I think it's nice that for a change it's Tara who's "straight", but still she's first to say her feelings out loud. Willow's reactions was...Well, in a way understandable, but still. But now it's better. Slow is good (unless you take it slow rest of your life).

yes slow is good but willow needs to try again now that Tara has told her she wants to date her but I understand Willow is shy because of what happend but go for it girl. you only live once I loved the picnic thay are sweet together.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad you're liking it. As promised here is the next chapter. This one is just for a bit of fun.

Chapter 9 – The Book!

A week and 2 days had passed since their picnic. The pair had tried to spend as much time together as possible. However Tara was getting a little aggravated by the fact that Willow had barely made any romantic move towards her. She’d give her the occasional pat on the arm or hug but that was about it. Tara had decided she’d spent enough time doing nothing and tonight when Willow came over she would at least try to make a move.

Tara heard a knock on the door and knew instantly it was Willow. She quickly dashed to the door and opened it with a huge grin on her face.
“Hi. Looks like someone’s happy to see me,” smiles Willow cocking her head slightly to the side.
“Oh yeah of course. I’m always happy to see you. Come on in,”
As soon as the door had been shut Tara wrapped her arms around Willow pulling her into a big hug.
“I see someone’s really happy,” she smiles moving into the hug.
A couple of silent seconds pass before Tara lets go of Willow. She’s convinced she heard Willow sigh at the loss of contact. That seems to convince her she’s on the right tracks.
“So…how are you doing?” asks Willow moving out of the hug.
“Since as of yesterday?” Tara giggles a little “I’m good. I think I’m feeling better now,”
“Why’s that then?” grins Willow knowing the reason why.
“Well you know the usual. No-ones died, no-ones ill, I did okay at college and you’re here, so I couldn’t be better,”
“Good to know,”
“You? Sorry how are you doing?”
“It’s of the goodness too,” smiles Willow sitting comfortably on Tara’s bed.
Tara began to move towards Willow when Willow stopped something that almost made her forget to breathe.

What the hell is that? Am I reading it right? Tara has a book about Lesbian Sex in her room!?! Blimy! I wasn’t expecting that. Why am I so shocked? I know why because she’s straight! Why would she wanna know…? Oh!

The realisation hit Willow like a tonne of bricks. The look on Willow’s face was a stunned sort of look but also one of horror. This didn’t sit well with Tara at all especially as she had no idea where it came from.

Just as Tara sat down next to Willow, Willow stood up and headed straight for the bookshelf. Tara suddenly grasped what Willow was looking at and began panicking.

Oh God, how stupid could I be? I should have hid it better. She’s gonna think I’m like a sex freak or weirdo or something. Oh my God I have to fix this now!

“Willow!” shouts Tara.
Willow spins around immediately facing Tara with an intense gaze in her eyes.
“Um, do you fancy…a…drink?” asks Tara hoping that would distract Willow long enough for her to hid the book.
“No I’m okay,” she replies and carries on over to the bookshelf.

Slowly she pulls out the book and looks at the cover. ‘A Guide To Make Love To A Lesbian – For Women Only’

What a weird title. Thinks Willow as she begins inspecting it.

“Oh you wanna look at that book do you? Okay well just so you know I’m just looking after it for a friend,” says Tara nervously trying to cover her tracks.
“Right? A lesbian friend?” asks Willow a little annoyed that she can’t even admit it to her.
“Yeah right that’s the one,”
“I thought I was your only lesbian friend?” asks Willow curiously.
“Yeah you are so I’d bought it for you…No I didn’t! “

Stupid! Stupid! Oh my God! What an idiot am I? I bought it for Willow? Yeah right!

“Okay so you got me. It’s mine okay?” huffs Tara walking over to Willow snatching it out of her hands and hiding it behind her back.
“I thought so all along,”
“It’s no big deal. It’s just a book!”
“Does it have pictures?” smiles Willow mischievously.

