Hey everyone!
Thanks again to everyone who has read my story.
snuggle79 Thank you. I'm glad that you liked how the Scoobie gang got the girls to catch the bouquet and garter. I was really hoping that I did a good job on that scene.
AmbeRocks Thank you so much. I'm happy that my story has that hook element. I was hoping to write a fic that would keep the readers interest.
intricate mirage Thank you Cassie! Your feedback rocks!
KinKness Thank you so much. I happy that my writing makes your heart melt. In a good way...not in a "OH MY GOD! MY HEART IS MELTING!" Painful, deadly kind of way. Yes, Buffy is a danger to anyone on the road. I wouldn't leave my house if she ever got behind the wheel. Anyway, joking aside thank you. I glad that my story touches you.
willowsgirl Thank you for the kind words. You won't have to wait long.
The Rose24 Thank you. The Scoobie gang always had such a close bond. That loving friendship was lost somewhere in Season 6 so I wanted to revive it in my story. And yes, Willow and Tara are truly finding their way back to each other.
good2cats Hi Karen. I'm glad that you liked the bouquet and garter scene. I do promise more Willow and Tara smoochies soon. And it means a lot that you think I'm doing a good job rewriting Season 6. I really wanted to make right all of Joss's screw-ups. Writing this story was my solace. That is until I find the bastard Whedon, hang him up on a tree by his ankles and beat him with a tree branch. Wanna help?
Spot Thank you so much Michelle. I'm happy that I could make your heart do flips.
And on on to Part 3...
Title: And It Went A Little Something Like This

Summary: This is my happy-ending scenario of Season 6.
Notes: This is my first Willow and Tara fanfic.
~ Part 3 ~
Tara rushed around her room, gathering her books for class and searching for her notes. She doubled back to her desk, moving several books and papers out of the way. She opened the top drawer and shuffled through more papers, pendants, and magical stones when she suddenly stopped in her rummaging. She caught sight of something that earned a time out in her search for her notes.
This is so cool. I've been trying to find the Dolls Eye Crystal my entire life. Well, since June anyway.
Willow’s voice echoed in Tara’s mind as she thought back to the conversation she had with the hacker that morning in the student center almost two years ago. Tara touched the crystal with reverence, feeling it's smooth outline as she brushed her knuckles across it. She smiled as she picked up the crystal and rolled it in-between the palm of her hands.
< That night you came to my room. We used the crystal in a spell you wanted to try out. Then we shared my bed and I fell asleep wrapped in your arms. That morning I felt complete. It was like all of the events in my life had led me to that moment when she kissed me on my cheek as you said goodbye. You hugged me and kept me locked in the safety of your arms for just a moment. I'll never forget the feeling in my heart when the heat from your body flowed into every part of my being and filled me with love. >
~*~ Flashback ~*~
“Willow!” Tara gasped in shock, her heart starting to pound like a jackhammer against her ribs. Willow smiled nervously.
“A funny thing happened with my prior social engagement. Pretty much ended when a friend of mine went off to do something with another crowd she hangs out with.”
Willow started quietly.
“Irony's kind of ironic that way.” She joked half-heartedly. “Anyway, I know it's late, but I thought, maybe, if you still wanted to…do something?” She smiled and felt her heart beating a mile-a-minute. She prayed to any pantheon that was listening to let Tara forgive her.
Tara was speechless at that moment. She couldn’t believe Willow was standing here so apologetic and very adorable. The blonde witch smiled as she opened the door to let the hacker inside. Willow returned Tara’s smile and stepped into the room, watching as the blonde closed the door behind her. Tara had forgiven her but did she deserve her forgiveness?
“I’m really sorry.” Willow began to apologize again when Tara reached for her hand and squeezed it gently.
“It’s okay Willow. I understand.” Tara didn’t need an apology from Willow. She was just happy to have the charming redhead in her presence again.
The girls sat on Tara’s bed and talked about their classes and about the Scooby-Circle. The night that they had floated the rose, Willow had told Tara about the Hellmouth and about the Scoobies. She had trusted the blonde witch and was very impressed to learn that Tara knew a lot about the Hellmouth and the Slayer mythology. Willow spent the rest of the evening talking about high school and all the weirdness that entered her life after she befriended Buffy Summers.
