Ok firstly, that was a hysterical update...short but very funny. Loved it. I love how you have JOAN as the best friend...definately a take I've never seen before.

And for Artemis...Joan was the name Buffy gave herself in 'Tabula Rasa', when none of them could remember who they were. She said she felt like a 'Joan'. Hence the irony:)

Heya!

I just caught up with this fic, and loved it!!

Actually, from a little hint that you threw there, that Willow actually won.. but let's wait and see. ;)

What I lacked in this update was clarifying Tara and Willow's intimacy [of course, that was the purpose.. lol.. but I like to complain ;) ] and the understanding of their actions.. I'm really wondering about their chemistry and where exectly they're standing.. I mean, did something happen when the tribes merged? Hmm.. oh and 2 logical questions..

1. How can the ppl around the "survivors" not know when they were voted off, if they go away for 10 days for exemple, instead of 39? I mean, after they done they go back to their lives.. so isn't it obvious to their enviorment? I'm just wondering how that works out.

Besides that, another question, might be a stupid one.. aren't there supposed to be 3 tribes of 6 people? I might be very wrong.. lol.. But I watched today the reruns of "Survival all stars" and that's how it was there, so I figured I'd ask.

Besides that, I am very curious about this fic and I think it is written really well. I'll be looking forward eagrly for the next update. :)

Hi,

Yes you read it right survivor on a farm. It's called The Farm.... I wonder why :hmm It starts next week so I don't know everything about it only that the farm is in Africa in the middle of no where and that everything is really primitive and the rest is all the same. Thank who ever we still have the normal version as well.

I have a question. Can the person that is voted off come back? Because on the survivor version we have they can. Every year it's different in the way how but they can come back and even win.

About the update. It wasn't that long :( I want more!! more, more, more of this great stuff. I'm addicted you know!

I loved the interaction between the friends.

So there will be a little nookie or maybe a lot of nookie but when..... In the next update? I can't wait for that....So....

Hurry up :lol I realllllllllllllllllllllllly can't wait!!!!!!

Thanks for the update.

fun update, a little short but effective. you're clearly showing the contrast between tara's responsible homelife and willow's more carefree one. my more perverse side thinks it would be funny if the next update is willow on the talk shows followed by "the end", but i know you wouldn't do that to us. also have to agree with willow- zima sucks! mary

I have always liked when authors write positive references to Willow’s and Tara’s previous loves, and I don’t mean just Oz as per canon. I love the thought of a Willow that crashes rush parties and has a woman calling her for weeks on end (presumably because Will was *that* good…yea her!) I like the thought of a Willow who enjoys being led out to bars to (let Joan) capitalize on Willow’s celebrity status. All this, for me, helps characters become more playful.

I also think it’s really clever how it seems you’ll develop Willow and Tara’s relationship not by manufactured circumstances on the island, but by what happens between air time, months later within their day-to-day lives (even though they live apart.) But on the phone there was obvious flirting between them, even though they haven’t spoken to each other in months. So….what *did* happen to them on the island??? I wonder if Willow and Tara might have had a one-night-stand (out of the producer’s knowledge), and are just now figuring out that actually, gee, ‘I wonder if she’s the one.’

I love the use of dialogue in this work. The witty, light-hearted to-ing and fro-ing between Joan and Willow was delightful, really fun to read. Great stuff, Debra. I’m really enjoying this!

Lovely, as always.

I find it interesting that Willow and Tara's romantic situations seem to have swapped. Now it's Willow who's the out lesbian and Tara with the ex. I don't think Willow's going to be voted off next episode; it seems that by the time of her phone call, she'd gotten to know Tara quite well on the island.

Love the allusion to Amnestic!Buffy as well.

Again, I'm rooting for Faith.

hidden Watson – Glad you like the Joan/Willow connection although I must admit, it’s not exactly Joan. That attitude but brunette you might notice. I had considered Anya but honestly, intend Joan to be gay (flamingly so) should it come up and Anya’s just… how do I put this? NOT. Anyway, glad you liked her.

Legal jokes always always get a big laugh from me, no, I'm not a lawyer, but I sleep with one, so I'm big with the law .
Lol. Actually I’m not a therapist but I sleep with one so I’m big on the “I can neither confirm nor deny” which is kind of how I picture a lot of these interactions.

