Great begining, I look foward to seeing how the plot develops around the title. Keep it up. :)

Re: UPDATE

Postby ExtraFlameyWT » Sat Apr 13, 2002 1:20 am

I'm sorry, I'm not going to have the next update up until tonight. I'm kinda having trouble pulling the last of it together. I promise I'll have it up late tonight. I would have it up by this afternoon, but I won't be near a computer until late.

I'm sorry, I hope the chapter will make up for it. I think I'll post two parts.

**Sela-Thank you for the feedback... I was worried at first that no one liked it.

**Bobos mom-I'm glad you like it (I promise Willow and Tara WILL find eachother. It may take a little time, but there will be a happy ending.) :)

**tommo-Thanks! I didn't know whether I was getting Willowbabble or anything right.

**xita-Thank you... I definitely agree with you, Willow excited over Tara is very good! hehe, "Go Willow!"

**mollyig-Thanks for all of your feedback... Don't worry, they're going to be more comfortable with eachother soon, with a common goal... but I can't say what that goal is, so you'll just have to wait till tonight.

**pikescoob-thank you for the feedback!

**daydreamer-Woohoo! I got :bounce ! hehe, glad you like it, and thank you for giving me lots of feedback... I love it!

**TheWhiz-thank you, I'm glad you don't think it sucks! :)

**snuggle79-Thank you for the feedback. Your questions will be answered in the update tonight!

**jdcioffi-Yep, I'm going to develop around the title... you'll see tonight. Thanks!

**BigMac-Sorry I don't have the update... I promise I'll put up 2 tonight.

**Drakkenfyre-Thank you so much, you're so sweet!

**Tiggrscorpio-Smoochies? I don't know... Maybe... Thanks for the feedback!

**Rane018-hehe, astronomy... I always write during school. Don't worry, I know school is important, but my history teacher doesn't teach, so I just sit and write... or try to. Thanks so much for your feedback.

**wiltar-I'm glad you like it! I'm sorry for not having Part 6, yet. Tonight 6&7!

**Mix-Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback.

**Wolflord-Thank you! I thought I would try a cliffhanger. This is my second fic, so I'm new at this. I'm trying!

**Karzia-Thanks! There will definitely be an understanding of the title tonight.

Okay, I think I replied to everyone... I was so surprised when I got such nice feedback! I thought the only feedback I was going to get was "This sucks, don't even think about posting here again!" Thank you, everyone!! It means a lot to me!

Okay, that's all for now. :)

Parts 6&7 tonight. First Willow and Tara, then the rest of the Scoobie Gang.

Just read all the parts you posted in one sitting, and I am really enjoying the fic (don't worry it definitely doesn't suck). I like have you put their thoughts in the fic, it definitely adds to the story. Interesting cliffhanger you left the last upadate at I wonder where they are. Hope Willow and Tara find each again soon. I look forward to the next update.

I just finished reading all of this and I think it's great! I love how shy and unsure they are around each other. And yes, I was also wondering about the title and how it would play into the story. I guess we're about to find out. :)

Part 6

Willow, still blinking against the brightness, looked up at the sound of terror in Tara’s voice. She didn’t answer, but surveyed the area.

*Good question, Tare.* Willow thought as she looked around. They were in a sort of prison. *Why does this look familiar?* Then it hit her. *Oh, no. Please tell me this is not happening.*

“Willow?!”

Willow realized that she still hadn’t answered Tara’s question. “Wha-? Huh?” She asked in a surprised tone.

Tara looked bewildered. “Where are we?” She repeated firmly.

Willow looked around again, not meeting Tara’s eyes. “Um... I’m not sure WHERE. But, I think we’ve been transported back to the late 17th or 18th Century. I recognize this place from a book.” She finished this cautiously, uncertain of what the blonde witch’s reaction would be.

“What? You’re kidding, right, Will? Cuz it’s not funny.” Tara said dubiously, even though she knew by the look on her ex-lover’s face that she was telling the truth.