Even after talking for a little while Willow still felt guilty and she once again apologized.
“I’m still really sorry for brushing you off. It’s just that Buffy had made plans with Xander and me tonight. Y’know, quality Scooby time. We were going to hang and catch up…we’ve kind of drifted apart these last few weeks. Anyway, Buffy didn’t show, Xander and his girlfriend Anya wanted to leave but I kept on reassuring them that she would show and that she was only running late. Anyway, after she was an hour late, Buffy finally showed up…except, she had brought her new brigade with her. Her new brigade being Riley and the commandos. Anya felt uncomfortable around them and even I couldn’t blame her for that. Xander took her to dance while Buffy and I talked for a good two seconds before she started beeping and had to run off with her Avengers to save the world or something.”
Willow was pouting as she babbled. She looked up at Tara and saw an amused glint in her sparkling blue eyes. That made the hacker smile.
“You really should stop me when I start to babble.”
Tara giggled and gazed deeply into Willow’s green eyes.
“I think you’re cute when you babble.” Tara blushed. She was surprised by her own admission.
“Really?” Willow asked, her grin widening into a smile.
Tara smiled softly and gave Willow a bashful nod. The hacker felt like she was going to melt and before she did, she looked down at the bed, noticing for the first time the notebooks and books spread out on the mattress.
“What are you studying?” Willow reached for the book and placed it in her lap as she sat cross-legged on Tara’s bed.
“World History. I have an exam on Monday.” Tara watched as Willow grabbed the notebook that was closes to her. It was a large, black notebook that was opened to the first blank page. Tara's eyes widened in panic as she realized that the redhead had grabbed her sketchbook.
“That's the wrong notebook. These are my history notes here.” Tara said, gently taking her sketchbook out of Willow's hands and replacing it with a smaller, purple notebook.
Willow noticed the not so subtle way that Tara was trying to hide the black notebook and it sparked her curiosity. “So what's in that notebook?”
“It's nothing.” Tara said scrambling to close her sketchbook.
“Nothing, huh? Well if it's nothing then why are you hiding it?” Willow asked trying to reach for the notebook.
Tara quickly stood up from the bed and backed away. The hacker also stood and moved purposefully toward her friend. Tara pivoted as Willow went to reach for the notebook. She stepped back until she bumped into her bed, not realizing that she had made a complete turn and was back where she started.
“Nowhere to run!” Willow dashed towards Tara, knocking her back onto the bed and ending up on top of her.
“So are you going to tell me what's in the notebook?” The hacker grinned mischievously down at Tara who was speechless.
Tara was shocked that Willow was on top of her and the question didn't even register in her mind. It wasn't until she felt the redhead's fingers sliding up her sides that the blonde witch understood Willow's intentions.
“Well if you're not talking willingly, I'll have to turn to my own methods of persuasion.” The hacker had a devilish glint in her eyes.
Willow pinned Tara between her knees and began tickling the blonde’s sides. Tara squirmed underneath the hacker for a good solid two minutes until finally, the blonde witch relented.
“Okay, okay! I'll let you see what's in the notebook.” Tara said breathlessly.
Willow sat up and went to reach for the notebook that Tara was holding in a death-grip. Tara seized the opportunity and flipped the hacker onto her back. The blonde quickly dropped the notebook to the bed and pinned Willow’s hands above her head.
“Hey!” Willow protested half-heartedly. After all she didn’t mind their position…no indeed.
“Turnabout is fair game.” Tara said giggling.
Willow giggled too, but slowly stopped as she noticed the nearness of Tara’s face to her own. Tara’s blonde hair cascaded over her shoulders, tickling the hacker’s cheeks. Willow licked her lips and slightly shivered as Tara’s breath cooled her now moistened lips. The hacker felt all of her senses coming to life and her body became heated. She swallowed the moan that was caught in her throat as she struggled to keep the desire from showing on her face.
Time almost stopped as Tara stared into Willow’s eyes. The blonde witch noticed as Willow’s breathing became slightly shallow. Her eyes dilated and the green hues became a deeper, darker emerald that she had never seen before. What had started out a playful game of cat and mouse was slowly escalating into something more intimate.
Tara was unable to do anything but slowly lower her head. She felt her heart begin to beat faster as Willow lifted her head up towards hers. Tara paused for the briefest of seconds and licked her lips, wondering if this was really happening. At that moment Willow snapped out of her trance, and her eyes went wide.