Ok, given the number of remarks like yours I have to go back and reread my last few posts. Actually my intention was that this was the one (and only) post that will not have any mystery regarding voted off, etc. Willow and Tara made their date and didn’t mention the Early morning show so I don’t think it’s a stretch to go ahead and disclose that neither will be voted off this week. Anyway, that’s out of the bag but from now on… you’re on your own. :grin

Irishgrl3 – Glad you like her. She’s meant to be some comic relief. Glad she’s a hit.

Artemis – You’re not a doofus. I see that someone else pointed out Joan. I hadn’t thought about Willow being “in” but I guess you are exactly right. She’s in the closet as far as what happened on the show.

So everyone’s wishing for nookie? We’ll see what happens…

MissKittys Ball O Yarn – A passionate supporter huh? Actuually I’ve noticed that myself. :evil I’ve got to reread but Joan and Willow are definitely not an item. Joan definitely wasn’t asking Willow out. See note to HW re: Willow being voted off. Thanks.

stillrunning – Glad you liked it and especially that you found it funny. Thanks for the explanation for Artemis.

littlecrazy80 – Thanks. Glad you liked it.

Truck driving magic mama - :wave Welcome to this short. I definitely wouldn’t consider you late as it’s just getting started. Hmmm… There was a hint that Willow won? I’ll have to look at that and see what I see. I don’t remember writing it but since I can neither confirm nor deny that she did, that’s as far as I’ll go.

Quote:

Well good. I intend for the answers to all those questions to take a while (most of this fic) to answer. Basically you are going to get to see 2 views on their relationship: on the Island and off it.

Quote:
1. How can the ppl around the "survivors" not know when they were voted off, if they go away for 10 days for exemple, instead of 39? I mean, after they done they go back to their lives.. so isn't it obvious to their enviorment? I'm just wondering how that works out.
It’s always been my assumption that only the jurors (the last 7 players besides the final 2) are sequestered and that the others return to their lives and as you point out, their families notice that they were gone 10 days rather than 39. However, Hidden Watson contends that all participants are sequestered for the entire time. I can honestly say that I don’t know the answer to that.

Quote:
Besides that, another question, might be a stupid one.. aren't there supposed to be 3 tribes of 6 people? I might be very wrong.. lol.. But I watched today the reruns of "Survival all stars" and that's how it was there, so I figured I'd ask.
That varies depending on the season. On most seasons there have been 2 teams but All-Stars had more players so they split them into 3 teams.

Thanks for your very indepth feedback and your good questions.

DreamLover – That’s hysterical: The Farm. I saw an interview with Jeff Probst (our Survivor host) and he says there will be a Survivor in Canada and they will be all freezing, etc. Quite different from the hot ones of usually and few clothes.

Quote:
I have a question. Can the person that is voted off come back? Because on the survivor version we have they can. Every year it's different in the way how but they can come back and even win.
You’re kidding? How does that work? On ours, once “the tribe has spoken” you’re out! There’s no way to win once you’re voted off.

Glad you like it. Thanks.

FireFlyofDust – Thanks. Glad you like it.

meretricious – Yeah. It had to be short because of the timing of certain things. Needless to say, the next episode is the next update and I didn’t want to run the two together. You’ve hit in on the head: Tara and Willow are very different people at different ages and with different responsibilities. I’m not saying that will be the main point of my story but it does distinguish them. I haven’t had a Zima in years but I remember them as being particularly gross. Thanks.

ravenousgrape – Thanks. I can see that about their situations. Yes, Willow is definitely a very out lesbian but I’d be careful about making assumptions about Tara.

Quote:
I don't think Willow's going to be voted off next episode; it seems that by the time of her phone call, she'd gotten to know Tara quite well on the island.
Good point and very right-on. Thanks for the thoughts on Joan/Buffy and glad you’re rooting for Faith. Anyone else want to make your preferences known?

daiailun – Like you, I very much so like the idea of W/T as people who have lives, including love lives before meeting each other. While I’ve certainly been guilty of writing fics where they are the other’s first and only love, I just don’t find that as realistic. And yes, Willow is exactly the party girl you imagine: the girl who crashed a party and was that good.

I think that their relationship will develop in both times/places but probably, as you predict, more primarily in the “after” time. You will find out all about what did and did not happen on the island and why the break between then and now in time but it will take a while to play out. Thanks for the thoughts on the dialog. It’s hard to write well so good to know you’re appreciating it. Thanks.