“This is the kind of prison they would hold girls that they suspected of witchcraft in.” Willow continued, lost in her recollection of the details from the book. “Though I never actually thought I’d be in one.”

“Did you cast?” Tara asked suspiciously, she didn’t sense that any magick had been used, but she wanted to be sure. Tara wanted to trust Willow, but she knew that she had given Willow all of her trust last time and now she had nothing left to give.

“What? Tara, no. No. No, I didn’t cast.” Willow said the last word with disgust. She was hurt by the fact that Tara thought she was responsible for this. “I told you before that I hadn’t used magick, why would I start now? Cuz, I mean that would certainly be stupid. Don’t you trust--” She stopped, then looked down. “No. Of course you don’t.”

“Willow, shh. I believe you.” She paused, then added, “I want to trust you.”

Willow looked up, shocked by this admission.

Tara walked over to Willow and took her hand, blue eyes seeking green. “Willow, I love you.” She realized she still needed to find out what was going on, so she changed the subject. “Now, what can you tell me about where--or when--we are?”

Willow looked down at Tara’s and her own intertwined fingers and looked back into Tara’s baby blues. It took her a second to regroup her thoughts, but then she spoke. “If this is the 1690's as I suspect, then we would be in New England somewhere. How could we end up here? What is going on? I mean, a witch and an ex-witch in the middle of a witch hunt--definitely not where I want to be.”

Just then, they looked up as they heard someone coming towards them.

“Witches? I’ve brought you your food. Goody Cooper made it, though I don’t know why. I told them not to feed you heathens. You are to be hanged tonight as it is.” Willow stared in shock at the woman who was standing in front of them. She was dressed in a long, plain gray dress. The two girls looked down at their own attire and realized that they were dressed in a similar fashion.

Willow broke the silence that had descended upon them and asked politely, “How much time do we have left, Goody?” She had remembered that women who were married were called “Goodwife” and it was usually shortened to “Goody.”

The woman looked down at her, contempt written on her face. “Sunset. You know that, devil child. It is already noon, I would be begging the Lord for my forgiveness if I were you, witches.”

“What is the year?”

The woman looked at her with a look of disbelief. “Why it is the year of our Lord 1693.” With that, she walked away and left them with their food.

Willow looked at Tara. “Well, we have a few hours to figure out what to do.”

Tara just nodded.

Part 7

“Okay, I’m really getting worried about Anya. Has anyone heard from her?” Buffy asked. She was sitting with Dawn and Xander at her dining room table.

Xander looked down. He was still mad at himself for hurting her. “She hasn’t called,” he said quietly. “I wish she would. God, what did I do, Buffy?” He looked up at his friend with a pained expression.

Buffy reached over and took his hand. “Don’t worry, Xand. If it’s meant to be, it’ll work out.” She looked at the clock. It was 2:30 AM. “Oh my God! I didn’t notice the time. Dawn, in bed NOW! You’re not going to be able to get up in the morning.” She looked at Xander.

He said, “Sorry, Buff. I didn’t realize how late it was.”

“It’s not your fault, Xander. Don’t worry about it.” She paused, then said, “Willow was supposed to be home hours ago. Where is she?”

“Maybe she and Tara went back to her place?” Dawn said hopefully.

Buffy looked doubtful, but said, “Maybe. It’s too late to call now.” She turned to Xander and said, “Do you want to stay the night? You could take the couch. That way I can go out and patrol and I won’t have to worry about Dawn. I’ll call Tara in the morning. Willow’s probably there.”

“That sounds okay, Buff. Dawn, go to bed. Don’t worry about Will. She’s probably fine. Go ahead and patrol. I’ll see you in the morning.” Xander chased Dawn off to bed, got some blankets, and Buffy left to patrol.

***Next Morning***

“I called Tara’s. No answer. I’m really worried. They were just going out to dinner across town, just off campus.” Buffy said. She had already sent Dawn to school with Xander and he had come back afterwards.

“Okay, well, what could have happened?” Xander asked.

“In Sunnydale? Naw, nothing could happen to them at night.” Buffy said sarcastically.