< Oh god! What am I doing? I was about to kiss Tara! I’m trying to get her notebook and here I am turning all hormone-driven just because she feels so good lying on top of me. God, Tara is so sexy. I have to get up! If I don’t get up I’m not going to be able to stop myself from ravaging her right here! >
Willow shifted out from underneath the blonde, braking the spell that was holding them in the moment. Tara was too stunned by the loss of Willow’s body to put up any resistance.
< Oh, Goddess! I was about to kiss Willow! What if she feels uncomfortable now? What if she never wants to talk to me or see me ever again!? I shouldn’t have…but goddess she looked really sexy. >
Tara handed Willow her notebook without a second thought and the redhead sat up. Tara rolled off of the hacker, who moved to sit beside her. Willow’s mind began to race again.
< Now what? Should I pretend that nothing happened? What if I give her the wrong impression? What if she thinks that I didn’t want to kiss her and she never tries to make another move on me again? Hmm, Tara-moves. I’d like to see a few of those. >
Willow quickly shook her head and jarred all the naughty thoughts from her mind. She focused instead on the notebook in her hands and turned to the first page.
Tara watched as she opened the notebook and was relieved that Willow didn’t ask about what just happened. The hacker either hadn’t noticed or she didn’t want to make a big deal about it. Whatever the reason Tara was grateful for the few seconds she had gotten to collect herself.
“Tara, this is your sketchbook.” It had been a statement instead of a question. Willow flipped through the different drawing in Tara’s sketchbook. She had seen most Tara’s sketches before and she wondered why the blonde witch had been trying to hide them now.
As Willow turned to one of the last pages she failed to notice the nervous look that crossed Tara's face. The hacker turned to the last drawing in the sketchbook and her eyes went wide. It was a portrait done in colored pastels and the subject in the picture was none other then herself.
< This is me! Wow! Tara actually took the time to sketch me. >
In the sketch Willow had her arms crossed and she was resting her upper body on a table. Her chin rested on her forearm and she was staring off into the distance. Her fiery hair flowed over her sparkling green eyes. Tara didn't miss a single highlight, making Willow's hair shimmer like a flame in the afternoon sunlight. The hacker’s face was calm, and her eyes held a spark that belonged solely to the quirky redhead.
< Why would she choose me? I'm sure there are plenty of other... >
Willow’s thoughts trailed off as she studied the beautifully done portrait of herself. She noticed that it held something that the other sketches didn't. She could tell by the careful strokes of the color the effort that Tara had put into drawing this picture. She had gotten every last detail perfect, even the freckles around the redhead's nose.
“Tara, this is beautiful.”
“I had a beautiful subject.” Tara whispered as she stared at Willow’s face, trying to read her emotions through her reaction.
Willow looked up and saw the intensity of Tara's deep blue eyes. The blonde witch blushed, but didn't look away. Willow's face softened and she smiled affectionately.
“Do I really look this beautiful in your eyes?” Willow was the one to whisper now.
“You’re an incredible person Willow. The brilliance I see in your soul…the loveliness of your body. I don't think the greatest of artists could capture such beauty in a simple drawing. I just did the best I could.”
Willow was taken aback by Tara's response. No one had ever said anything so romantic to her, not even Oz. Willow reached up to touch Tara's face. Her fingertips glided gently across the blonde's jaw, feeling the soft skin. Tara's hand came up and covered the hacker's, pressing her cheek into Willow's palm. The blonde's blue eyes slipped closed as she reveled in the soft touch.
“Tara…”
Willow let out a shaky breath as those beautiful blue eyes opened to look at her with hooded-lids, so inviting. Willow looked away from the girl shyly. She looked around the room nervously, suddenly noticing the Dolls-Eye crystal on the nightstand.
“Do you want to do a spell? I have this idea I want to try out with flower petals and colored sand. It should be very pretty.”
Willow causally and quickly changed the subject. Tara looked at the hacker questionably but after a moment she nodded and picked up the Dolls Eye Crystal.
“Sure.” Tara replied. Whatever was happening between them, it was up to Willow to initiate it. Tara was happy to give the redhead a chance to figure it out.
