Don´t like the price Tara has to pay for her magick.

This one made me laugh:

Well she’s always like totally stoned. What if I go and borrow a joint, would that help?

I really liked the 2 last updates, the trip was wonderfull, but i'm not telling you what i would bring on a trip...:wink ...

Her birthday presents were so sweet and beautifull.

The last part was somewhat sad, Tara feeling this pain cause she cares so much for others seems wrong somehow.

i hope she feels better soon.

Lovely updates Deb! Tara's pressies for Willow were just very nice! Loved the sketch book part and them doing the spell and everything, a perfect lil B-day for Queen Willow! :D

The last update... how sweet was that, i mean come on trying to run and help Tara get all better with the heeling power of a joint - what says I love you and want you better more than that! :p But seriously it was a sweet update with Willow being all 'protective' and 'mother hen-y' with her girl. Loved it!! :grin Can't wait 4 more! :)

Willow: We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know... insane.

Tara: I said quirky.

Hey Debra,

Have I completely lost my brain? Has Willow told Tara she loves her before this? (Even if she is asleep) On the weekend away I remember them saying they were crazy about each other but I don't remember them actually declaring their love. Pay no mind, I've probably just let my memory fall out. Regardless, I found Willow's sentiment wonderful. Her concern was touching.

As for the joint idea, cracked me up. As did Tara professing she tought Willow was all with the innocent. Heh.

Short but very sweet update! Look forward to more.

cheers

Awww.... Tara in pain :( Can't Willow help her with that a bit please ?? Of course Willow will stay and take care of Tara, no worries there :) . Maybe Tara should be a little less giving until she has her alignment fixed.

Willow walking out of class, wow... thats kinda unique. Granted, worrying about Tara is good enough reason to leave in hurry though.

Ah poor Willow willing time to speed up because she was worried about her girl. I thought her imagining the possible scenarios to explain why Tara hadn't appeared was typical of her.

Tara's so noble, bless her, taking on others pain like that.

Grimaldi – Cool. Glad you liked. Yeah, we’ve never seen Willow have a birthday on the show but I figure she’d be a total kid about it.

Nick – Now I’m confused. I was thinking that I had seen comments from you earlier on the birthday but maybe I’m loosing my mind. :confused . Either way. Thanks for reading. Glad you liked the brithday. Willow will do what she can but really, isn’t it mostly a matter of waiting a few days?

littlecrazy80 – Yeah, it’s a price but she’s willing to pay it. We can assume her mother and grandmother did too. Glad the joint idea cracked you up. Hey, btw, how do you do a quote? I’ve never done one and feel a little to apathetic to go read the faqs to find out.

TareBearRS – Ahhh, selfish wouldn’t tell what you would bring? Bummer. Glad you liked the presents. She’ll feel better from it after a few days. She considers it a good tradeoff.

Ashley – Yes, a perfect birthday for Willow. Loving, sensual, learning, and Tara :tara . What could ever be better? (ok, Stef probably has a suggestion :grin ). Ha ha, what says loving better? That’s classic. Can’t imagine either of them stoned though.

Sonya – Fear not, your brain is intact (or at least as intact as it was before the update; I can’t testify beyond that). She has not said it, nor has Tara. Yes, both said they were crazy about the other at the B&B but neither said “I love you.” Glad everyone liked the joint interaction.

Yana – Hmmm, wow, I can’t believe you just figured out my name. Been reading a bit quick huh? Yes, nice to have some Willow lovings and tummy rubs. She’s a sweet girl.

Grimmy – Yes, Willow can stay and rub her tummy and hold her and make her feel better. But can’t cure it. Tara’s too giving for that though. Yeah, can you believe that? That Willow left class – shows how worried she was about “her Tara.”

Mollyig – Yeah, typical Willow :willow and Tara :tara . Willow obsessing about what happened and Tara being so giving. Hey, now I’m kinda like Yana above. I only figured out your name when you commented on my sig the other day: Molly + ig (indigo girls) huh? Woo hoo cookie for Debra if so.

Stef – Yes, as many pointed out, nothing says love like skipping class and trading candy bars for joints. She will.

Thanks for reading Kittens. I’ll update this (Monday) evening.

W/T Season 3 Y'all part 17

Postby JustSkipIt » Mon Dec 16, 2002 5:40 pm

Hi everyone. Monday evening with a post. My current plan is that I’m cooking something up and starting a slow boil. Will do more cooking Wednesday then Friday.

Title– W/T Season 3 Y’all – part 17

Author– JustSkipit - Debra

Feedback – Yes please.