“Slayer,” a voice spoke.

Buffy and Xander looked to the source of the voice and their jaws dropped.

“I know where the young spellcaster is. She was with her blonde friend when they disappeared.” The voice came again.

“Lucy?”

Just to say I am still reading the story and enjoying it very much. It's an interesting situation you put Willow and Tara in the Salem witch trials with the fact their fate seems sealed and not for the better. So many questions come to the forefront, how will our two witches escape their deadly fate, how did they get there, and will they happily reunite after all this trauma? I am looking forward to reading the rest of the fic to see how these questions get answered. Good job!

Time Slip

Part 8

"Yes?" Lucy replied.

Lucy Hanover, a former slayer, who had lived in the late 1800's, was perched on Buffy's kitchen counter. She was a ghost who traveled the Ghost Roads, guiding lost souls to their final destination.

All of the sudden, a smoking figure covered in a blanket dashed through the kitchen door.

"Slayer! I need money to buy some kittens. I owe a fyarl demon two, and if I don't have it by tonight, I'll lose all credibility." Spike looked up and saw the other three people in the room. He turned to Buffy and said, "Uh, Pet? Did you know you had a ghost sitting on your counter?"

"This one is a vampire." Lucy spoke up.

"Well, yeah. What did you expect?" Spike said a little sarcastically.

"I know, Lucy. We can't get rid of him." Buffy said.

"Why do you not just stake him?" Lucy asked, a little surprised that Buffy had not attacked the vampire, and the fact that he had been able to get in.

"Good question." With that, Buffy stood up, grabbed a stake, and walked meaningfully towards Spike.

"Whoa, hold on there, love." Spike said quickly while backing away. "I'm not liking you very much, Ghostie." He flung at Lucy, still backing away from Buffy.

"What do you want, Spike?" Xander asked with a groan.

"We can't waste any time on you, Spike. We have to find out where Will and Tara are." Buffy said in exasperation. "Lucy, what were you saying? And, if you don't mind me asking, why are you here?"

"Willow and her friend were walking last night when a van showed up and then they disappeared." Lucy said.

"Wait, I know this. Remember when I disappeared a few weeks ago?" Buffy asked.

Spike grinned.

Buffy glared at him and pointed to the stake in her hand as a warning.

*He says a word, and he is soooo dead.* Buffy thought.

"Yeah, why?" Xander asked.

"It was Warren and Co. behind it. They have a black van. They must have made another invisible-ray gun-thingy." Buffy said, proud that she had figured it out. Or so she thought.

"When I said disappear, I didn't mean they became invisible. I meant they were transported somewhere." Lucy said. "Actually, SOMETIME." She added as an afterthought.

Buffy's triumphant grin faded and a confused frown took it's place. "What do you mean?" Buffy asked, wide eyed. "Where? And- when?"

"Salem. 1693." Lucy answered.

"You're kidding, right? Warren is screwed up. What a sick joke. I'm gonna kick his ass." Buffy said menacingly.

Xander looked confused. "What happened in Salem in 1693?" He asked.

Buffy looked at him strangely. "Geez, Xander. I didn't pay attention in history either, but even I know that!" She said, "The Salem Witch Trials took place around then." She looked to Lucy for confirmation.

Lucy nodded and said, "They've been imprisoned, and are to be hanged."

"Then why are we sitting here?" Buffy asked incredulously. "Let's go." She paused, then, "Wait, how DO we go?" She asked Lucy.

"I am afraid YOU can not, Buffy." Lucy said sadly. "Only those who have had a major supernatural change in their lives can use the Ghost Roads to time travel."

"Well, I can go. I was turned." Spike said indifferently.

"Yes, you could go. But, the fact remains that you ARE a vampire. You wouldn't be much help to them as a pile of dust, would you? You can not be exposed to sunlight, and we do not know how long this may take." Lucy said, not quite understanding why a vampire would want to help the Slayer.

"Why can't I? I am the Slayer?" Buffy asked impatiently.

"Because you have never changed. It is not my rule. It is impossible to travel through time on the Ghost Roads unless you have changed into something supernatural."