~*~ End of Flashback ~*~
That night Tara and Willow used the different colored sands to conjure up fireworks and then made a shower of flower petals. Tara would never forget how romantic it had been as she and the hacker had curled up in bed to watch the shower of flower petals fall from the roof like raindrops.
Tara replaced the crystal in its drawer and beside it she found the blue notebook she had been searching for. She quickly skimmed through the notes to make sure she had everything. When she was satisfied that she was ready, Tara closed the notebook and she smiled.
On the cover of the notebook were written the words: Tara + Willow = 4ever.
Tara traced the words that she recognized as Willow's handwriting with her fingers. She let out a quiet sigh and then moved to her bed. Grabbing the rest of her books, Tara stashed the notebook in her bag, tossed the same bag over her shoulder and hurried out the door.

An hour later Willow was standing outside of Tara's lecture hall, waiting for her ex-lover to leave class once it ended. Her face was a portrait of anxiety as she stood in the hallway going over countless ways to approach Tara.
“Hi, um, Tara, how are you? I was wondering, maybe, if you want to go out sometime... for coffee, food, kisses and gay love?”
Willow quickly shook her head, trying to think clearly through all the lusty fantasies her mind kept inadvertently inserting into her train of thought. These little fantasies caused her reasonable and logical approach to a decent conversation to get derailed.
< Okay Rosenberg, try a different approach, one that won't confuse Tara into thinking that you're a hormone-driven adolescent. > Willow took a deep breath and tried again.
“Hi Tara, guess what? Magic free now for 'insert number of days' now.” The hacker again shook her head. < No. Maybe I shouldn't mention the magics. >
Just then the door leading into the lecture hall opened and the students began to file into the hallway. As soon as Willow's eyes landed on the object of her desire she moved forward without delay. The redhead hurried up to Tara and placed her hand on the blonde's shoulder. Tara turned and was greeted by Willow's brilliant smile, which she returned with equal intensity.
“Hey.” Tara greeted her ex-lover cheerfully.
“Hey. Look at you. All, coming out of class and everything.” Willow nervously giggled as she stated the obvious.
“I do that sometimes. Usually at the end part of the class…”
Willow and Tara fell into a fit of giggles, both witches excited to be together. Willow could feel her heart pounding in her chest, and her palms felt sweaty. She forgot what she wanted to say to Tara when another lusty fantasy entered her thoughts.
Willow dropped her books and grabbed Tara’s books, tossing them over her shoulder. The hacker then grabbed her lover and pushed her into the wall and began to kiss her passionately.
Willow again had to jar the vision from her mind as she tried to focus on Tara…in a non-sexual way. Meanwhile Tara was praying that she wouldn't stutter. If she stuttered then Willow would know that she was nervous. She didn't want her ex-lover to get the wrong impression and think that she didn't want to be around her. Especially since the only thing that Tara wanted to do was fall into Willow's embrace and kiss her until the world stopped turning. After a long moment Willow broke the silence.
“Tara, I wanted…” Before Willow could say another word a girl came walking down the hall calling out Tara's name. Tara turned to the other girl and smiled.
“Hi Amanda!” Tara greeted the other girl happily.
< Amanda? > Willow eyed the approaching girl with more loathing in her green orbs then she had ever directed to anything let alone a hell beastie or vampire.
Amanda approached Tara and gave her a quick hello kiss on the cheek. Neither Tara nor this “Hellmouth Spawn” as Willow quickly labeled her, noticed the jealously that flared to life in the hacker's narrowed eyes as she glared at the newcomer.
“Amanda, this is Willow.” Tara said touching Willow’s shoulder and rubbing the plane softly. The touch eased the hacker’s fury but only for a moment until the redhead heard the hellish woman speak.
“Hi.” Amanda greeted Willow cheerfully.
“Hey.” Willow was less enthusiastic as she tried to hide the urge to magic her fist through the nearest wall. The hacker purposefully stepped closer to Tara and fought the urge to take her blonde witch into her arms and scream to Amanda:
< MINE! She's mine! You can't have her! >
The possessive move was not lost on Tara. Willow was asserting her prior claim and the blonde witch gave the hacker a brilliant smile before turning back to Amanda, who was completely oblivious.
