One Final Update -- Long Update
---------------------------------------------------------
“Ah, you are wondering about that foul creature, are you?” Osiris boldly, “Thoth has recommended you drink a magical potion before going to fool this dangerous enemy. Isis brought over two champagne glasses with a red bottle next to them. “Inside this red bottle is a love potion, however not to the deceiver, but for the truly devoted such as you two. The potion will prevent his advancement on either of you – your bond with the other will be your protection, however the potion needs both samples of each others’ blood – only then – with the other as part of you – will you be safe.”
Willow looked disgusted, but Tara eased her into the concept. “If you’re uncomfortable, draw my blood first, Willow.”
Tara tightly hugged an unsure Willow as Horus handed her two small syringe-like objects with tiny needles on the end.
Tara led Willow back to the large shower room, whispering to comfort her. “We will head back in here… Away from preying eyes…Willow, are you okay? Here, Let me help you, sweetie.” Tara lifted Willow into her arms, carrying her gently into the large room.
Tara lowered Willow, and then proceeded to close the large door behind them.
Willow was uncomfortable, but she knew that the experiences she and Tara had faced with Set, each individually were far more a threat to their lives. Being alone with Tara aided in this understanding, and finally, Willow understood.
“Tara”
Tara rolled one of her sleeves so that Willow could collect the blood from that they needed from her. Willow gently pricked Tara’s forearm and drew blood. Tara never flinched, but instead grabbed a cloth to stop the bleeding. Willow, on the other hand, was nervous as a scared puppy dog, but Tara’s calm voice stopped her. Tara gently found the donor area, and poked it gently. Willow flinched, but Tara stopped the bleeding, stood up and kissed her.
Willow and Tara found the goblets of potions waiting to have the blood poured in, but first the blood of both girls to have been thoroughly mixed. This seemed rather grotesque to both Willow and Tara, although Tara understood that they were guests in a barbaric period, and if one the gods said the blood-mixed drink would protect them, as Willow seemed to understand in the large shower room, it would be worth the uncertainty that they might face with Set.
Anubis took the two vessels, slid over a bowl, and cracked the containers open, dripping the simultaneous flow of blood into a bowl underneath. Using a magic spell, he removed the taste of the blood, and poured equal amounts into the golden goblets with the red potion inside. Willow and Tara reluctantly drank the goblets’ contents, now hoping they would be safe.
“Thoth is back from his watch over the abandoned castle, which Set inhabits, and he will guide you there, once again.” Osiris stated, “Tara, I assume your experience with Set may help, although be warned, seeing you now alive and healthy may make him furious, and … not in his human form. He has the power to transform into a raging hippopotamus, and crush anything in his path. Good thing for you, you drank the potion, and this potion will protect you in any form. Depending on the direness it may transform each of you into animals.”
On this explanation, the girls followed Thoth to the castle, which for a deserted area looked about the way it should. Tara had never noticed the rundown state it was in, since she had been brought there as hostage because of Set’s rage. She had questions, questions that would probably transform the angelic, gentle person she was into a fierce warrior.
Why had Set attacked Willow for attempting to bring her back, and why was she the victim of his rage?
Tara abruptly stopped thinking as a cold sneering voice greeted their group. “Well, what I see before me but a traitor and two beautiful women, now who have come to visit me.” Set had noticed their arrival. “Tara, you did as you said, and how did you manage to stay alive?” Set’s eyes once again became blood red, which usually meant he was angry.
“While you work against Osiris and the others, they were the ones who graciously and respectfully, helped Willow revive me.” Tara gripped Willow’s hand so firmly that it startled her, “and no matter what kind of death took my life, I would have granted Willow the permission to bring me back to life, even if it was against the laws of nature. That one time would be one time I would grant it, for without one; the other cannot survive, maybe live, but not peacefully.”
Set was not one to listen to reason – He had had enough. “I hoped one of you would become allies with me, but now I see you love and care – which are impure and disgusting to me, and it insults me. Oh, well, no matter. Eventually it shall be time to KILL you both. You see, Tara, I was who wanted you dead. Of course, I had not reckoned with true love, and it is no wonder why. I love pointless death, and if you could have heard the demon tell me that this red-headed devil—“
“She is an ANGEL!” Yelled Tara, through gritted teeth. “No one calls her that in front of me!”
Set’s rage had finally become a huge threat. Just as Osiris had mentioned, Set slowly transformed into a giant hippopotamus, and now was able to snap anything into twigs. Slowly, as Set walked towards them, he cracked the foundation, which was already rundown, making the place crumble slowly all around them. The Hippopotamus now spoke in a low earthquake-type voice, which only made the danger worse, “You shall not survive!” The hippo laughed a deep cruel laugh, stomping more of the foundation into oblivion, leaving Willow and Tara, standing on a tiny splinter of land. As if a puppeteer was controlling them, Willow and Tara shot up to the ceiling, and out of the castle. Set however, never survived the outcome. Too busy trying to destroy them, he never cared that what he was doing was about to kill him.
Willow and Tara were magically lowered and now they were safe. The castle and Set had crumbled out of existence.
The trio now walked back to the hall Osiris was. A ram stood waiting for them.
“You have been brought back, Tara, and you both have saved us from Set’s evil treachery. As a gift of our appreciation, we would like to give you a life that you can treasure.” Osiris stopped speaking and the ram now spoke. “Follow me, ladies.” He led them to a room filled with clay and a potters’ wheel. “Usually, we don’t put a life in this world this way, but you won’t remember us. We shall wipe your memory, and you will live it without wondering. Osiris has asked that you be the carrier, Tara. Your life was taken so he has wanted to give you a joyful second chance.”
The ram led her to a bed, while stood nearby. Khnum lifted Tara’s shirt, exposing her belly. He created a small being on the potters’ wheel and then magically, as if Tara’s belly had a zipper, opened it and placed the child within. Willow and Tara both blinked appreciatively and started to cry.
Then as if Egypt was all a dream, it all faded. Tara never died, because the gods had reversed what happened and had blessed her with a child. Time had passed magically once the child was placed within her womb. Willow was happy as ever, and the two of them never remembered the Egyptian gods as their memory was erased – which allowed them to enjoy life.