She’s okay with this? She’s smiling? Oh thank the goddess

“Well yes it does…I think?” Tara blushes heavily.
“That’s nice. So you just happened to buy a book about sex when we haven’t even gotten to the kissing stage yet huh?” grins Willow stepping up to Tara.
“Well…I-It was just in case,”
“In case what? I feel like jumping ya?” giggles Willow putting her hands on Tara’s hips seductively.
“Well I don’t really know. I mean I’ve never even thought about those kinds things with girls so I mean I wouldn’t know what to do, if anything were to ever happen,” Tara gulped as Willow’s face began to move in closer to hers.
“It’s okay I understand. But hopefully when it comes to it you won’t need the book,” smiles Willow and plants a kiss on Tara’s cheek.
Tara sighed as all the tension just flew out of her at the feel of Willow lips on her skin. She never wanted this moment to end.

“Well I’ll speak to you soon. I’ll leave you alone with the book. I hope you two enjoy each other’s company,” beams Willow exiting the room leaving Tara stood dumb founded in the middle it. And yes Tara and the book enjoyed a lovely night of fantasies and dreams together.

Hello everyone, I'm back and with a new chapter.

Chapter 10 – I Though That We Would Just Be Friends

The Scooby gang plus Tara are all sitting around a table at the Bronze having a chat and a laugh.
“So you really fell off your chair? That’s so good!” laughs Xander at Tara’s funny story from her childhood. Willow couldn’t help but put her hand on Tara’s knee as support.
The gang had all taken to Tara straight away even Anya. She and Tara had seemed to get on really well, surprisingly. Willow had already had ‘THE talk’ with Buffy about how she liked Tara and they were sort of dating. Buffy seemed happy for her and seemed to genuinely like Tara too. However Willow had not spoken to Xander about it yet, sure she felt a little guilty but she’d tell him soon, maybe even tonight if the right moment arises.

Seeing Willow take Tara’s hand, Buffy asks Willow if she can have a word. They walk a few metres away into a slightly darker area.
“Hey, what do ya want?” asks Willow kindly.
“I’m just wondering if you’re gonna make a move tonight?”
“Huh?”
“On Tara? It’s so obvious you make each other happy. I can’t believe you haven’t gotten with the smoochies yet!!”
“Oh. Well to be honest I’m scared. I’ve never kissed anyone and neither has she. What if I’m really bad at kissing and do something silly?”
“Look you said yourself she’s never kissed anyone either so she won’t know what to do either or what to expect from you. Trust me it’ll be fine. Willow please do something soon. The angst is killing me here!” smiles Buffy.
“Okay. I will,” replies Willow with a determined face and hugs Buffy with force.
“I might be a Slayer but I need to breathe!”
“Sorry,” blushes Willow.
“Oh that’s a point have you told her yet, about the Scoobies?”
“Oh no. I can’t do that, she might freak, and anyway I didn’t know if you wanted me too,”
“I want. I mean when you feel comfortable I think she should know. She seems nice and I don’t want her getting herself into danger because she didn’t know about the big bad’s of Sunnydale,”
“Okay, I’ll do that too. Thanks Buffy you’re the best!”
“That’s what best friends are for right?”
With that they head back onto the table to join their friends.

Half an hour later and a song that Willow instantly recognises booms through the sound system.
“Oh Tara, wanna dance? I love this song!” Willow jumps up.
Tara nods and they make their way through the crowds to the centre so their friends can’t see them so well.
As the slow drum beats kick in Willow pulls Tara into her and snuggles up. Tara is quite shocked but very pleased she’s waited for this moment for so long she can’t help but beam.

I call you up whenever things go wrong.
You're always there. You are my shoulder to cry on.
I can't believe it took me quite so long.
To take the forbidden step.
Is this something that I might regret?

Willow rests her head on Tara’s shoulder and sighs. They slowly sway to the song as they listen to the very appropriate lyrics.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

A lonely heart that can't be tamed.

I'm hoping that you feel the same.
This is something that I can't forget


To the pair of them it feels as though there is no one else in the room right now. They’re so involved in each other they don’t notice their friends staring at them.

I thought that we would just be friends.
Things will never be the same again.
It's just the beginning it's not the end.
Things will never be the same again.
It's not a secret anymore.
Now we've opened up the door.
Starting tonight and from now on.
We'll never, never be the same again.
Never be the same again.

Buffy has a happy smirk on her face whilst Xander’s mouth is wide open in shock. Anya, well she’s just happy sipping on her drink.

Now I know that we were close before.
I'm glad I realised I need you so much more.
And I don't care what everyone will say.
It's about you and me.
And we'll never be the same again.

