Oh Capt! That was just beautiful! So amazingly well written. Made my :love just swell up with their love. Now you've got me feeling all mushy...in many ways. :eyebrow

Yes, loved the happy dance at the end.

Still, very sweet, very touching. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Do you have anything else up your sleeve for us in the future? Would love to see something else from you!

Take care,

Glad you guys liked the ending. I've sweated that scene for months, let me tell you. I wanted to keep it PG-13, maybe R, writing just enough to let you all fill in the details with your dirty little minds. :eatme

Yes, there is a sequel bouncing around my demented little brain. Trouble is, it's also a sequel to a story that a) has little or nothing to do with Willow or Tara, and b) I haven't written yet, just referenced in my Star Trek group's chronology. Does that make any sense?

I am considering doing a 'vignettes' series, sort of 'Personal Logs'. I'll let you know.

wimpy0729: In case you are looking for stuff that I have written in the past -- it's more 'conventional' W/T stuff -- here is some stuff from the Completed Fics Archive:

Road to Nowhere

Four Months After

The Sidekick's Holiday

Hope you enjoy them.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!

Hey there. I liked that ending a lot, it felt good for the story, and it felt like a Star Trek kind of ending - the kind of feel you'd have at the end of the premiere episode of a series. The completion of a story, with a good feeling of closure, but also leaving the way *wide* open for more episodes later :)

And if you do pursue a Personal Logs series - which I imagine would have pretty limitless scope for the kind of vignettes you could write - I'd love to read them, and host them (assuming it's Willow and/or Tara's personal logs - no offence to Murdock, of course).

Nice melding of Mirror Mirror and Doppelgangland, by the way. And that little diversion into Mirror Willow's attraction to Willow - incest or narcissism? - nicely brought to mind the lovely, lethal Intendant Kira. (If Mirror Willow ever encountered a temporal anomaly and ended up in her universe's 24th Century, I can just imagine her and Kira getting nice and cosy and plotting all manner of inventive villainy. I'm sure, by some odd quirk of fate, the Intendant of Terok Nor is Mirror Tara :) )

What a fic!

Yes it very much had a Star Trek ending to it.

Now I get go over it a re-read it in one go.

I would very much like to see a series of Personal Logs. Tidbits from various missions and see how our girls fit into the crew.

Some how I feel that Willow and Tara will fare better under Capt. Murdock than say other people.

Plus there is still the issue with Faith to deal with.

I also liked the Doppelgangland/Mirror Mirror reference. Since it is obvious that one was so brazenly copied from the other. course I have to ask, what the hell was wrong with the transporters back then if they were always sending people to alternate dimensions!?

Great story really. But I am such a sucker for stories when two people defy all odds to be together, especially these two people.

So Capt.

I have been thinking. Do you plan to add Willow and Tara to your Trek fics/history as it continues away from Pens? Has your view of where your Trek-world is going been changed with thier addition?

I am sure you have more ideas and plans for Murdock and the crew of the Hannibal, will Willow and Tara fit into those plans away and removed from their orgins?

Personally I think it would be nice, even if we never see those stories to know that somewhere, somewhen they got their happily ever after.

Captain, a very nice conclusion to a long jouney of a story. Yuor handling of the scene between Tara and Willow was tasteful and left alot to the imagination. I felt it added a certain class to the story. Captain Murdock doing a happy dance, hmmm. An interesting image to sure in the corridors of his own ship.Anyway, good stuff as I expected it to be. You already have my notes from all of the previous discussions we had on this story. I look forward to the next idea that comes from your twisted mind. :crash

Computer permitting of course.

Artemis: I had intended this to have the kind of ending that left it open for new "episodes."

Yes, the Personal Logs would definitely be by either Willow or (more likely) Tara.