"Well, who else can?" Xander interjected.

"Werewolves, vampires--“" Lucy began.

"Hold on." Buffy interrupted, "Werewolves?" She asked.

"Yes, but not born werewolves, only those who have been bitten."

Buffy looked around the room. "We're getting Oz."

Part 9

“Um, Buffy, do we go about finding Oz?” Xander asked carefully.

“Devon.” Buffy responded, with no hesitation. “Willow said that Devon knew where to find him before. Let’s go.”

“I can not stay, Slayer.” Lucy said quietly. “I will return later. But hurry. They do not have much time.” Lucy vanished.

“Let’s go.” Buffy said again.

Xander and Buffy walked out of the house, leaving Spike behind.

“I’ll just stay here and wait for the little bit!” Spike called after them.

Buffy ignored Spike and thought worriedly, *I wonder what they’re doing?*

*****

“What do we do?” Willow asked nervously.

“We’ll figure something out. We’re in this together.”

“But you left me.” Willow said, knowing that hadn’t been what Tara was talking about. *We need to talk about this,* she thought grimly.

“No. You pushed me away. Tara replied with no inflection whatsoever. “Did you really expect me to stay? After you promised...” She broke off trying to regain her composure. “Goddess, Will. You told me you could go a month. All I asked for was a week. How long did you last? A few hours?”

Willow had silent tears streaming down her face. “I-I...” She didn’t finish. She didn’t even understand how quickly the subject had been changed, even though she was the one who instigated it.

“Willow, I trusted you with everything. I kept nothing from you. How could you violate me like that? After everything we’ve been through?” She stopped, too choked up to continue.

“Tara, you have to know I never meant to hurt you. I–“ Willow started.

“But you DID!” Tara yelled, surprising both Willow and herself. The anger that she had been holding in for months finally surfaced. “Willow don’t you see?” Her tone softened, “You hurt me so much more than my family or Glory ever could.” Willow looked at her with a startled and crushed expression on her face. “Will, I loved you. I still do. I always will. But we can’t just go back to the way things were just because you’ve stopped using magick.”

“But, I thought that’s what you wanted?” Willow said uncertainly. She hadn’t given up magick just for Tara, she knew that. She gave it up for Buffy, Dawn, and most importantly, herself. But she had thought that she would get back together with Tara when she did.

“Of course it’s what I wanted. I’m proud of you, Baby...” She paused as Willow looked at her hopefully. *Oh, it would be so easy to forgive her.* She thought to herself, *So easy to reach out and take her into my arms and never let her go... No. She hurt you. You can’t let it happen again.* “But I can’t do this, Willow. I won’t let you hurt me again.” She turned around, but stopped when Willow cried out.

“I won’t let me hurt you again.” She said quickly. “Tara, please. Don’t give up on this. I love you. I need you. I really don’t think I can do anything without you.” She was sobbing now but she couldn’t stop herself from asking Tara anyway, “Please come back to me.”

Tara turned and looked into the deep recesses of green that she used to spend hours memorizing. She felt her throat constrict as she tried to find the right words. “W-Willow... You can do this. You can be strong...”

“Like an Amazon?” Willow asked softly.

Tara felt fresh tears spring to her eyes. She nodded slowly, remembering Joyce’s death and Willow’s reaction to it.

Willow shook her head, almost imperceptibly. “No. This can’t be over. Tara, tell me... Tell me it’s not over. I’m only strong with you. Remember? You tole me I don’t have to be brave. You told me you’d still love me.” Willow finished in a hushed tone, her eyes cast downwards.

“I do.” Tara whispered fiercely as she moved to Willow swiftly. She cupped Willow’s face and brought it level to her own, blue eyes seeking green. “Goddess, Willow, you know I do.” She said while gently wiping tears from her ex-lover’s cheeks.

Willow felt again the extreme guilt for what she had done. She pulled away, not noticing the shocked and hurt expression on Tara’s face at the loss of touch. “No, you’re right. God, I can’t believe I asked you that. What right do I have? I don’t deserve you. You’re above me. You should never trust me. Never forgive me. How could you, when I can’t forgive myself.”