Spoilers–Season 3 through Band Candy and sort of Lover’s Walk, kind of Zeppo – you’ll see.

Rating– Part 17 – PG

Disclaimer – Willow and Tara and any other character that appeared in the syndicated television show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is property of Joss and Mutant Enemy, I’m only borrowing them and am not making any money off them Thanks.

Summary See parts 1-6 for this note.

Consistency etc. See parts 1-6 for this note.

Thoughts in italics!

Willow didn’t knock before entering Tara’s room. The blonde never locked the door and neither did Alyson. Their theory apparently was that they had nothing to steal and anyone who tried obviously needed it more than they did. Of course with all her computer equipment and semi-legitimate to totally illegal paraphernalia in her room, Willow felt completely different. She entered quietly expecting to see Tara sleeping on her bed but found it empty. Oh baby, it’s too cold to be sleeping on the roof she worried moving to the window. She was surprised to find the window closed and Tara not on the roof.

Sitting on Tara’s bed, she wondered where the blonde could be. Both girls had their SATs this morning. Willow of course felt that it went very well. Tara had felt that it went well too but left the test with a very bad headache in addition to being really tired from the stress of preparing for the test along with all her other work. In the course of preparing they had come up with a strategy that they felt would help Tara do better on the parts of the test that involved less intense reading and comprehension. Then, she could return to those parts with the remaining time. As they left the test hall, Willow turned toward the cafeteria as Tara begged off from lunch saying that she just wanted to sleep off her headache and would eat dinner. Although the redhead tried to convince Tara to come and get something small, she could see that Tara was really hurting and said she would come up in a little while.

After eating and visiting with friends, Willow finally came up to check on Tara. And found her not in her room. She laughed as she realized where Tara must be and quickly returned to her own room. As she unlocked the door, she was pleased to see the blonde sprawled across her bed, sleeping peacefully.

Willow lightly sat on the bed, leaning against the headboard. With her motion, Tara stirred slightly and Willow pulled her closer. She had to strive to hear Tara speak moments later, “here, I got you a balloon sweetie,” she mumbled in her sleep.

“Thanks baby,” Willow answered quietly, not wanting to wake her from the obvious dream. She sat on the bed, running her hands through the blonde’s hair and humming every love song she could think of. The redhead was constantly amazed by the depth of her feeling for Tara. The comfort and safety she felt when she was with the blonde was unlike anything she had ever felt or even known was possible. She had never been with anyone who made her laugh so much or who she could make laugh—someone who appreciated all her quirky characteristics and encouraged Willow to be herself.

Closing her eyes, Willow thought again of their first kiss on the roof of the dorm. That kiss was like warm water, like soft petals, like the most perfect perfection that she had never dreamed. That kiss cemented every question she’d ever had to one truth. The truth of Tara. The truth of Tara and Willow. She could almost feel Tara’s lips on her own as she lay there, breathing in Tara’s unique scent.

That scent. Oh Goddess. It was the most amazing thing that Willow had ever known. It was 100% uniquely Tara. Although part of it was the shampoo that the blonde used, Willow had gotten under that layer to smell Tara’s skin. Her skin, like her mouth had a feel, a taste, a scent that could only be Tara. A sweetness and muskiness that Willow knew was totally different from her own. Meditating on that sensation, she wondered if Tara’s scent would be like that. What would she taste like when Willow twirled her on her tongue?

Months ago, Willow could not have even imagined a thought like that. To be fantasizing about making love with another woman. About tasting her essence? She certainly never had thoughts like that about Oz or any one else. All her sexual fantasies had been vague images of kisses or embraces, never to the detail of acts or giving or receiving the type of pleasure that she now frequently fixated on.

Now, she found herself moving toward that pleasure with a certain speed and knowing that the speed was too slow! She wanted to savor the movement and at the same time, wanted to reach her goal. She wanted to be closer with Tara than she had ever been with anyone, closer than anyone had ever been with anyone. To be fully united, fully open, fully loved and loving.

Lying there thinking these things, she couldn’t help but be aware of the effect these thoughts had on her body. Tara was sleeping between Willow’s legs, her body warming that intimate space. A space which she was very aware was growing wet with her thoughts and Tara’s proximity. More and more she felt pleasure but also frustration in her arousal and excitement. Thinking of the physical sensation made her think of Tara and thinking of Tara made her aroused.