Re: Survivor: Ash Island

Postby DreamLover » Thu Feb 24, 2005 4:36 pm

No, I'm not kidding!!!!!!!!!!!! They can come back.

So you really want to know how this works? *Maybe a little research material* :wink You came to the right girl for that because I'm research girl. LoL....Just teasing y... but you never know what you can do with it.

Let's start with a little info.

Every season is different off course there are the standard rules and stuff. It's the same our nearly the same as your version. There are two teams South and North. One camp has nearly everything to survive and the other has nearly nothing no food at all only a emergency box that both teams have.

The camps are every year different not only the location but also the structure. Example they can be split up into teams of countries or into a team with only woman that has a men as a leader and the other way around for the other team. Then after a period the teams will become one. No big difference with yours right?

In the first Survivor season the Tribe Council choice from the two left over candidates the winner by voting. But since then it has been changed. They still vote on the island but then the votes will be sealed and brought back by Helli to the studios not really because it's to far away. That's just the show around the whole thing.

After a few weeks there will be an big live show. Everyone will be there even from the old shows. The spectators like you and me can vote during the live show. So there are two vote's.

Now about the off voted people. How can they comeback?

I will give you two versions because like I said earlier in every season it's different.

Version #1

Everyone that drops out after the teams come together.

Get a second chance on a little island more a rock in the ocean. There isn't any food just a little beach with rocks and sand. You only can life on rice. You want to know how it works now here it comes. After some one is voted off there is a little talk with that person behind the scene.... on camera. They would be ask if they want a second chance if so they are send to that island. The first person will be waiting until the next person is voted off. After a day or so spend together they will take a physical challenge. (Who can stand the longest on a wooden post.) The loser has to leave. This will go on and on until. The day on the "real" island the last challenge will start at that moment the last voted off person that survived on the little island joins them. Everyone is really shocked because they didn't expected that.

I hope you could follow it all because it's hard to explain.

Version #2 My favorite!!!!!

This was last season. The teams are split up by country. They had to race too the island and climb into a separate cage for each team the last person that isn't in falls off. Now the first Challenge starts. They have to stay in that cage until the next day. In the heated sun. The team that gives up has to go to the tribe.

After that Survivor really begins the teams are dropped off on there island. That is what they think!!! Because in real they are on the same island only so far a part that they will never find each other.

The first person that wasn't in the cage.... so lost the race. Would be offered a second chance off course behind the scene like in version 1. Everyone that will be voted off incl. this person will be dropped in the middle of the island in a mangrove forest.

There isn't much in the mangrove only a little tree house. There is only food for a few days. When that's gone they need to find food.... but there isn't any. So when the teams are out for there challenge they will come and take there food. BUT!!!!!!!! 1 they need to travel for hours to go where the teams are. 2 If some one sees them. There second chance will be over. They will be ordered to leave!!!!!

On the day the teams will be mixed into one team. The mangrove people will get a time-challenge to go to the new location. If they are on time they will join the mixed team. Like in the first version the team is shocked to see them!!!!!

I hope it gave you a better light on the whole HOW!!!!! part.

If not just ask and I will try to explain it better.

So now that you got it........ I can nag you about.... WHERE IS THE UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL

Survivor: Ash Island

Postby JustSkipIt » Fri Feb 25, 2005 5:26 am

Tempest Duer -

veiled isis moon – Thanks. I’m so glad you like. More right now!

DreamLover – Oh My God! That’s so complicated! I can’t imagine how you can keep it straight. Ok, complicated and brutal. Ours I guess is much more straightforward: once you’re voted off, you’re off. The All-Star season (#8) was all people coming back and at the end they had a viewer vote for an additional million $ but that was in addition to the regular million $. Very interesting! Thanks.

Title – Survivor – Ash Island

Part 5 – Week 2

Author – JustSkipIt

Pairing – Who do you think? (W/T of course)

Feedback – Oh yes.

Spoilers–None

Ratiing – G to PG

Disclaimer – I own none of these characters nor do I own Survivor. And believe it or not, I also don’t own any small islands. On the other hand, this island is fictional so let’s say I own it. I’m making no money from this fiction and intend no copyright infringement.

More disclaimer – Yeah, I’m using and altering challenges from the actual show. Don’t sue me. It’s easier that way than thinking up 24 challenges myself.

