Hi Debra!

Okay, lots of exposition going on, just not quite exposing the one main thing...yet.

Faith finally knows what she is, and Giles got to give his little speech, so he's probably a very happy camper now that he found the second slayer. Oh yeah, can't forget his droolfest over Tara's journals. Very nice touch.

Oh well, almost time for the meeting. Okay, if they're gonna do it, let's get going. I can't wait to see what you have in store for our lovely girls.

Asher's teething? Poor guy. I know that can be hard on them, and their clothes are always soaked. Bibs come in handy, don't they? :drool

More soon please!

Deb!!

How soon is soon?

The whole giving the speech thing was hilarious, more so with Gile's attitude" let's see if I can remember the speech". And the whole GIVING THE SPEECH! I honestly thought he'd be changing it, recapping it without making it sound 'holy' or whatever. He's a funny man!

Oh and the whole dreadful meeting! Let them find out PLEASE!!

More?

i hope that Dawn forgives Willow and lets her know that Tara is not a student so that they don't have to go to the meeting with the principal

Yay! That was so worth the wait. :) Wonderful update! :applause

The Slayer explanation was hilarious, as was Giles speech. So Giles... and Buffy's line was too funny,

Quote:
"I'm not a demon, Buffy argued, I'm the Slayer. Slayer comma The. Look it up."

I liked Giles comment that both Slayers were holding back during sparring. Testing the waters so to speak, should make for a great patrol story. Still bumming about this school meeting with W&T. Just the thought of it is making me anxious...

So....

I think that now that they're gonna go talk to school headmaster or whatever the next morning it's IMPOSSIBLE they won't know they are both teachers... But I thougth it was impossible a long time ago, and you're able to still do it, so I won't Yay! before time, because I'm sure you have something already planned to avoid them thinking of naughty things without guilt :laugh

Excellent update, Debra!

Secret one revealed: check

Secret two: status pending, author still a big tease. :p

Oh, the wrath of a petulant teenager! Maybe Dawn'll crack when Willow brings her dinnery goodness.

I love the interactions between Faith and Tara, how they always check to make sure the other is okay with what's going on. It's fitting since they've obviously had to protect each other for a long time, but it's cool to see a different side of Faith--not the loner, or "my way or the highway" type o' gal.
Quote:
Faith quirked her eyebrow at the clerk before declaring, “You’re very peculiar you know.”
Quote:
“Faith,” Tara admonished, “be nice.”
I loved this moment, coz' this is like the most unconfrontational thing Faith has ever said, but apparently T. knows where it could lead.

I'm getting all giddy knowing that the REAL secret is going to be revealed soon, and I know it'll be great!

Postby russ » Thu Aug 26, 2004 8:11 pm

Wow, Buffy starts out just asking to be skewered, doesn't she? When someone's got a sharp steel blade digging into your throat, you might want to ease off on the snarkiness. I guess she's a little miffed that a romantic moment ended up with her being attacked. Faith probably feels that a "demon" has been trifling with her affections.

Finally, Willow shows some sense in this story: her advice to "dial down the aggression" and trying to get Buffy to lose the attitude should earn a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

Interesting how Faith is guided by Tara when it comes to decision-making time, and Buffy is readily swayed by Willow. I guess a slayer needs a witch to keep her in line. Maybe that's why our witches are so over the top with their ethical inhibitions; they're each carrying a hot-headed slayer around.

Tara seems to have a basic misconception in that she thinks "mystical being" = "demon." Well, hey, this story is all about basic misconceptions, and the problems they cause.

I loved the "Giles speech" and the way Buffy "primed the pump" and got him started. Then Xander appears in time for his classic, "Buffy died, I brought her back" line. Bit of deja vu all over again.

Giles had a great day: not only did he find the missing slayer, he got to give his speech, and discovered that Tara has been keeping her own version of the Watchers' diaries.

Gotta love Anya; she calls'em like she sees'em.

You'll notice I have nothing to say about the final scene, and the impending meeting. This is me with hands in the air and head shaking. (Better than pounding it against the wall).

Have a good weekend,

Russ

Hey Debra: OK, Smut Queen that I am, I can think only of Buffy and Faith patrolling together and just getting so very, very...naughty. I mean, really...

I gave up long ago trying to guess when you would do The Revelation. Instead, I am Zen Reader, enjoying each scene as it comes and anticipating nothing. Behold, my patience.