She closed her eyes and imagined Tara waking from her dream. Waking and feeling Willow’s closeness, her excitement, her own excitement, the blonde would press her body against Willow’s allowing their breasts to softly touch through their shirts. Kissing her deeply, thrusting her tongue gently between the redhead’s lips. Lifting herself to press her thigh against Willow’s wetness.

She lightly chuckled as she stepped back mentally to observe her thoughts Oh Goddess, I Willow Rosenberg—Ms. Logic, Ms. Plan, Ms is everything ready and prepared and maybe we should check first—don’t care about a plan, don’t care about logic. I want this woman. I want to make love with her. To be fully united with her body and soul. To feel her inside me and feel inside her.

For the first time, passion was not an academic interest for Willow. She now understood the drive that Buffy had explored with Angel, and with such tragic consequences. Would she have still done it if she had known? Certainly not but now no one would ever know. And she understood a little how Xander had let his hormones take over with Faith-- hormores that caused him to lose Cordelia. So she understood passion for the first time as a physical sensation: the sensation of wanting something so much and so badly and so well. But it wasn’t just physical either was it? She wanted to experience a joining on a level beyond physical with the Tara. Smiling with the thought, she gave herself over to fantasy which soon became dreaming.

***

Tara woke slowly and regretfully to the waning light in the room and an awareness of Willow’s breathing softly synchronized with hers. The most recent dream had contained both of them walking through a field of tall grass under the warm sun. At the edge of the water, they found themselves without clothes and taking each other’s hands had entered the warmth together. Time ceased to exist as did the need to breathe as both women swam endlessly together and apart, like an intimate dance with no constraints.

At times Tara was aware of the stark sexuality of the dream: images of her holding Willow, kissing her deeply or being kissed, taking nipples in her mouth or giving up her own, trailing her hand toward that untouched triangle, the area of mystery and home. At others, the dream simply felt like floating or flying as she embraced every aspect of her Willow. Her Willow: the thought made her smile as she woke from sleep.

Joining the waking world, she was immediately aware of the intense arousal she felt. Her body was on fire and she could feel wetness pooled between her legs, soaking her panties. She needed to go to the bathroom but didn’t want to leave her home. Pressed against Willow’s body, she could feel her heat. And something else… She could feel a similar wetness through Willow’s clothing. This realization intrigued rather than surprised the blonde.

For months the two women had been moving toward this state, even before they kissed. Even before they admitted their feelings, they had been moving toward this. No, past this to something more, something beyond: a joining, a union.

Tara knew that she was the one holding up their making love. She was the one who pulled away, who shied from the heat and passion. Willow didn’t say anything but she could tell that the redhead was ready. That she would give and take and dance and touch and love. And Tara wanted that.

But.

But.

That but was the biggest thing in the world at this moment. And what was the but? Was it fear? No. Was it a lack of confidence? No. Was she not attracted to Willow? Goddess no. That was ludicrous to even pose.

It was hard to put a handle on but she was getting closer. It had to do with the depth of emotion and the importance of the act. The absolute joining of making love. Of opening herself up to another soul and calling that soul in. Of entering another fully and never going back. She knew that once they had made love, there would never be another moment in her life when she was the same, when they were the same. Forever on, they would be lovers. If they were together for a week or 1000 years and please let it be closer to 1000 years this would be something they would share forever. They could never go back.

And when would that be? And would Willow understand what that meant when they did? Would Willow grasp the depth of Tara’s love for her and return that love. Would it mean the same thing to Willow? Could it? Could it not? Did it matter when if you had forever to spend?

Or is that the issue? Do we have forever to spend? Tara questioned. How long do we have? And can I open myself to that love to giving my heart and soul and body over to this woman if it may be taken away? No, that’s not the question, my heart and soul are her’s already. Can I give my body and not know if I may lose her?

***

Willow woke slowly, her hands entwined in soft hair. Waking, she began stroking Tara’s hair again, allowing her hands to stray to her face. And found surprising wetness on Tara’s cheeks. She softly stroked the tears from Tara’s skin, allowing them to be absorbed through her hands, trying so hard to take Tara’s sadness from her. At times Willow could feel that sadness or fear and she wanted more than anything to take it from her girlfriend, but she did not know how.

“Tara, do you want to talk about it?” Willow asked quietly.

Tara sat up to pull Willow closer, placing a quick kiss on her lips before answering, “T-t-thanks sweetie. I think it’s just a h-h-hard and long day. I need to go and w-w-wash up before d-d-dinner ok? Then we can eat and see the m-m-movie ok?”

Willow pulled the blonde in for a hug before answering: “Yeah that’s fine. I need to shower too. Want me to meet you upstairs about 6 for dinner?”