Akathla Team – Day 4

We see the team coming out of their shelter and stretching or bending to get the kinks out of their bodies. Again they watch Mac doing his morning push-ups.

“I could really go for a cup of coffee,” Amy complains.

“You know ancient warriors just chewed tree bark to wake up in the morning,” Willow deadpans.

Opening Credits and Survivor Theme Song

MFashnek Team – Day 4

The team sits around the fire again sharing water and eating plantains. Tara appears to have been appointed cook and divides the fruits and passes them around along with a portion of rice.

“I wonder who they voted off,” Darla remarks.

“Well,” Richard starts, “I would think they’d need to keep some of their strength.”

“Right,” Faith responds a little aggressively, “whereas we have strength to spare?”

“That’s not what I was saying,” Richard defends himself as Faith and Kendra look around the group.

Confessional Caption – Kendra – Interpreter
“I’m not sure that it’s time to start being so divisive but I think that Richard’s trying to get Faith’s goat. Of course he wants to get off the physically strong people or he will get his ass kicked in the individual immunity challenges.”

Next we see Faith and Kendra walking through the trees looking for food. They walk up behind Tara who has gathered berries and is holding the bounty in the shirt she has stretched in front of her. “What did you find?” Kendra asks.

“B-berries,” Tara explains as she holds out a handful.

“Are they safe to eat?” Faith asks. Tara explains that she’s already done three days of testing the berries and knows that they are not poisonous. The three girls have a handful and continue gathering them.

“Richard, Robin, and Darla are going to want to get rid of the ‘young p-people,’” Tara states.

The three girls look at each other for a long moment. “We are the firestarters, the heart,” Kendra states with authority.

“Do you want to make an alliance?” Faith asks. Both other girls agree and state that they are going to the final three together. “Can you get Joyce to vote with us?” Faith asks Tara.

“I t-think so,” Tara answers.

Akathla Team

Buffy and Willow are bathing in the shallow water and talking, getting to know each other. Xander swims out and joins them, splashing them gently. Lacking subtlety he tells them, “Oz will come with us.”

“So this alliance is the final three?” Willow confirms. All three shake on it.

Meanwhile we see Mac talking to Andrew. “You can see how those three are,” he tells the young man. “You and I need to be strong together.” Andrew agrees and another alliance is born.

Akathla Team

“Tree mail,” Andrew called as he carried the small carved pig. “Quick hands, quick feet, you’ll get dirty but it will be worth it.”

“Chasing pigs,” Amy remarked, “Yuck!”

“Pigs are fine,” Willow muttered, “I just hope there aren’t any spiders.”

Confessional Challenge – Andrew – Chef
“We need to win a challenge but more than that, we need food. I think that everyone is getting to be really on edge. We’ve had virtually no water and little food in 3 days. I’ll be shocked if we can even complete the challenge today.”

Reward Challenge
The MFashnek team enters first to stand on their mat. Jeff announces their arrival and then the “new Akathla team.” Murmurs go through the group as they realize that the Akathla team has gotten rid of Wesley rather than one of the women.

“Today’s challenge,” Jeff quickly explains, “is very simple.” He points to a pen holding small pigs which are standing in the mud. “To win the game, six people on the team have to catch a pig and put it in this enclosure.” He points to the enclosure. “One person will hold the door.” “Want to see what you’re playing for?” The teams shout their agreement and he pulls the cover off a pile of items, including two blankets, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and a metal tin of matches.

“MFashnek, who’s sitting this one out?” he asks. The team points to Darla who stands to the side. Richard and Andrew take their places by the gate as Buffy and Faith line up to take their first chance at catching their pigs. Both girls rush into the pen and quickly corner their pigs. Buffy grabs hers by the leg and pulls in it to rush back to the enclosure while Faith dives and misses hers. As she stands up another pig literally runs into the back of her legs and she manages to grab it. In the meanwhile, Oz runs into the muddy pen and chases a pig toward the corner. When Robin enters, he dives at a pig but comes up empty handed. Oz traps a pig against the fence and quickly makes the score Akathla 2, MFashnek 1.

By the time Robin catches his pig, Xander has made it 3 to 2. Willow and Tara rush into the pen simultaneously. Tara slows as she nears her target while Willow rushes toward a squealer. Cornering her pig, the blonde is just about to pick him up as Willow dives for hers and slides into the girl’s legs. “Sorry,” she pants as Tara unexpectedly offers her hand before turning back to grab her pig. When the redhead gets hers also the score is 4 to 3. Joyce enters the pen next for MFashnek but can’t even the score. By the time the running, splashing, and squealing is over, the Akathla team has won its first challenge at 6-5. The MFashnek team stands dejected and filthy as the Akathla team hugs to celebrate.