< Oh my, jealous Willow. This should be interesting. >
“I just wanted to let you know that Robin canceled study group today and moved it to tomorrow.” Amanda glanced at her watch before continuing. “Anyway, I'd better go. I'm running late for my next class.”
< Maybe you wouldn't be running late if you hadn't stopped to flirt with my girl. > Willow thought as she broke out into a full-blown pout.
“I'll call you later Tara! Willow it was nice meeting you!” Amanda smiled sweetly at both witches before she hurried down the hall.
“You too.” Willow said with a fake sweetness in her voice and in her mind added, < Not! >
“Bye Amanda.” Tara shouted after the other girl and then returned her attention back to Willow, noticing that the scowl had not left the hacker's face.
“She seemed...nice.” Willow spit the last word out like it was venom and Tara had to cough back a fit of laughter.
“Amanda is sweetie. I met her in my study group last month. She's been helping me out.”
“Great!” Willow sounded a little more sarcastic then she had planned. She was the one who was supposed to help Tara and kiss Tara. The hacker hadn’t been surprised by the grip of jealousy she experienced when she saw Amanda kiss Tara’s cheek. She was surprised however, when she heard Tara giggling.
“What?” Willow asked Tara giving the blonde an amused sideways glance.
“Did I ever tell you how sexy you look when you get jealous?” Tara grinned mischievously at the hacker. She stepped closer to Willow and wrapped her arm around the hacker’s as they began to walk down the hall together.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Willow gave Tara a flirtatious look and grinned playfully. Tara also grinned but didn’t comment as she leaned closer to the hacker.
“So were you jealous?” Tara whispered into the hacker's ear, taking pride in the way Willow shivered as her breath tickled her neck.
“Oh, um, various sounds of hesitation.” Willow truly didn’t know what to say. She was surprised that she was able to form words at all.
“She was just a friend.” Tara confirmed, trying to ease Willow’s internal fears.
“Friends are nice.” Willow said sheepishly.
“You looked like you wanted to, I don’t know…magic your fist through a wall or something.” Tara was smiling but the statement had been slightly serious.
< How did she know? > Willow briefly wondered before she answered her ex-lover.
“Officially, I have to say I have no idea what you're talking about.” Willow decided to play dumb, figuring it was the best course of action.
“Unofficially?” Tara asked, giving Willow her sexy half-grin and hooded-eyes. The hacker smiled, feeling the tingling in her tummy when she saw the sensual sparkle in the blonde’s blue eyes. Tara’s playful flirting gave Willow the boost of confidence she needed.
“We should have coffee some time. Whenever you’re free?” Willow’s confidence flowed freely from her at first but the last question had been asked in a shy, quiet tone.
“I'm free right now.” At that moment Tara was inwardly thanking Amanda for informing her that study group had been canceled.
“That's great!” Willow was ecstatic. She was doing a happy dance inside. For a long moment both witches stood in the hallway giggling and giddy. Their bodies were humming with anticipation.
“Coffee.” Tara started giggling again as she fidgeted with the books in her arms.
“With us,” Willow blushed as she thought, < who can be more than just friends. >
* * *
Willow walked home that night feeling like she was on cloud nine thousand and nine. Snippets of her coffee date with Tara ran through her mind.
“Okay, wait, it was under her wig?”
“Well, it was this thing, and it just came out from inside her head.”
“That's disgusting. What did it look like?”
“Well... let's put it this way. If I wasn't gay before...”
“God. And this was after the invisible ray?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay, I'm gone for a couple of months...”
“Oh, did I tell you about the demon eggs?”
“See. Now I know you're just trying to make me jealous.”
She hadn't felt this good in months. Spending time with the blonde witch was healing all the open wounds in her heart. It was like Tara was filling her soul with life and light again. Not even the most powerful of magics could make Willow feel as alive as she did right now.
< I love that woman. I swear I'm going to prove myself to her...no mater how long it takes. You saved me Tara. I’d be lost without you. I want us to have the storybook ending you’ve dreamed about since you were a little girl. It’s time for this knight in causal wear to sweep you off your feet. >
Willow walked into the Summers house and went into the living room. She stopped, concern flooding her eyes when she saw Dawn, Xander, and a very unhappy Anya all sitting on the couch. Across from them was Buffy. The Slayer looked spooked, and a spooked Slayer is never a good thing.
