Willow and Tara finished what they were doing in the stables and were now sprawled across the blondes bed dressed only In robes after a long warm shower together. The smiles on their faces hid none of their happiness as they spent the time in each others company without worrying about demons or school work.



Tara heard the front door close and sighed, knowing that her parents were back and her farther would expect her company before he left she extracted herself from Willow, stood and searched for some clothes to change into trying not to look at the pout she knew would be plastered across her girls’ face.



A knock at the door startled the redhead and she wrapped her robe tighter around her thin frame.



“It’s me, Tara.” Mrs Maclay shouted from the other side of the door. Both girls exhaled in relief that it wasn’t Mr. Maclay, but then it registered that they had done exactly what Tara’s mom had asked them not to....not only once, but twice.



“Come in mom.” Tara’s tone was slightly higher than usual as she shifted from foot to foot.



“Hey sweetheart, just letting you know that we’re back and that your farther would like to see you before he goes, ok?”



“Yes.” Was the blondes simple answer.



“Did you collect the eggs from the barn for me?” the woman asked, clearly choosing to ignore what she saw for the second time.



“Yes, but I left them in the basket which is still in the barn.” She explained.



“Ok, well why don’t you both get dressed, then Tara I would like you to collect the eggs and Willow I would like to see you in the kitchen is that alright?” she asked although her voice left no room for negotiation.



The redhead nodded her understanding, still clutching the opening of her plain white robe.



“Ok, see you in a few minutes.” The older woman said before exiting the room.



“What does she want?.. oh no Tara is she gunna cut off my arms..and with the slapping.... I have to make a run for it, maybe France....”



“Calm down Will.” The blonde chuckled and gathered the smaller girl into a hug. “It’s just a chat there will be no arm cutting or slapping...ok?”



“Ok, but if there is.. Then I will haunt you forever.” The redhead childishly retorted.



Both girls changed quickly and went their separate ways. Willow was nervous about what Mrs Maclay was going to talk to her about, corrupting her daughter perhaps?



Walking into the kitchen she saw the older woman sat at the dining table, mug in hand looking very serene.



“Mrs Tara’s mom?” the redhead spoke softly so as not to startle the older woman.



“Willow, please, take a seat..... would you like a drink?”



Drink?.....hello nervous here, no drinking thank you. “Um... no thanks.” She answered sitting at the opposite end of the table from Mrs Maclay.



The older woman chuckled at the awkward redhead and thought about her approach to the subject or subjects. She had been wanting to address the situation of Willow’s magical abilities, the power the young girl possessed was far beyond that of any teenage witch she had ever met or heard of. Mrs Maclay had learned the true extent of the young girl’s power when she took it from her and she hadn’t quite been expecting such a force. She had talked with Tara about the matter and learned that the redhead had no means of guidance, but with such power the young girl certainly needed guiding and Mrs Maclay would feel a lot better if Willow would let her help.



“Sweetheart, don’t be nervous I’m not evil.... I just want to talk.” The woman assured.



The redhead nodded and relaxed a little at Mrs Maclay’s soothing voice, it was just like Tara’s.



The woman continued “This is about your magic....”



“Magic?” Willow interrupted.



“That’s right, honey you have more potential than you know and at this stage in your life it can be very dangerous, I understand from what Tara has told me that there is nobody teaching you the principle of magic, concentration, basic spells or ingredients. You seem to be skipping the rudiments and starting straight with the advanced magics.”



The redhead processed what Tara’s mother was saying, but had an ebb of confusion about where this conversation was going. “So, what are you saying I shouldn’t do magic?”



“No, no absolutely not. I’m not saying that at all. I’m saying you need somebody to help you control your power because it won’t be easy to harness such energy without being shown how..... so I was hoping you’d let me help?”





Willow smiled appreciatively at Mrs Maclay and nodded her head “I would like that, I mean if you don’t mind?.... I love magic and for someone so prestigious as you to be teaching me would be an honour, thank you.”



The older woman smiled noticing the lack of babbling that occurred once the redhead was comfortable. “Well Willow, my daughter seems to have taken a shine to you, it’s the least I could do...... Speaking of Tara I would like to discuss your relationship if that’s ok?”



“Uh...” was all Willow could say suddenly feeling herself getting nervous again.



“I understand that your relationship with Tara is serious and you both feel strongly for each other, although I have to admit I was a little concerned when I learned the true extent of your relationship, emotionally and physically.” The emphasis on the word ‘physically’ did not go unnoticed by the redhead.



“I just don’t want Tara to get hurt, she’s a delicate soul who deserves the best.” Whilst Mrs Maclay was talking she watched Willow’s aura intently as the colours merged and shifted, with every word she studied the redhead’s reaction through her aura and was pleased with what she saw.



“I know what you’re saying Mrs Maclay and believe me I would never intentionally hurt her. Ever.” The truthfulness of Willow’s answer was backed up by the shifting and merging of her aura and the older woman was satisfied with the answer. Nodding her head she stood and walked to the other side of the table embracing Willow in a soft hug.



Tara was on her way back to the house, she had delayed a little whilst collecting the eggs hoping to give her mother enough time to talk with her girlfriend. She trusted that her mother would be subtle in her approach to whatever the subject and also trusted that Willow would be respectful. She smiled to herself thinking of her two favourite women. Since starting Sunnydale boarding school her life had changed completely and she didn’t regret any of it.



Walking up the patio she could see the figure of her mother hugging a sitting Willow and her curiosity peaked.



“Ok, what did I miss?” she asked setting the eggs on the kitchen counter.



Mrs Maclay let go of the redhead and smiled at her daughter. ‘She’s so adorable sweetheart’



‘I know mom.’ They interacted mentally.



“You didn’t miss much.... except your mom is going to be my magic mentor.” Willow beamed, her excitement and enthusiasm overwhelming, she grabbed Tara and held her tight.



‘Thank you.” The blonde mouthed to her mother.