I love how well Buffy knows Giles and what makes him get all giddy. Makes for nice balance and playfulness.

And have I mentioned how honkin' cute your son is? Wow...

Well, some things getting sorted at least. Now the gang know Faith is a slayer too. Giles' enthusiasm over Tara's record keeping was amusing.

So Dawn is still "in a strop". Maybe Willow can charm her around to forgiving her in time to realise there is no need for The Meeting.

Postby Grimlock72 » Sun Aug 29, 2004 2:40 pm

Hmm... I don't recall Faith ever saying sorry to Buffy for holding a rather sharp piece of metal near her throat. That's not a nice thing to do. It kinda bugs me... which is odd since I don't normally care that much for Buffy :)

The entire Giles-tells-the-story part was big fun, he indeed does live for that a bit :lol . I can wholly imagine Giles drooling over well kept journals :) .

It's good that Faith now knows what she is, does make me wonder why she decided to good fighting demons before she knew. Normal people don't go out at night and stick wooden stakes in people's hearts...I think : -->>: . Going on patrol with Buffy has advantages but also disadvantages, a witch can help with stuff where a 2nd slayer wont be usefull. It does mean Tara will be a whole lot safer at night though, which is GOOOOD :)

That meeting at school has to become a weird one. Should be interesting to see if they even get through that one without figuring out the truth about each other :lol

Have a fun vacation!!

That was a great update :applause

It seems that Willow and Tara have one last chance to avoid abject humiliation. Hopefully Willow will mention the meeting to Dawn while they're having dinner. Dawn can't be so angry that she'd let them go to the meeting, knowing that there's no need. She couldn't possibly be that evil could she? :paranoid

Other than that I guess they can both change their names and move to another country. It's not just the embarassment of being labeled the two most stupid people in all of Sunnydale they have to worry about. I mean there are probably lots of students with crushes on Willow and Tara so now they'll be going up to them and saying, "Hey, Ms Mclay, you know how you always thought I was a student, well I'm actually a teacher, you were wrong again. So how about a date?"

Let's just hope that Dawn decides to tell them, or at least something happens to Principle Wood so they can't have their meeting with him.

Looking forward to :read more

And at least some progress is made. Faith being revealed as the second slayer - which is excellent news. I see Buffy getting a tattoo - that's something I never thought I would say. Buffy doesn't really seem the type to me - although we have seen how effective it can be so...

Although, I still find it kind of funny that neither Faith nor Tara ask how Willow got involved - being so young and all. But then as I'm typing that sentence, I think I may have answered it - Tara thinks that Dawn and Willow are friends. Maybe she thinks that's how Buffy and Willow met. But I thought Willow told Tara that Buffy was her best friend - oy vey, I'm just confusing myself.

I agree with Justin, I they find out before they have the embarrassment of their young lives.

Hi

So everybody knows the truth now about each other..............except Willow and Tara, but that should all be cleared up by the next update, right? I mean, they're going to the principals office to tell him what happened between them, can't see them not knowing the truth after that, the principal will think they're both crazy and seriously consider his own character judging abilities, but they should be wiser, yes?

The only person who knows the whole truth is Dawn and after her teenager-y fit, she won't be telling Willow any time soon! I'm just really curious as to how long you can actually keep this going. It's not good for my sanity, but i'm still curious. Help me out here, please

Egnalos – Welcome. :wave It’s good to see a blessed wannabe. Thanks so much for loving it. I’d say something interesting will happen in the next update but you’ll have to wait to find out what. Thanks.

Wimpy – Yeah, the next piece of exposition is kind of the central one and therefore takes longer. Thanks. It should be interesting.

Quote:
Asher's teething? Poor guy. I know that can be hard on them, and their clothes are always soaked. Bibs come in handy, don't they?
Yeah. One broke through this weekend but he’s working on three more. Actually we’re so vain that we’d rather change his clothes 3-4 times a day than have him wear a bib. What can I say? At least we admit our vanity.

YMKA – We’ll see what happens re: finding out and how (if so). Yeah Tara is a new Generation Watcher for sure. Thanks.

Not exactly a vacation: visit to the in-laws but a pretty good one as they go.

Natti – Yeah, now they can be slayers together. Thanks. I’ll see how quickly I can get the update up but I wouldn’t count on it. It’s not even started yet and I’m really busy these days.

Sammi – Yes, soon. Thanks.

Arwen – Soon is soon. I love that speech and felt that they should have made even more of a joke of it throughout the series. I’m glad you were amused.