“Everyone sit,” Jeff instructs and tells the Akathla team, “Ok now. You’ve both been out here four days. You can either take all your booty back with you or trade your blankets for matches and rice for the MFashneks.” The Akathla team discusses this for a few minutes with Mac, Andrew, and Amy arguing that it is a competition and that MFashnek already has fire and Willow and Buffy putting in that their good gesture could come back to help them later. After a few minutes discussion the team agrees to the trade. Jeff holds up the matches and rice and waits for someone to come forward. Willow steps up and takes the offerings then turns and walks toward the MFashnek team. Allowing her eyes to sweep over the motley crew, she delivers the gifts gently to Tara with a smile. As she hands her the items, she leans in and whispers in the blonde’s ear before turning back to her team.

MFashnek Team
The team returns slowly to their campsite. “Man, that soap would have been really good after that challenge,” Riley comments.

“Das the truth, mon,” Kendra playfully answers, faking a Jamaican accent and evoking laughter from the rest of her team.

As they walk the team breaks into smaller groups. Robin and Riley lead the pack; Kendra, Faith, and Tara follow them; and Richard, Joyce, and Darla bring up the rear. “What did the redhead whisper?” Faith asks.

“Willow,” Kendra says.

“Ok, what did Willow say?” Faith repeats.

“S-s-she said she’d l-like to share her shampoo with me,” Tara blushingly explains.

“You hussy,” Faith teases.

Kendra joins in: “Do you want to share her shampoo?”

“I w-want to win the game,” Tara assures the other two girls.

“Which I notice doesn’t answer the question,” Kendra teases.

Confessional Caption – Joyce – Art Gallery Owner
“When Willow handed Tara the matches today she seemed to whisper something to her. It makes me suspicious that maybe they know each other from before. I mean it’s not exactly something I’d put past the show; look at me and Buffy.”

Akathla Team
We see the Akathlas bathing with their new products and enjoying the feeling of having won a challenge. Mac and Andrew work the fire as Andrew cooks rice. Amy approaches them asking for a bite of the rice and they look to the younger group before giving her a taste. Later we see all the Akathlas around the fire enjoying drinks of water and small bites of rice.

Confessional Caption – Buffy – College Student
“It’s really hard being here. I feel close to this girl Willow but I know I’m keeping a big secret. And that’s the other thing. I’m concerned for my mom. She’s over there and she’s all alone. I hope she’s getting along ok and can eat and everything. It’s more nerve-racking than I expected.”

MFashnek Team
Confessional Caption – Joyce – Art Gallery Owner
“I’m really proud of Buffy for catching her pig today. I can tell that she’s doing great over there. The hard thing is that being here makes it all the harder to know what she’s going through. I almost wish I didn’t know.”

MFashnek Team – Day 5
Robin and Tara return from the tree mail with the day’s missive:

“Figure out who should lead
and who should follow blindly.
Skill at both will keep you here another day.”

“I’d say it’s one of those puzzles where one person directs and the others follow the directions while blindfolded,” Darla concludes.

Immunity Challenge
Everyone gathers and stands on the mats. The players seem to be taking more time to examine each other now that they are learning more and more. “Ok,” Jeff greets the group, “Akathla team. How are you feeling?”

“So much better now that we’ve had some water,” Amy answers, “if we could just get some coffee too…” Everyone laughs at her comment.

“Well, I can’t do anything about that but this game may determine how long you stay,” Jeff jokes back. Jeff points to the field in front of the players. A seat is mounted about 8-10 feet off the ground. That seat faces a field filled with brightly painted puzzle pieces, some nearly as large as the players. There are 10 pieces of each color. He quickly explains that one person on each team will direct the others who will be blindfolded. Those players must get every piece back to the mat before they can take off their blindfolds and assemble the pieces.

Quickly Darla and Willow take their places on the seats as the other players put on their blindfolds. Joyce takes a seat behind Darla as the person who is sitting out the challenge. As Jeff blows the whistle Darla and Willow begin shouting instructions to the players. Darla’s first instructions are to Riley and Robin who she sends the farthest out and then she directs the others. The excitement is high as Willow shouts to Buffy and Xander to bring in the farthest pieces and accidentally directs Amy into a tree. The dark-haired girl becomes lost and confused for at least 15-20 seconds as she continues trying to find her way back without direction from Willow.