As Tara nodded, Willow grasped her hand, “if you want to talk. When you want to talk, I want to listen baby. Whatever it is, together we can figure it out ok?” As Tara nodded, glancing at the floor, Willow refused to release her hand: “Together.”

Smiling Tara again kissed the redhead deeply before nodding and moving to the door: “Thanks, see you at 6 sweetie.”

Willow watched the door close behind her girlfriend wanting to know what was upsetting her but also knowing that whatever it was, they would figure it out together. She lay back thinking of the blonde and made good use of the hour before dinner as she thoroughly explored her responses to her newest fantasies.

Heh....Willow has it bad, verrrry bad....: -->>:

She isn't shy when thinking about it now is she ? Both Tara and Willow approaching their relation from different angles. Tara is thinking further ahead, maybe a bit too far. Tara is thinking long-term-commitment already, not sure if Willow is that far yet (heck, planning that far ahead might scare her:) ).

Still doesn't explain exactly what Tara was crying about though, being torn between wanting to love Willow and being unsure still ? She really should talk to Willow about whatever is bothering her eventually. Willow sooooo wants to help her, please let her.

Sweet that Tara sleeps better on Willow's bed :D

Aww.. :heart Willow’s birthday was incredible. Tara’s a sweetheart.:love That was an intense make out session before the picnic. Willow skipping classes out of concern for Tara just goes to show that she knows where her priorities lie. Lets face it she wasn’t going to get anything done regardless, so she made the right decision to leave and go find Tara. Tara if anything seems nervous to meet the gang back in Sunnydale. Sometimes I think her nervousness is misinterpreted as insecurity. But I have to admit it’s a fine line sometimes. In this last update it was really nice to see both their perspectives on the consummation or lack there of, of their relationship. Funny to see Willow ready, willing and able to go to the next step. :bounce (Go Will);) I always thought that the amount hesitation Tara feels would come from both. But it’s clear Tara has some issues she still needs to work out. I hope she can put aside her nervousness, insecurities and possible anxieties and talk to Willow open and honestly. All in all I loved the last 3 updates. Lucky me.:p I feel spoiled. Its either that or I’m just slow on getting to them and reading them. I’m voting for simply spoiled. Thank you.:clap

More please?:wink

Nick – Yes, they want each other very much. And yes, Tara is afraid but beyond that, also truly wants to honor the importance of making love. Of joining their souls. She’s not one to lightly give herself. And remember, she doesn’t know if Willow loves her. Ok, maybe she knows, but she hasn’t heard those words from her.

Grimmy – Yes she does. I always figure she would be a total vixen and she’s definitely written that way S5-S6. Maybe not in s4 but s5-6, a real vixen. Planning might scare Willow off? Since when, isn’t she Miss Plan girl? Ok, maybe not with this but generally. I’d say Tara was crying from a general height of emotion fear/love/depth/everything. Yes, I thought it was sweet too. Oh, fear not, many parts to come and the horses will be around. Lots of new experiences for everyone.

Ha ha. Lol. :roll. Yeah, I rode my horse today. Ok, not rode my horse but I wore my boots to work in honor of my fic.

Yana – Yes, sweet. I actually wrote those parts very far from each other and when I put them together, noticed the similarities of Willow looking for Tara. But I liked it in each part so I didn’t take it out of either.

Patty – Thanks for writing. I love the feedback and long comments rock! :clap . Yes to the hot making out and I’m proud of the girls for stopping too. I expected people to throw rotten fruit for their stopping but everyone’s been really supportive about it. Yeah Kittens :clap . Thanks for trusting me.

Wow, you are very perceptive about Tara and her fears. I wouldn’t say that the sunnydale stuff is everything but it’s on the list. I think that they both started out hesitant re: the physical but now it’s really just Tara that’s hesitant. And she’s not that far from it either but more than Willow. Maybe she feels that it’s her responsibility to hold the space for both? Glad you loved all 3 and felt spoiled. Update expected Wednesday. Thanks for reading.

So sweet that they went to each other's rooms that way and dreamed about each other in that way. While passion is all well and good, I think Willow needs a plan to get her Tara the way she wants her, but she'll need to understand Tara's fears first.

Wonderful that Tara went to Willow's room instead of her own to try to recover from her headache. Love the image of Willow watching over her while she slept, it reminded me of the start of this lovely story when Tara first met Willow and watched her sleep.

The very fact that Willow didn't overreact at Tara's tears, just issued an invitation to talk, and trusted in Tara to do so when she felt ready, was great.