I thought that we would just be friends (oh yeah).

“Tara, I have to tell you that I really like you. I mean really and I want us to be girlfriends,”
“You do?” replies Tara so happy she’s holding back tears.
“I’m sorry I’ve been such a jerk about all of this but I wanna make it up to you tonight,” she smiles looking straight into Tara’s eyes.
“Tonight?” whispers Tara.

But sometimes it seems completely forbidden.
To discover those feelings that we kept so well hidden.
Where there's no competition.
And you render my condition.
Though improbable it's not impossible.
For a love that could be unstoppable.

But wait.
A fine line's between fate and destiny.
Do you believe in the things that were just meant to be?
When you tell me the stories of your quest for me.
Picturesque is the picture you paint effortlessly.


Willow nods and her head moves even closer to Tara. Tara’s heart begins to race as she realises what Willow wants. She slowly closes her eyes and their lips meet.

And as our energies mix and begin to multiply.
Everyday situations, they start to simplify.
So things will never be the same between you and I.
We intertwined our life forces and now we're unified.

As lips meet sparks are sent flying. Finally after the long wait they both got what they wanted and it’s the most amazing feeling they have ever experienced. Neither wants to pull away but their lips part slightly so they can to breathe, only to be brought back together again moments later.

I thought that we would just be friends.

After many moments of simply lips touching lips they pull apart, breathless and happy.
“That was wow!” sighs Tara holding onto Willow for dear life.
“I know. I so wanna do that again!” Willow grins.
“No argument here!” replies Tara as their lips meet for another long kiss.
Neither decides that they need to take the kissing to a deeper level, they are happy at the moment as they are just holding each other blissfully.

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the lack of updates i've had quite a week, i finished uni for the holidays on wednesday and had my Granny's funeral on Monday, but finally here I am hope you enjoy it!


Chapter 11- Anya Talk

The happy couple enjoy the rest of the dance and as they sit back down they look around the table at the different expressions on their friends faces.
Seeing the look of disbelief on Xander’s face she quickly grabs his arm and drags him off for a talk.
Tara sits uncomfortably next to Buffy trying not to look nervous, however it doesn’t seem to work.
“So you were straight? And Willow turned you Gay? I’m impressed she must be good,” smiles Anya staring at Tara.
“Um, well…” she blushes heavily.
“Ignore Anya, I’m happy for you and Will,” grins Buffy patting Tara’s knee.
“Hey! I’m supportive! I told Xander that I thought something was going on between you two and I was right. I have nothing wrong with Lesbians I just like the male body better,” she ends with a nod.
“Well that’s good I guess,” replies Tara as she feels like crawling into a hole.

…

“Will, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me,” says Xander sadly.
“I’m sorry I meant too I just... I didn’t know how to tell you,”
“You told Buffy though. I could tell she was smiling at you with a knowing glint in her eye,”
“I was going to tell you. It probably would have been tonight anyway,” she replies staring at the floor.
“Look Will. I’m okay with the whole you and Tara thing. It’s just a shock you know, I thought Tara was straight?”
“She is, well was, I’m not really sure to be honest. But we like each other a lot and we’re taking it slow,” a slight smile creeping onto her face.
“I take it that was the first kiss then? I’m sorry I had such an awful expression on my face, it must have put you off,”
“Oh no nothing could put me off,” she grins.
Xander takes Willow into his arms and they have a great big hug.

A little while later they join the rest of the group.

“Howdy!” smiles Willow and sits next to Tara.
Noticing the embarrassed expression on her face she almost knows exactly what’s happened.
“Anya what did you say to Tara?” she sighs staring straight at Anya.
“Oh not a lot. Just that I have nothing against lesbians and that you must be a very good lesbian to make straight Tara a gay Tara,” she smiles happily sipping on her drink.
“You said WHAT!!” she shouts standing up.
“Will its okay, just don’t worry about it,” says Tara tugging at Willow’s sleeve.
“I meant it in a nice way. Why does everyone assume that I’m mean? I like Tara, why would I be mean?” replies Anya almost crying.
“I’m sorry. I just. Sorry,” mumbles Willow and sits back down.

The rest of the night went well as the group chatted and had some more drinks. By the time they left they were very merry.