I've always thought "Dopplegangland" and "The Wish" owed a lot to TOS:"Mirror, Mirror" and DS9:"Crossover", et.al. (What, Joss stealing? Perish forbid.) I have considered Mirror Willow finding her way to the 24th century..although I don't want to use Yet Another Temporal Anomaly -- even my Dramatic License has limits. Not to worry; I'm sure a Certified Evil Genius like Mirror Willow will come up with something. :) My concern is, is Mirror Tara working for the Alliance? Or is she a bigshot in the Resistance. Oooh, imagine Take-Charge Tara as the leader of the Resistance. Very butch. :punish

Web Warlock: Faith will be making an appearance in later stories -- maybe the next one, I'm not sure yet. As to her true nature, and whether she and Murdock will, ahem, work out some of their differences...that will be interesting.

As to the shared Trek universe that my friends and I have built up over the years...as Captain Serek would tell you, this story is too far removed from the Established Starfleet Operating Forces Canon (TM) to include it as part of the chronology. There are too many changes, for instance, to the Hannibal's. As far as SFOF is concerned, this is an imaginary story.

Oh well.

Speak of the devil...

Captain Serek: If you refer back to the last section, you will note that Murdock made sure no one saw him before he did the Dance of Vicarious Smoochies. Decorum was maintained. :)

I want to thank all of you for the wonderful feedback, including the detailed criticism, that you've given me. It's been a long two years, writing this story. You all have been beyond patient.

True, Take-Charge Tara leading the Resistance is a nice idea... but this is the Mirror Universe. I'm imagining Tara leading the *Alliance* :) After all, Regent Worf probably ended up in a precarious situation after being disgraced in battle against the rebels and their Defiant - who better to calmly usurp him than a devastatingly beautiful telepathic Tara? And of course she'd need a suitably ruthless, brilliant second-in-command, even if she has to go back to the 23rd century to get her.

In case you hadn't guessed, I kind of liked Dark Mirror :)

So did I. Not to mention everything else Diane Duane ever wrote.

The only problem is, I'm not sure I can see Mirror Tara, being three-quarters human, in a position of power in the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance, which came to power in the wake of the Terran-Vulcan Empire.

At first I was somewhat disappointed with the direction that DS9 took with the Mirror universe, but then I later came to love it. Of course, given the proclivity of parallels to "our" universe, there ought to be timelines where the Empire never fell.:hmm

I must think on this further.

Re: Equilibration, Chapter 12 (continued)

I considered Tara's genetic heritage as a drawback for her. But we never saw Betazoids in the current era Mirror universe - by this time the Terran Empire had fallen, so maybe Betazed never allied with them. And y'know, a race of powerful telepaths, in a universe where self-interest is the rule, wouldn't just sit around and be conquered... they'd more likely be the ones in charge. I always kind of imagined that 'Regent' Worf was regent to a Betazed Empress Troi. I mean, Betazoids are smart, whereas, being charitable, Klingons and Cardassians are heavy-handed morons... Troi would let Worf and the Klingons be the public face of the Alliance, and have the rebels of half the galaxy constantly trying to kill him, while she can just relax and rule. I'm kind of picturing Mirror Tara being discriminated against on Betazed because of her part-human blood, and as a consequence deciding that the only way she'll be allowed to live in peace is if she's in control of everyone else. So, in her quiet, patient Tara-type way, she plans, and trains herself (the same way Troi did in Dark Mirror, using her tele-empathic skills as a weapon), and because she *has* to struggle all the way, she becomes more powerful than the rest of her race. And ends up Empress :)

Hello Kittens-

I like how Murdock has 'chosen' Willow and Tara and the dance of Vacarious Smoochies was a wonderful touch. I just have one more thing to say:

SEQUEL!

Thank you for the ride,

And now I feel like a great big slacker, because this made it into the archive before I could leave feedback on the ending :)

This was a beautiful ending to a beautiful story, but part of what I really like about this fic is that it has the feel to being the beautiful beginning to a larger story ... even if you never get around to writing the sequel this story so richly deserves, it's got such a rich cast of characters that it just takes a little daydreaming to revisit them (though, I will be keeping an eye out for a sequel ... ).

This is one I'll be visiting the archives to reread again and again.

Thanks for the feedback, Sassette; I don't mind if it was belated.

I am working out the details on a sequel; unfortunately, those nasty telepaths that Paramount have on the payroll have done it again. The plot I had in mind has some similar elements to current episodes of Enterprise. Bugger.

See you around!
