Well, Debra. I'm actually pretty new to the board. I've only been here about 2 months. So I'm making my way through what I can. And, yeah...that was a lot to read right through...but worth it. I pretty much love everything you've written. Most of it I found on Mystic Muse...before I ventured over to the Kitten Board. Yay me for finding the Kittens!

Artemis – Hey there. Glad you liked it (or so I interpret your uh words…). Yes, I think you are right that for them this was a pretty serious session of play. While I don’t believe that Tara’s upbringing was hideously violent nor sexually abusive, it’s very apparent from cannon that she suffered emotional and some physical abuse at the hands of her father and brother. So I think that placing herself into Willow’s hands (no pun intended) would be a huge step of faith and trust but also a spot of healing.

Re: imagination vs. research vs. experience: I’d say for me it’s about 35% research (reading other fan fic or erotica), 60% imagination, and 5% experience. I always am open to feedback or criticism from those who are actually in the scene and yes, people do write to tell me what I got wrong. I try to go from the basics of respect and communication and agreed upon boundaries. Since W/T are monogamous and not in the “public scene” it’s a little easier because they can do whatever they agree upon.



Funny that you didn’t expect this one. I’d say from my “research” that there are people who are strictly tops or bottoms and those who “switch” as a preference. Certainly I know people who switch from scene to scene. It’s my belief that both W and T are prime for this type of play. Willow is truly an eager sub because of her low self-esteem from earlier in life with her unrequited crush on X and also because of the lack of attention from her parents. No matter how mature, intelligent, etc. she may be now, those things were integral to her development. I buy her as a sub more than as a Domme although I’ve read plenty of both. For T, I think that she has the potential to go either way. Because of her past, she might be into the sub role because she already associates pain with love but she also might shy away from it like the plague because she’s had enough submission in her life. For her, taking this step is hugely healthy. Keep in mind that this is a season 6 fic and that they are using this play partially to defuse the larger life issues around them.



You’re definitely right that 25 is a lot and probably a big mistake on my part. I think in my mind I mixed up the experience she has as a top with a bottom. So probably too many. Thanks for pointing out the typo.

wow, debra, this update was so worth the wait. i didn't see this switch coming up either. i'm not suprised that their play might have eventually taken them there, i just didn't see it coming mid-scene like that. had tara planned that all night? or did she decide it in the car, or just when she saw willow there in the collar...i'm sure the idea had been perculating for her for a while, but i wonder when the moment was that she decided to take the plunge.

i completely agree with you that fics where willow is a sub and tara a dom seem much more plausible than the reverse. given tara's implied history, seeking to be a sub didn't seem likely or healthy to me. but the circumstances you've provided here give it a context that makes sense. "would you like your mistress to free you of your fear?"-that's amazing and beautiful. for me, i think that's the fulcrum of this whole series, intentionally on your part or not, but it's taken this journey to a completely new level. not just sexually, but as two people who are learning to take care of each other in every way possible.

but my favorite part: "knowing that my ending a sentence in a preposition would make her crazy and not really caring". willow using her power to torture tara grammatically, now that really is evil! amazing as always debra~mary

It’s not that I think that the T/w fics are more plausible than W/t, but I find them to be more healthy. Most of the W/t fics I’ve read (with the exception of a few including the very short Midnight Stretch which is excellent and completely Kitten-qualified), really seem to play with Tara’s submission as an extension of earlier abuse. Whereas most T/w ones seem fun for lack of a better word. Anyway, glad you liked so much. Thanks for your intelligent and thoughtful feedback.



GrrlMeetsWorld – That’s actually one of the things that took me so long. I really couldn’t decide which POV to use. On one hand I wanted Tara because I find the sub POV so much more interesting to write or read. But on the other, the Dom has to be so much more active in every way that I wanted to express that. I also wanted to just mix it up from my usual. Good thinking though.

Right, I'm back. Let me just begin with - sweet merciful crap!!!! If my salivary glands weren't partially dried up, I'm sure that I would have drowned in my own drool. I figured out why you did the little laugh thing when you mentioned feedback for this as soon as I read the rating.

NC-17 – Really! Really!

Good to see you believe in truth in advertising, and boy, you weren't kidding.

Now, let's try and give some marginally meaningful feedback, so I don't just feel like a voyeur.

Chapter 1. You really tricked me here. I started reading, and thought okay, so it's an AU and they haven't met yet. But no! And I completely fell for it. I liked Tara's reaction to Willow's safeword.

Unicorn. Good choice. Can’t imagine how that would come up in casual conversation.

That's a pretty safe assumption, unless you make a habit of talking to Harmony perhaps. Vampire with a unicorn fetish. You gotta love it.

It's good that you actually cover the motivations as to why they are taking their relationship in this particular direction. It gives the story a little credibility that often seems to be lacking in most smut-fests. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a little mindless smut, but it's always better when it's in character and with proper motivation.

I mean some stories just jump into the main characters having wild monkey sex hanging upside down from bungie-jump ropes suspended over a piranha infested river in the Amazon without explaining why. I haven't read any storys like that example per say, but hyperbole is sooo much fun to indulge in.

I didn't actually get the joke with the title of the restaurant in chapter 4 until good2cats mentioned that it was a joke in an earlier reply. Sigh. I guess my mind just isn't dirty enough. Yet. Give me time.

I was surprised that Willow was able to even think about who was patrolling when they came home in chapter 5. I have to admit, the thought of Xander handling patrol by himself seems somewhat funny to me. Sure, by this point in the series he's not the Zeppo anymore, but still, Xander by himself may as well paint a bullseye on his neck.