On the MFashnek team, some players aren’t faring much better. Robin and Tara collide full force while both are carrying pieces back toward their mat and Tara drops her piece. Robin is able to continue back toward the mat and head out for another piece. Tara takes a moment to rest her hands on her knees as she is clearly winded by the collision. After a few moments she finds her piece again and makes her way toward Darla’s voice. In the meantime, Oz picks up a piece and barely avoids colliding with Riley. Although Willow’s directions appear to be more clear than Darla’s it is obvious that the MFashnek team’s strength is again an asset as Faith returns with the eighth piece for MFashnek while Oz is bringing only Akathla’s fifth piece.

Conserving her teammates’s energy, Darla sends only Robin, Riley, and Kendra for the last two pieces while the others gather their breath. When the three players drop the last pieces, MFashnek quickly peel off their blindfolds and attempt to construct the puzzle. As they look at the puzzle, the team begins fighting about how to place the pieces with Richard and Faith wanting to lead simultaneously. As they disagree about how to build the puzzle, Buffy drops Akathla’s final piece onto their map. The smaller team pulls off their blindfolds and follows Willow’s direction to build their puzzle. Unfortunately for them, even MFashnek’s bickering and Willow’s brilliant puzzle solving skills can’t overcome MFashnek’s lead. The stronger team places the final piece less than 5 seconds before the Akathla team does the same, again earning the immunity icon.

MFashnek Team
The walk back is somewhat more chilly as it is apparent that the MFashneks are splitting down a line with Faith and Richard leading the factions.

Confessional Caption – Faith – Personal Trainer
“Basically Dick’s done nothing since he’s been here but he thinks he’s the leader. I don’t mind if we let him think that as long as he doesn’t make us lose out there.”

Confessional Caption – Riley – Pro-Triathlete
“I think right now there’s a lot of politics going on. But I also think that the best strategy for me is to be a strong person on a strong team”

Akathla Team
We see Oz walk away from the fire to walk down the beach and a few minutes later Amy gets up to follow him. “You know what that’s about?” Buffy asks Xander.

“I’m guessing Mac, Andrew, and Amy here want to send one of us home,” Xander replies looking straight at Andrew and Mac.

“What makes you think we’re doing that?” Andrew asks.

“You’re not that subtle,” Xander explains.

“Amy’s been complaining a lot,” Mac mentions.

“We’ll think about it,” Buffy and Willow agree.

Confessional Caption – Xander – Construction
“Mac wants us to send Amy home tonight so he can save his own butt.”

Confessional Caption – Mac – Retired Military
“This Amy girl has just got to go. She’s always complaining about having no food. You know what? We’re all hungry. We’re all tired. We’re all thirsty. But she acts like she’s worse off. And she doesn’t make us stronger.”

Tribal Council
The Akathla team enters with their torches and takes their place on the benches.

“Mac,” Jeff directs his first question, “how is the mood around the camp?”

“Everyone’s pretty dejected about our losing the first two immunity challenges,” Mac explains.

“Do some people complain more than others, Andrew?” Jeff asks.

“I think some people are more hit by the hunger,” Andrew says.

“Let’s go vote,” Jeff tells them.

Amy votes first. She writes down Mac’s name and addresses the camera: “Sorry Mac, but you’re just too dangerous out here.”

Next is Mac and he writes down Amy’s name. We don’t see Xander or Buffy’s votes but do see Willow write down Amy’s name. Oz and Andrew finish off the voting.

Jeff returns with the votes and begins to count them. “Mac,” he counts first. Next he pulls a vote for Amy. The next four votes come up for Amy, completely surprising the girl. It is apparent that the girl has her torch snuffed rather than Mac to keep some strength on the team.

Parting Words – Amy
“Well I thought it was all settled and we were voting off Mac but I guess that’s how you play the game.”

Great update as always! I love how you're sort of developing a relationship between Willow and Tara, despite the fact that they're supposed to be rivals. I thought the fact that Willow wants to share her shampoo with Tara was quite cute too.

And what's this...'A visit to the enemy'?! Willow and Tara fun stuff?! maybe?! Can't wait!

Awesome, awesome update.