DMW – Yes, very sweet that their rooms are interchangeable to them currently. Either may be in the other’s room and just go looking to find them. Yes, in this case someone has to come to the other. Either W can get herself to where T is and meet her there and move with her along the path or T can get to where W is or they can both meet in the middle. Just like all relationships.

Stef – You are the very model of patience :angel . Good job! Yes, talking would be good or of course those three little words from either/both might help too.

mollyig – Yes, the watching while sleeping is a major theme here and will run throughout. Don’t forget all the pictures Tara has drawn of Willow sleeping. It’s just such a perfect time to watch your lover/girlfriend sleep or for that matter, a child. So beautiful to me. Yes, I’m proud of the way that Willow reacted. Yeah for my cookie! Thanks.

Grimaldi – Yes, Willow is totally gone, crazy for the girl and the kissage. Maybe Tara will talk about it soon…

littlecrazy80 – Thanks. Funny, everyone rooting for talking. Well, maybe that’s a good mark on Kittens that everyone believes in communication :clap .

Holly – Did you miss one? I’m sorry about that. I know you’ve been really busy and everything. Glad to make you numb in a good way and thanks for the m&ms. I could use some right this minute.

Re: your sig. Saw that flic recently. Very passionate but tragic. Much foreshadowing that just permeated it but I loved the Pauline character.

Peggy of – Thanks for reading. Glad I’ve got your attention now. Will try to keep it. I think the next few updates will definitely keep some attention (hint hint).

TareBearRS – Yes, they could use some communication and those three little words never hurt do they? Maybe soon?

Postby samiamiguess » Tue Dec 17, 2002 1:59 pm

Hi Debra,

I wanted to say how I completely appreciate Tara's nervousness and the situation she finds herself in. She has found such a deep, encompassing love for Willow that as yet, may not be wholly reciprocated. Oh she knows of Willows affection for her but considering the depth of emotion she feels it means that she is hesitant and needing to be sure that she will not lose what she has just found. Going quickly into a physical relationship she feels may do that.

Ok that's completely my take on it and may be entirely different to what you were trying to portray!! either way its real and its reassuring to see that Willow isn't trying to force the issue.

The one thing I do find intriguing here is the reluctance that both have to vocalise their obvious love for each other. This I find again completely believable as both are inherently shy people when it comes to nature of the heart, despite what we saw in later series. These protrayals were way down the line and for a season 3 fic as you have here this is definitely on the money.

I'm completely engrossed in this! A cracking good read!

thanks

Re: LOVE THIS

Sonya – Thanks for the complimentary and thorough comments. So glad to see some support for the complexity of the situation and relationship and for the trepidation Tara feels. You got it exactly :clap . Cookie for Sonya. I think it’s hard for most people to profess their love for the first time. My experience has always been that who wants to be the first to say “I love you”? I mean what if you say “I love you” and the person says, “thanks”? Then you fall through the floor and disappear? What then? Also, there’s the whole “I want to say those words but at the perfect moment.” I want to always remember when I said I love you and she did too. Of course, anytime you say and hear that, it’s great but still kind of scary right?

Thanks for your awesome feedback. I’ll post another update tomorrow so get ready. Thanks for reading everyone.

Tara was almost finished with putting up the new hay and giving the horses their oats. Needing to make up the hours from the day before, hours that she had missed because of the SAT, she had gotten up very early and had now been at the stables since six o’clock. She estimated that it was close to noon now. She’d given each of the horses a very long brush down, mucked out the stables, and done some other chores that were really necessary.

She wanted to finish soon to get back to the dorm. She needed to take a shower before lunch and then Willow and she had special plans. They where going to try a new spell together. It would be the first time that they tried to join their powers as the only other time was when Tara had taught and guided Willow’s work with lighting the fire at the B&B.

Now, she heard voices entering the stable and prepared to get horses ready for the riders. She was not surprised to see Michelle and Emma enter the stable: “Hey y’all going for a ride today? Where’s James?”

Emma spoke first, “Hey Tara. Yeah, we wanted to ride for a little while. Burn off some energy. James is studying.”

Noting Michelle’s smile, Tara turned to the girl, “Hey, what’s up with you? You look like you have some secret. Someone new for you?”

Michelle continued smiling, “Not yet. But I do have a little secret. It’s outside, come on,” she called out, turning to leave the stable as Tara pulled on her coat from the hook by the door. Emma walked right into Tara’s back as she had stopped in the doorway, shocked to see Willow standing a few feet from the corral.