It was always interesting when they referred to each other by their 'titles' in their thoughts. Just goes to show how into the game they were getting.

I just have to ask; what the frilly heck is a 'combination head/sex shop'? I haven't the faintest idea.

I really think that Willow and Tara had better invest in a lock for their bedroom door if they intend to keep up these kinds of shenanigans, or one of these days someone who isn't supposed to is going to get one hell of an eyeful. Possibly a concussion when they hit the floor too.

Willow's thoughts on spam mail in part 6 were a hoot, and spot on to boot. And her concerns about 'ruining' the velvet were perfect.

That cracked me up. Then cue clueless Xander. Followed swiftly by 'how incest is that' from Dawn. I was full-on cackling at this point. Boy, who would have suspected that Tara could be such a master manipulator, playing Anya so easily. I really expected Willow to win their little contest, because ... well she had Xander, and as a guy myself I know how easy we are to manipulate. But no! Tara strikes again. I loved that fact that they both used variations of the same ploy in the end. I know that kind of statement would startle the hell out of me.

The first person sections work great. Willow's attempts to earn punishment and growing concern were well done.

Ok. She’s got some kind of plan. How do I know that? Because she’s acting like she doesn’t. Like everything is “tra-la-la” and skipping through the daisies singing. And we haven’t sung in weeks!

Hilarious, but is this a reference to Once More With Feeling, or is singing just a euphemism for something else?

Yay! Star Wars reference! Oh god, I am soooo lame. I loved all of Buffy's snarky little comments. I'm sure that she knows Willow and Tara are up to something.

“Well, that’s seven hours we could be having sex Xander.” Anya’s voice cuts through the room as Buffy and I each shoot our hands toward Dawn’s ears. Even with slayer speed, Buffy isn’t in time and I’m not even close.

I love it! Though I would have thought even Dawn would be inured to comments like this by now.

You cracked me up with Buffy's little comment about wanting a lightsabre. You've gotta admit, it would come in handy, until some accidentally lopped off something important anyway.

“Couldn’t you tell by the incoherent moaning and screaming?” Willow giggled as she nuzzled into her lover’s neck.

Yeah, I would have thought that was a pretty good giveaway.

Chapter 13 had me wondering what the heck Willow had done to earn her punishment this time. Then we find out, and I've got to agree. Those bridesmaids dresses were truely hideous. Which, as I understand it, is the point.

I like the way you often find little ways to slip in references to the show, like Tara's comments on Buffy's driving abilites in chapter 14A. Personally, I don't think even an NC-18 rating would really cover it. Maybe NC-66?

“Just look,” she complained, “all these women are here before us and they’ll be closer to the sexy men and their penises.”

I almost choked when I read that. Then we get not only a drunk Anya, but a drunk Buffy as well. That's a dangerous combination. I'm having flashbacks to Buffy's little bender in Life Serial when she made that little ugh noise after every drink.

Okay, nearly finished. Chapter 14B was an interesting change, with Willow being the top. Being in her POV was a good choice, as it let us feel her confusion while simultaneously keeping up slightly in the dark as to how Tara's feeling.

And on that point, I think I'll stop. I've been writing this reply for so long my butt's gone to sleep. Blimey, I do tend to waffle on.

Sorry for the trick in chp. 1. I guess it couldn’t be avoided but I really think that otherwise, it would have been just so out of character for them. You know? This on the other hand, seems marginally in character.

I agree with you about the motivations. That was very very important to me—to show that this is not just about inflicting pain or getting off. That they deeply love each other and are working through their issues together.

Lol about the inadequately dirty mind. Lol 2 about Xander patrolling. But he ended up being pretty darn impressive by the end.

A “head” shop sells drug paraphernalia (under some other bogus pretense of course). It’s actually illegal in Texas to call them head shops because it implies an intent to use the items for illegal purposes. If you are in a head shop and say it’s a head shop or call the “water pipes” a bong or something, they have to ask you to leave. It’s not unusual for a shop to sell sex toys, smoking paraphernalia, and say velvet posters and lava lamps.

Agreed about the bedroom door lock. I’m glad you liked part 6. That’s one of my favorites. I would totally expect Tara to be able to manipulate people easily. She’s so empathetic that she could do it easily.

Actually I’ve gotten criticism for it because the dresses fall outside the realm of the game.

Ok, now I read this first time a while ago in an elsewhere type place. I have no idea why but my poor eyes just cant handle reading stuff on the kitten board...... which is quite good coz then my girlfriend has to read it to me, the downside to that is that she didn get too far into the most recent reading of this before, well before she had to stop.

But anyway, I love this, like totally and utterly if I only had three fics to read for the rest of eternity, this would be number 1. There may be words to say how brilliant this is but they have either fallen clean out of my head or I just didnt know them to start with.

Briliantly excellent and amazing. I did read one other fic with a similar idea but clearly the author had no clue about what they were talking about. I love this because its not just gratuitous fucking but theres love and most importantly, trust behind what they are doing.... that and well its just hotter than Porn day in Hell!!!!

Okay I was browsing last night and I hadn't seen this story before, or if I had I must have just missed it for whatever reason. I usually don't read B&D fics, whips and pain ect... kinda put me off and I could never imagine the characters Willow and Tara doing that. However....... as I have enjoyed other fics you have written and I suppose curiosity , I read it and I must say you wrote it so well in the way that it described the love between the girls whilst they were playing each different game, it was very well done and yes, I must admit certain parts were hot
and the end chapter a surprise in the way that I had never imagined Tara doing that with Willow in a bathroom (prude that I am!) but I could now,