“I can’t believe they took the fake Ids! You’re a genius Willow!” grins Buffy.
Buffy, Willow and Tara began walking home together giddy from the alcohol.
“I’m a genius, yes I am!” Willow starts singing.
Tara and Buffy burst out laughing.
“Hey, What? I’m good at singing!”
“Sure you are sweetie!” smiles Tara and bumps into Willow. “Sorry,”
“So’ky. You can bump me anytime!”
“Willow!” Buffy and Tara laugh.

Out of the blue a huge green demon appears in front of the trio. Suddenly the drunkenness is forgotten and Buffy takes a fighting stance.

Sorry for the late update, I've been busy getting ready for my holiday. Hope you enjoy.



Chapter 12- Survival

The demon lunged towards Buffy but thankfully she was prepared and did a flying kick at its head, which stunned it for a few seconds.

Willow positioned herself in front of Tara trying to protect her.
“Oh my God! What is that?” shrieks Tara.
“It’s a demon. I’ll explain later, I just want you save right now. Go and hide behind that tree,” she says pushing Tara away from the action.
Inside Tara’s head she wants to protest but she would rather be safe right now.

Willow watches as Buffy easily gets hold of the demons head and breaks it’s neck. It lands in a pile in front of Buffy, lifeless.
As Buffy begins to hide the demon in the bushes Willow takes Tara’s hand and leads her out from behind the tree.
She is visibly shaking and can’t believe her eyes.
“Oh my God! Are you okay?” asks Buffy rushing over to the pair.
“I’m okay, not to sure Tara is though,” sighs Willow holding onto Tara for dear life trying to keep her upright.
Buffy grabs Tara as well and they begin to walk towards the dorms.
Half way there Tara starts laughing.
“That’s a good one guys. A demon? Yeah right! More like a guy in fancy dress!” she giggles.
Buffy and Willow give each other a look to say we’ll tell her later.

“Will? Do you want us to take her back to her dorm? You could stay with her there,”
“Sure good idea,”

…

After sitting Tara down on her bed, Willow and Buffy move to the other side of the room to discuss a plan.
“What are we gonna tell her?” asks Willow slightly distraught after seeing Tara so terrified.
“The truth I guess. There’s no way around it Will,” sighs Buffy sadly.
“But she’ll freak! I don’t want her to get upset again. She seems to have calmed down a little now,”
Willow looks over at Tara who has lain down on the bed exhausted.
“That’s partially to do with the alcohol. I can stay if you want? I mean maybe I can help explain stuff?” asks Buffy
“No, it’s okay. I’ll do it, but thanks for the offer,”
“Okay I’ll go now. It’s getting late. Take good care of her Will,” she smiles softly.
“Oh I will,” she smiles back.
Buffy leaves the room with a ‘bye’ for Tara.

As soon as the door shuts Willow moves over to Tara’s side. She sits on the bed and takes Tara’s hand. She slowly begins to rub it with her thumb to try and sooth her.
“How are you doing?” asks Willow gently.
Tara looks up at her and smiles.
“It wasn’t a man in a costume was it?” she sighs.
“No, it wasn’t,”
“Thought not. I was really scared, but the walk gave me time to think. Those times I heard you mention vampires and demons, I never thought they were real,”
“You heard me say stuff with those words in?” says Willow anxiously.
“Yeah. You kinda slipped up a few times, but I just guessed you meant something else,”
Tara began to slowly sit. She looked straight into Willow’s eyes and saw fear embedded in those green eyes she came to love.
“Willow. It’s okay you don’t have to worry anymore. You’re secrets out, I know about the demons and stuff. I’m guessing you and Buffy fight them or something?”
“We all do. I mean me, Buffy, Xander and Anya. Well we try and fight them anyway,” she hesitates.
“Don’t worry I know why you’d keep something like that from me. I’m not angry. I still love you,” she smiles.
“You do?”
“Of course. It’s going to take more than that to stop me loving you,”
Willow smiles, she moves closer to Tara and plants a tender kiss on her lips.

“Mmm, that was nice,” says Tara kissing Willow back.
Willow lets out a quiet yawn, and Tara soon follows.
“I think we’d better go to bed, it’s been a big night and all,” says Willow.
“Yeah, good idea,”

They are both so tired that they just lie back down in their clothes and snuggle against each other. Not long after they have drifted to sleep, both in the knowledge that they survived the night.