Willow smiled, “Hey.”

Walking over to her girlfriend Tara could not contain her joy or surprise, “hey yourself Willow. What’s up?” she asked hugging the redhead tightly.

Willow was obviously nervous as she answered, “Well Michelle and Emma said they were coming down to ride and you had said you were going to be finishing working about noon and then we could go and do that thing.” Although Tara noted Emma and Michelle glance down giggling when Willow said that, Willow apparently did not as she babbled on: “So anyway, I thought it would be a good surprise and I brought a picnic lunch and maybe you would like to have a picnic and I could come with them and there’d be three of you down here and no arm-biting and you would probably like to show me your horse and everything and uh well, so here I am,” she finally winded down.

Tara took Willow’s hand in her own before speaking: “Willow, I can’t b-b-believe you came down here. That means so much to me and I’d love to have a picnic lunch and show you Chestnut. Goddess you are amazing.” She leaned forward pressing her lips to Willow’s. Wrapping her arms around the redhead, she threaded her hands into that wavy red hair, holding her girlfriend close to her. Slowly, she parted her lips, darting her tongue out to tease Willow’s lips, nipping at her bottom lip with her teeth. As Willow parted her lips, Tara flicked her tongue against the inside of her teeth, roaming around her mouth and eventually deep inside. Enjoying the feel of Tara’s tongue in her mouth, Willow lightly sucked on its tip, hearing Tara moan in the response. As the two drew back from the kiss to lean their foreheads together, Tara laughed, “I guess Michelle and Emma went to get their horses.”

“Yeah, nothing to see here folks, move it along,” Willow joked back.

Tara took Willow’s hand saying, “ok sweetie, I’ll bring Chestnut out. Why don’t you stand on the outside of the coral and if you want to get closer you can ok?” Willow nodded, moving a few feet back from the fence.

As Tara entered the stable, she approached the other girls who were now saddling their horses: “I-I-I don’t know what y’all did or said but t-t-thank you.”

Michelle smiled back at the blonde, “We didn’t do that much. Just sat near Willow at breakfast talking about how we were coming down and would probably see you and how happy you always are with the horses. Then we casually asked her if she wanted to come with us and she said ok.” Tara gave her a quick hug, saying, “well thank you. Y’all have n-n-no idea how much it means to me.” Turning toward her horse, she finished, “y’all enjoy your ride.”

Tara led Chestnut through the stable and out into the corral watching Willow carefully. The redhead stood very still a few feet from the fence. The blonde led the horse to the edge of the corral before stopping to climb over and join Willow. As she held out her hand to allow the horse to take something from her, she held out her other hand to her girlfriend who stepped forward to take it. “She’s eating a sugar cube from my hand. Would you like to give her one?” she asked gently.

Willow shook her head but didn’t back up. A moment later, she asked, “will you ride her for a minute so I can watch?”

Backing from the fence, Tara kissed Willow lightly before squeezing her hand, “sure baby. I’ll just ride her around the coral ok?” She climbed the fence again, moving directly onto the horse’s back before moving to make a few light laps around the corral. As she neared the edge of the coral, dropping lightly off Chestnut and back to Willow, she noted with surprise that Willow was crying.

“Hey sweetie,” Tara asked, “what’s with the tears?” She asked as she pulled the smaller girl into an embrace.

Willow hugged her back for a minute before brushing her hand across her eyes. “You look really beautiful. I love watching you and you look so happy. It makes me happy to see you happy, you know?”

Tara nodded giving the redhead a look of absolute understanding: “Believe me, I know the feeling. It’s like watching you work on your computer or talking about your friends in Sunnydale and your adventures. I love seeing you happy.” Hugging Willow, she continued, “Let me put Chestnut away and we can go on that picnic. I want to ask you something too, ok?”

Having put away her horse, Tara quickly rejoined Willow by the corral and took her hand as they walked towards the woods. “So do you want to eat first or try the spell?” she asked the redhead, allowing Willow to lead them.” As they walked, Tara had become aware immediately that Willow was moving toward the spot where the blonde always did her monthly ritual. As they neared the trees, she wondered how close her girlfriend would come to the exact location.

Willow answered carefully, “well, I really want to do the spell but I think you need to eat something since you were out here working so early and headache yesterday and everything so let’s eat first.” As they reached a bare spot in the middle of a clump of trees, she indicated the ground, “how about here? It’s really pretty and there’s kind of a natural circle.”

Grabbing Willow in a hug, she caught her totally off guard, “you are amazing sweetie.”