“Hey. What's going on?” Willow asked as she looked over the distressed bunch anxiously.
Anya looked like she was ready to spit fire out her mouth. She had her arms crossed over her chest and she was sitting next to Xander, looking like a child who had been given time out and had her favorite toy taken away. She was the one to answer Willow's question.
“Buffy's insane.” The indifference that Anya was famous for was present in her words.
“Anya!” Xander barked at his wife.
* * *
A while later Xander had filled Willow in on the Crazy Buffy situation. The hacker spent a few hours researching after she had convinced Xander to take Anya home and continue their honeymoon. Of course, Xander had made the hacker promise to call him if they needed him. After they went home, Willow sent Dawn to bed and started researching.
An hour later, Willow had found the demon that Buffy had described and printed out the information that the Scoobies would need to track it down. After doing so, the redhead went up to Buffy's room and they talked.
“So you had coffee?” The Slayer had initiated a friendly, normal, best friend conversation after they had talked about the demon. Buffy really didn’t want to dwell on the idea that she might be insane. The Slayer was thankful when Willow had humored her.
“Yeah, I invited her this morning.” Willow tried to hide her grin and failed miserably.
“Coffee is good.” Buffy smiled. She was feeling better then she had all day and having her best friend keep her company was really helping.
“Yep.” Willow grinned cheekily.
“So things are going good. You two are talking again.” The Slayer was genuinely interested to know how her favorite witchy couple was progressing.
“Yeah! It's all good! All with the goodness!” Willow declared happily.
Buffy saw the love that sparkled in Willow’s green eyes whenever the redhead talked about Tara. The Slayer hoped that the little push that she and the other Scoobies had given the couple was the little push that they needed to find their way back to each other.
“Tara is amazing. She deserves the best and I want to prove to her that I can give it to her.” Willow said with great resolve.
“When I’m around her I feel like everything is right in the world. I look into her eyes and I find a piece of heaven in her gaze. When she touches me I feel worshipped and when we…” Willow stopped when she noticed the way Buffy was looking at her with both eyebrows raised. The hacker coughed slightly and cleared her throat.
“Sorry…that kind of fell into the ‘too much information’ category, didn’t it?”
Buffy didn’t answer. Instead she gave Willow an amused grin as the hacker took a moment to compose herself. Buffy’s thoughts started floating back to Spike. The thing with Spike was really starting to worry the Slayer. She didn’t want to keep going back to the chipped vampire. Especially when she had a family who loved her and would help her.
“I miss how we used to be. We used to share everything.” Buffy said absent-mindedly. She hadn’t even meant for the words to be spoken aloud but it was too late to take them back.
“I know. I miss it too. These last few months, we’ve all drifted apart. We’re not kids anymore. We have responsibilities and we each needed to grow up. I just wish we didn’t need to do it alone.”
Willow took Buffy’s hand and squeezed it. The gesture was comforting and familiar.
“Buffy we’re family. Putting aside all of the badness that has happened these last few months we’re still family. It’s time for this family to start taking better care of each other.”
Buffy couldn't agree with Willow more. Slowly the Slayer smiled. Willow’s words had warmed her heart. Buffy wanted to tell Willow everything. She felt it was the right time and she knew she was ready to tell her best friend about Spike. It was time that she was honest with the Scoobies. They were her family, if she couldn't turn to them, who could she turn to?
“Will, there's something that I need to tell you.” The Slayer’s voice was small and she suddenly looked fragile.
“What is it Buffy? You can tell me anything.” Willow hadn’t released Buffy’s hand, keeping their connection unbroken.
“There's something that you need to know...about me and Spike.” Buffy took a deep breath and began.
Willow and Buffy talked for hours. The Slayer felt like a weight had been lifted off of her. All her fears were quickly laid to rest when the hacker hugged her. The embrace had been solacing and reassuring. Buffy had explained that Tara already knew and why. Willow and Buffy then agreed to tell Xander and Anya when they returned from their honeymoon. The Slayer wanted to tell Dawn alone.
Buffy and Willow continued talking, their conversation happier and lighter than the last. The Slayer wanted all the juicy details about Willow’s coffee date with Tara and the hacker was more than happy to share with her best friend. They felt like they were back in High School. The distance that the last few months had placed between them had suddenly been conquered.