I love the dynamics between the different factions of the teams, and between certain members of the teams themselves. I get the feeling that the Akathla Trio is stronger than the MFashnek Trio when it comes down to loyalty; Buffy, Willow and Xander seem to have become comfortable with each other as friends (Buffy's statements about Willow, Xander splashing the two of them with water, etc.), whereas both Kendra and Faith seem to be cautious of Tara. Sure, they were joking around with her about Willow sharing shampoo- but I sense some suspicion, and even a bit of jealousy involved. Since Tara seems to think outside the box, though, and has some unusual skills, I find it unlikely that the two would turn on her right away- though it might lessen the chances of Tara convincing Joyce to vote with them. Well, come to think of it, Faith likely didn't screw Tara over at all, since by the time the show's over they've developed a close friendship. Still, I'm not too familiar with Survivor politics, so I can't really make many assumptions.

I have the feeling, though, that either Richard or Darla will be first to get booted from MFashnek.

I like your ominous "a visit to the enemy" by the way. Makes me wonder what enemy you're referring to. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a shift in loyalties in MFashnek- though you might also be hinting at Willow visiting Tara. Hmm.

Do not misunderestimate the intellectial brilliantliness of religious fundamentalistics.

They need Mac's strength so voting Amy off makes sense at the time, especially early on in the game when it's easy to pick off targets who appear to be obvious weak links -- Amy's complaining hasn't endeared her to her team, friendships and alliances haven't solidified yet. Thing is, Mac knows how to play the game and may be dangerous down the line.

It's so natural for the tentative alliances to be between people of similar ages, look at how Koror and Ulong tribes demarcated generally by age in Survivor-Palau. I agree with ravenousgrape, the B/W/X dynamics are more easy-going than F/K/T, though it may be because we're so used to them. So, Joyce and Buffy are mother and daughter, that's an unexpected twist, how masterful. Wonder what kind of shit will hit the fan once that secret is out. Is that the visit to the enemy next episode?

Now we know why Tara says Will had eyes on her since the first challenge, our redhead certainly hasn't wasted any time, and why not? Especially since Tara is receptive. Looking forward to more flirting between them, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they survive until the merge. Willow's saucy whisper about sharing shampoo is so sweet, but it seems to have put her and Tara in a slight disadvantage, of eliciting suspicion from their tribe. Great potential for character development.

To the challenges. I can honestly say it's very difficult to come up with challenges that are interesting, not repetitive and read well in a fic. The pig catching challenge is absolutely hilarious, I was reading it and could exactly picture each of them in the pen.

We're competing, really? If so, it's a friendly competition right? :D

This is definitely 'must-see TV' :D This is really great, thanks :bow

I'm thinking Willow's position in Team Akathla (have I mentioned I love the team names? I do) is fairly secure. True they've lost both challenges so far, but both times Willow's brainpower was a big asset to their performance. Unless the rest of the team is very short-sighted, they won't want to be without her.

Mfashnek, on the other hand, looks iffy to me - dividing up into factions behind Faith and Richard seems like it'll be more trouble than benefit. There's a reason ol' Julius kept saying 'divide and conquer', and it wasn't just because he wanted his own catchphrase... I think the best thing they could do is argue it out right away and get a single undisputed leader as quickly as possible. I'm hoping for Faith - there's no way Richard can compete with her Looks-Good-In-Leather-ness :drool

Tara got winded? Owwww :aww Points deducted from Darla there :impatient Maybe Willow can rub Tara's tummy for her when they get together to 'share shampoo'. That was a sweet moment, by the way (Willow whispering to Tara, not the winding thing).

I'm definitely buying the DVD of this season of Survivor when it comes out :) In the meantime, I'll be camped in front of my TV ready for more Willow/Tara goodness. Thanks :heart

This continues to be much more thrilling than the actual show, Debra, and I anxiously await each installment. I know you stated in the beginning that you were randomly drawing names to decide who gets voted off, and at first I kind of foolishly assumed that you might keep Tara's and Willow's names out of the drawing. Now I'm not so sure. Clearly Tara remained friends with Faith and Kendra, but that could have been forged while they all waited out the game at the resort. However you've done it (and I honestly don't want to know!), it's making the tension and anticipation palpable. Definite must-see tv...err...fic.

stillrunning – Thanks for responding. It’s definitely a challenge to develop a relationship for W/T at this point on the Island, particularly as any fraternization by them could make others suspicious. Yes, Willow is quite the flirt. Glad you’re intrigued.

ravenousgrape – You’ll have to wait and see about the Akathla/MFashnek Trios when it comes to loyalty and strength. I’m not sure I’d say that K&F are cautious as slightly curious, slightly teasing. You are right though: Tara has some crazy island skills. We’ll see if your feeling is right.

