Ice: Despite the writers'a warenes of BtVS's Internet status, I doubt that deliberate vagueness played a large part in it, it was mainly just that there wasn't that much on-screen time plus they didn't do more backstory than they felt they needed, even if it didn't get on-screen. But we agree that it's a fortunate circumstance. (I've made a few other peopel's fics canon in my own AU.)
Actually I know what I want to do; a big myhtological thingie with lots of ancient gods involved (the kind who can freely bring Tara back,a nd even throw in Jonathan as a side effect) but adding details and stringing it together. Probably all of us who t ry this stuff have any number of ideas like that, ideas which would be good if we could take them somewhere.