Dropping the blanket and picnic bag, Willow was lost, “uh ok. Amazing me. Why? What did I do?”

As Tara began laying out the blanket, she explained: “this is the exact spot where I do my ritual every month. It’s a great and wonderful and beautiful location for magic and harnessing magic energy and renewal. I can’t believe that you sensed it and moved directly to it. Actually, maybe I should start believing things like that.”

“Wow,” Willow responded, “is it too private? Should we move honey?”

Tara grasped Willow’s hand, pulling her to the ground, “no. It’s perfect and now we can share this spot. Let’s eat ok?”

Laying out the lunch, both girls started eating and visiting very lightly about the morning. Suddenly, Willow remembered something important, “Hey, you wanted to ask me something. What? Is it a surprise? A question? What’s up?”

Tara laughed to see Willow’s child come out again. “Well, do you know what this Thursday is?”

“Hmmm. Well, let me see. It’s the day after this Wednesday and the day before Friday? No that probably isn’t it. It’s the first time this month that the date is the product of a 3*3*2. No that isn’t it. It’s six days till we leave for Sunnydale? Well, let me think, maybe it’s that it will be exactly 2 months or 61 days or 1464 hours since our first kiss.” Pausing for a second she finished, “no baby, what is this Thursday?” Of course, it had become harder and harder to understand what Willow was saying as Tara tickled the redhead while she was speaking.

As Willow finally held up her hand to indicate that she needed a break to return to breathing, Tara released her: “Ok, Ms Willow Rosenberg Vixeny Genius. Yes, this Thursday is our two month anniversary. Will you go out with me on Friday to celebrate?”

Brushing her hand down Tara’s cheek, Willow answered, “Any time, any place with you baby. Have you got something planned or do you want to plan it together?”

Tara kissed the redhead, smiling, “oh I’ve got something planned for us. You will have to trust me a little but I think it will be wonderful, ok?”

Willow lay on her side on the blanket, nodding. “Sure that sounds great. And then Wednesday we leave for your folks and Sunnydale. Are you excited about it?”

Tara thought for a moment before answering: “Well, I’m excited but I’m nervous.”

“Nervous about my meeting your folks you mean?” Willow asked.

Tara answered quickly: “What? No. I mean, no. They’ll l-l-love you as much as I … I mean they’ll love you and I’ll love h-h-having you there. I’m nervous about meeting your f-f-friends. I mean I know you’re excited to have me there. But you have a history with them and everything and you’ve been through so m-m-much. I mean, your best friend is the slayer. THE V-v-vampire Slayer. And Xander’s been your best friend forever and you know slayers and vampires and werewolves. Like on a f-f-first-name basis.

And I feel a little out-of-the loop on the whole thing. I mean are they f-f-friendly to witches? And I don’t understand about Buffy’s b-b-boyfriend. Here’s what I’ve gleaned. He was her boyfriend. He killed your fish, he killed J-j-jenny, you cursed him, Buffy killed him? I feel like there are big holes in my knowledge and what if I say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing or something? Or remind Buffy of this guy she loved and had to kill and maybe she m-m-misses him now?”

Willow sat up cross-legged on the blanket indicating that Tara should lay down with her head in the redhead’s lap. “Wow, I’m sorry that my story hasn’t made more sense. Would it help if I explained the thing with Angel better?” As she talked, she started running her fingers through the blonde’s hair.

As Tara nodded, Willow began speaking: “Ok. Wow, this is a kind of long story but I’ll try to readers digest it. Too bad we weren’t on a TV show and I could just show you the DVD but instead I’ll try to explain what last year was like.

Buffy and Angel were an item from our sophomore year. He’s a vampire and over 200 years old. From what Giles says, he was a particularly evil and sadistic vampire and had two good vampire friends: Spike and Drusilla. Spike’s a real jerk and Drusilla is a total nutcase. About 80 years ago, he was cursed with his soul. Since then, he’s been a basically ‘good’ vampire, not feeding on humans or anything. But the curse had a catch: one moment of pure happiness and he looses his soul. Dumb curse huh? Sure dumb curse.

On Buffy’s 17th birthday they made love for the first time. It was really special for her because it was her first and everything. Only guess what? He lost his soul at that moment and returned to being the same sadistic evil vampire he used to be. Well, it turns out that Jenny was from the clan that cursed him originally and was sent to Sunnydale to watch him. She failed and he lost his soul. He tried to kill all of us of course. With Jenny, he succeeded. He didn’t want her to re-curse him. But she found the curse before she died and I found it in her computer stuff.