Vogelscheuche – Could be…

amazonaa – Thanks. Glad you like.

FireFlyofDust - :rofl Shampoo….

hidden Watson – Honestly I initially rolled Mac but it just made absolutely no sense to get rid of him so I re=rolled and goodbye Amy (not that I would miss her!). And you are right: Mac definitely has a game to play and a plan.

Yes and interestingly enough on that show, the young studs are getting their asses kicked. Ha ha.

Quote:

I’m not saying what the visit is but it will definitely piss everyone off when/if the other players find out.

Re: T/W flirting and danger from tribes. I don’t think any one is distrustful yet; mostly just amused at it. At the same time, look at Kim & Jeff on S-Palau – stupidly putting a target on Kim by snuggling!

That one was stolen directly from All-Stars. For most I’m either making them up outright or borrowing from prior Survivor versions. No, let’s not be competing but I totally love your KAR.

Artemis – Ha ha. Thanks. I agree with you regarding Willow’s place: she’s been the brains to help and hasn’t hurt anything physically. On the other hand, on Survivor they don’t always keep the helpful folks…

Well, I can see your logic but I can also say that’s not really the way Survivor works. Everyone knows that they have to vote off people first within their tribe and then in a merged tribe. You have to split somewhere so that you have an “other” to get rid of. Make sense?

Thanks so much.

Tempest Duer- Ha ha. Maybe you will see it soon.

littlecrazy80 – Thanks. :rofl

tarawhipped – Thanks.

Ok, honestly there were certain players who I knew their exit position. I placed them. Then I randomly rolled the immunity winners/losers and the order of exit for everyone else. It’s all set now but I have to write the episodes (which surprisingly enough, are much easier and faster to write then the “in-between” parts). That said, it’s entirely possible that F/K/T/W all got close sitting in the resort. Oh, BTW: I haven’t rolled the winner vs. 2nd place person yet. Thanks.

Hey Debra,

Wow, another amazing update from Ash Island.

The pig scramble was a hoot, and yes, I'm sure they could've all used the soap after that one. Shampoo sharing for our girls is good, I'm just a little surprised more of the other teammates weren't more suspicious of the whispering. I have an inkling that could come back to haunt them (but not in a bad, scary kinda way).

Can't wait to see what's next.

What a smoothy Willow is with the shampoo comment... I might have to try that line. Hee-hee

Hi there,

I finally got the time to give you some feedback.

I really could see Willow sliding to wards the pig yeah right... I just think she was to focused on those hot legs of Tara :wink

Who wouldn't be?

And the whispering Willow about the shampoo was a good move. See what I mean she was to focused on the legs. This just profs my theory hitting and drooling about Tara. But!!!! How cute and adorable it was... it was a stupid move to do it in front of everyone. It will make there life's a living mud pool so to speak. The others will eat them alive now they think Willow and Tara know each other.

I love this Faith.... duhhhhh I always think Faith is cool.... I love her saying I quote “You hussy,” Faith teases. That was so Faith like.

And about Buffy and Joyce I knew that so..... my theories aren't always correct but this time ...... :dance :dance I was right but that was a easy one.

Coming back to the shampoo it seem to be stuck in my mind. Are they eveeeeeeerrrrr going to do that? Your :devil in a good way off course but still....

I can go on and on about everything.... like that it was the right choice to dump Amy but I'm running out of time so I'm leaving it with this little feedback.

Thanks for the update and I'm hoping a new one will come soon.

I love survivor. This is great and I'm enjoying the way you're putting this fic together. I like flashing back and forth. It keeps the reader very interested. I was disappointed that you're only up to part 5. Damn!

So the fire building thing... it always bugs me that no one tries the magnifying with an eyeglass method. There's always someone wearing a pair and it is generally sunny on an island. I scream it when I see people never trying it. They just faint from rubbing sticks and blowing weeds. If you ask me, it seems like a HUGE waste of rubbing and blowing. Just my perspective.

Keep up the writing. I'm excited to read more.