BV – Wow, I thought it got less complicated with them finding out about slayers and that Faith is one. Thanks.

Nicole – LOL. Glad it’s worth it. thanks.

Grimaldi – Thanks. We’ll see what happens with Willow and Dawn and Willow and Tara soon.

Irishgrl3 – Thanks. I’m glad you liked and thought it was worth the wait. I’m really busy these days so having a hard cranking out updates. The Buffy line is from her conversation with Riley in the episode following Hush (whatever that’s called). Thanks.

BARE1975 – Well… you’d think it was impossible wouldn’t you? But it will be soon. Thanks.

Michelle – Yep, that’s one secret out of the bag. We’ll see about the report, ok?

Romy – Thanks. Yep, I liked it.

Tarawhipped – Thanks. Yep, you can check it out and me? A big tease? I have no idea what you are talking about. I’m glad you like the relationship between Faith & Tara. As I’ve said many times before, it’s my belief that Faith was just a few adjustments from being an incredible Slayer and an incredible person. I believe that she and Tara each fulfilled the weaknesses in each other’s histories, making them a great team. The writing is going very slowly so I definitely wouldn’t check in that often.

Karen – Sorry about the sanity: I certainly know that feeling. And believe me that it’s been a challenge to stay out of those painted corners. I think that in many ways, this light piece of fluff is the hardest thing I’ve ever written. Yes, the family is wonderful. Thanks for asking.

russ – Yeah, Buffy is quite a smart-ass. I have to admit that I’m not a huge fan of hers. I don’t consistently depict her as a jerk as say, Kiwi, but she’s probably my LEAST favorite character in all of the Buffyverse. I understand that it’s her show and she’s the heroine but I just find her a bit too angsty and self-involved to truly love her.

I definitely think that in this story I’m trying to show the parallel pairings of Slayer and witch – the hand and the head/spirit as it were.

Quote:
Tara seems to have a basic misconception in that she thinks "mystical being" = "demon." Well, hey, this story is all about basic misconceptions, and the problems they cause.
It might be a misconception but it’s not incorrect. Excuse season 7 reference: Buffy and Faith are part demon. So it might be a tenuous assumption but it is a correct one.

Ha ha. Yes, for Giles a stellar day. Thanks.

Mary – Yeah, it’s a nice idea although I’m not particularly turned on by the idea of Buffy and Faith. Faith yes, Buffy not so much. Yay for you being Zen Reader. Probably a much more content way to read. Thanks for thinking Ash is so cute. We’re pretty darn fond of him and (fingers crossed) the adoption is next week!

molly – Yep, some sorting going on. Hmmm … I can say that Dawn will not be spilling the beans. Ha ha. How was that?

Helen – Thanks so much. They will probably find out soon. Or maybe not… Depends on how fast I write I guess.

noellebrin – Welcome. :wave . I’m glad you’re enjoying all the stories. There are many good ones on this board. Yes it is has been frustrating and that has been the point. I’m glad you’ve liked it.

Grimmy – I don’t think Faith’s really the apology type but let’s assume for humanity that she apologized in the course of their patrol. Yes, Giles was definitely drooling over Tara’s journals.

I don’t think that one has to know their origin or the name for their special power to decide to do good. I think that there are millions of people who use their powers (special or “other”) everyday to help others.

Thanks for your wishes on vacation and your thorough comments.

Tempest Duer – It won’t be Dawn but Giles loves the speech. That’s why I gave it to him here. Thanks.

alysagoddess85 – Thanks for being amazed. It’s been a challenge every step of the way. Cracking? :lol Thanks so much.

Justin – Thanks so much. As I said, you can assume that Dawn will not be telling anything before the meeting. As usual your thoughts about the students’ comments have me :rofl .

Shuyaku – Yes, definite progress. Ha ha to Buffy getting a tattoo. I don’t think she has the … well something for a tattoo.

Quote:
Although, I still find it kind of funny that neither Faith nor Tara ask how Willow got involved - being so young and all.
I was somewhat concerned about that and made sure not to refer to Willow and Xander becoming involved when Buffy came to Sunnydale or how long Buffy’s been the slayer or anything like that.

TromDeGrey – As I said, Dawn will be spilling nothing but that sure would make life easy wouldn’t it?

veiled isis moon – Well… the next update? I’m not making anypromises. And yes, you are right, Dawn won’t tell anything.