So he tormented Buffy throughout the year. Drusilla killed Kendra and then he got this big Kafla monster thing that he was going to use to end the world. Well, I tried to curse him and failed but Buffy succeeded in killing him. The world didn’t end but she was so heartbroken that she ran away.

Questions? Comments?”

Tara responded thoughtfully, “hmmm, not a ringing endorsement for making love is it?”

Willow playfully tousled Tara’s hair, “well that’s a radical interpretation of the text. I mean nothing wrong with making love. I mean uh, ok, foot in mouth now. Ok, let’s interpret like this: not a good idea to make love with a vampire who is cursed with a soul?”

Sitting up to look Willow in the eye, Tara placed her hands gently on the redhead’s cheeks: “No sweetie, nothing wrong with making love.” She waited a moment to ensure that Willow got what she was saying before kissing her gently. Pulling back she asked, “so what now? Is Buffy dating someone else or just single or what?”

Willow thought for a moment before answering, “well, I guess she’s just single. She talks about hanging out with Xander and with Faith and about the slayage but hasn’t mentioned another guy. She had a few dates with a cute guy from school, Scott, but that wasn’t anything. So I guess once burned, you know?”

Tara nodded, laying her head in Willow’s lap once again, “Yeah. I can understand that. Plus which it sounds like she really loved him so it’s probably really hard to compete with that, you know? But are you nervous about my meeting your friends?”

Resuming playing with the blonde’s hair, Willow smiled, “Not at all. As you said, I know they’ll love you as much as I, uh, hey, how about that spell?”

“Yes that spell,” Tara agreed, but not before kissing her girlfriend deeply. They drew back to lock blue eyes on green, both aware of the words neither had completed but that were so obviously true.

Willow pulled the spell ingredients from her bag: powders and herbs, 2 crystals, and a rose. As she pulled the last item from the bag, she held it out to Tara, “I didn’t know if this would work well for a focus.”

Tara took from the redhead the stone she had given her for her birthday, “Oh sweetie, that’s a great idea. I’m not sure it can hold the focus right now but if we tie it in, we can infuse it over a few spells.”

The two women worked together to lay out the ingredients. As they checked and rechecked their work, both agreed that it was ready. Linking hands over the rose, they locked eyes and began to synchronize their breathing. They had barely touched when both girls felt a power rush through them. At first, Willow felt scared by the feeling, by the intensity. It was almost like when she cursed Angel, but she quickly identified a different feeling to this magic: lightness.

Willow concentrated on the energy and the power as it rushed through her body and soul. It quickened her breath and made her skin tingle. She started to sweat as she could feel the closeness and connection with Tara and her magic. Every part of her body felt attuned to blonde and their shared magic.

Again, Tara was not surprised at the strength of their connection during the spell. In the short time since the fire-starting spell, it was obvious that Willow had been reading the book and harnessing her energy. Her energy was much stronger and the power of the curse energy was receding. The blonde could feel Willow’s energy coursing through her body and soul. The redhead was totally open, allowing Tara access to every energy center in her body. Tara felt her body’s unmistakable responses as her skin hummed with arousal and her nipples stood at attention.

Willow began to pull softly at Tara’s energy, attempting to get the blonde to share it more evenly. Finding resistance, she responded by pouring her energy more fully into the spell and the connection. As she did, she moved to another energy level within the blonde and finding that level completely open, she moved swiftly to fill the space. Their energy forms locked together tightly in a perfect synchronization.

As Willow first moved her energy seeking, Tara could not believe that the redhead had that much instinctual knowledge. But, feeling the locked energy, she understood that neither woman needed guidance. They needed no guidance to understand how their energy merged, how they fit together. Understanding the perfection of their connection, she opened herself fully, pulling Willow’s energy into her soul while pressing hers deeply into the redhead.

The increased energy flow took over both women’s bodies as they allowed the power to flow through and over them in waves. Tightening their hands, they felt the final explosion simultaneously and shared the waves of continuing pleasure.

Tara opened her eyes to take in Willow’s dazed ones staring back at her. Glancing down, she noted the rose petals arranged in a heart shape between them with the rose stem forming an arrow through the heart. “Um wow,” she gasped.

As Willow tried to control her breathing she tried to answer, “Uh, wow. Uh, I mean look at the rose. Beautiful.” Releasing Tara’s hand to brush hers down the blonde’s face she stared into her blue eyes: “That was beautiful my love.” Her words were almost cut off by Tara’s mouth on hers, desperately seeking a continuation of the connection they had just ended.