“Willow,” Tara said soothingly.

Willow looked up into the deep pools of blue that looked questioningly at her.

“I already have forgiven you, Will. The trust? Well, I won’t lie to you. There’s not much there. But,” Tara continued at the look of shame on her love’s face. “But,” she said again, taking Willow’s hands, “That just means we need to work on it. We need to build that trust again.”

“How?” Willow asked dejectedly.

“You have to try again. Be someone. Be Willow. Not Wicca-Will, Dark-Scary-Black-Magick-Eyes-Will, be Willow. Kind, caring, loving, and brave Willow. Be the girl I fell in love with.” Tara said with care.

“But that’s not true. You fell in love with me when I used magick.” Willow said quickly.

“How can you say that? I fell in love with YOU.” Tara said vehemently. “The magick was only an excuse to spend time with you.” She looked down and realization hit her, “Is that all it was to you? Magick?”

“No, Tara. Don’t ever think that. You’re my everything, my always. We shared something that transcends anything that we could do with magick. No matter what happens, I will never, EVER stop loving you.” Willow said firmly.

Tara remembered what happened with Glory and the darkness that had followed. She knew that Willow had stayed with her through it all and hand found her. But thinking of that time made her shudder involuntarily.

“You okay, baby?” Willow asked worriedly. She placed a steadying hand on Tara’s arm when she saw the darkness flash over her ex-girlfriend’s face. Willow pulled back when she Tara glanced nervously at her and then the hand that resided on her her forearm. “I’m sorry,” Willow whispered, “I don’t– I just– I’m sorry. I didn’t mean...” She trailed off.

“Willow, it’s okay.” Tara reached out for Willow, but Willow backed away even more. Undeterred, Tara moved more determinedly towards her. She pulled Willow into an embrace as her lips left butterfly kisses from the red hair down to the girls nose. Once she was sure she had the red head’s attention, she looked into the deep emerald of her love’s eyes and said, “I love you. I forgave you long ago. I know you love me. We need to talk more about this. But right now, can you just be kissing me?”

Willow was shocked by the sudden change in events. “Are you sure?” She whispered.

“Oh yeah,” Tara said, a little too sensually. *Oh my God! I can’t believe I just said that!* She thought. But any thoughts she had were silenced when the electricity from Willow’s lips brushing her own took over.

Willow pulled back and looked questioningly at Tara, uncertain as to whether or not Tara wanted her to continue. She gasped as the blonde’s full lips took possession of her own. She moaned as her lips parted, tara’s tongue running along the edges of her lips. She unknowingly arched into Tara, desperate for the contact she had gone so long without.

Tara pulled Willow closer, drinking in the comfort of her lover as they molded into each other.

“Oh, Goddess, Tara.” Willow moaned between kisses. “Goddess, I love you.” Tears flowed freely from her lidded eyes and she pulled away.

Tara pulled Willow close again and cradled her in her arms, lovingly.

Willow whimpered into Tara’s hair as Tara rocked her gently, whispering softly into the red head’s ear.

“Tara, baby, I’m scared.” Willow whispered.

“Don’t worry, sweetie. We’ll get home.”

Okay, next up, Buffy and Xander look for Oz and get a surprise. Willow and Tara are running out of time and need to formulate a plan.

I don’t think I’ll have anything up tomorrow, so this will have to do until Wednesday.

Thanks!

Love the W/T argument, apologies and smoochies. I can't wait to see how you get them out of this. Excellent job.

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.
Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

Willow: Hi, um Tara. I was wondering maybe you want to go out some time for coffee? food? Kisses and gay love?

Just read both updates and they were great. The twist with Oz was interesting. Before Lucy mentioned werewolves I thought Anya would be the savior, but I like this new twist. I am also glad Willow and Tara were able to talk and work some problems out. Woo-hoo we got smoochies, and we just need for them to get out of this mess and rebuild their love. Patiently awaiting the next update!
