-------------------------------Part: 3--------------------------------
It consumed her.
The darkness was like a simple sweep that was so easy to conjure within, placing any humane thought of her past aside. The witch. She felt the power that these weathering dark clouds gave to her, this power to connect every atom, every molecule, inside her body to create this perfect supremacy. The void of rejection. It had consumed her eyes, which now formed black empty pits where her jaded brilliance once was. Her veins opened letting the magick stimulant flow open and freely.
Simple. . She thought.
So much power, so easily gained. It took her a second to bring herself back into the reality of her situation. The rodent gnawing on her neck almost became a side thought. He, being obviously and ridiculously stupid and young didn’t even taste the change in her blood, which gave her the upper hand for a surprise attack. So powerful this lackey had become. So powerful without even questioning consequences.
“Van de macht die ik hanteer” Willow mumbled with focus. “… haal ik een zwaard van magisch te voorschijn om dit…… undead te doden!”
With just those words, the demon flew back into the dresser. It was funny to see the surprise in his eyes. Willow almost smirked. But she couldn’t. This foggy darkness was all that she was now. These repetitive thoughts.... the push over, you have to do something, the loser, you can’t just die, the geek, not like this, the witch…this was, for that moment, all she was in the universe.
The vampire wiped the trickle of witch blood from his thin vile lips and defined pale chin. He kept himself on that dresser in defense mode. Willow watched him.
That dresser…her thoughts trailed…she was not used to this surplus amount of power… it was hard to contain
...Mrs. Summer’s dresser…Joyce’s dresser…the dresser that Buffy and I took earrings from when Joyce wasn’t home…laughing… and giggling…Oh stop it Willow you know your a hot mamba jamba…As proof that I’m not, you used the phrase mamba jamba…more laughter…Buffy’s dead now…dead…Joyce is dead…you musn’t die…YOU CAN’T DIE!!She was jolted into sudden clarity, attention directed to the neck of the vampire where blood once ran through, pulsing with life. The creature looked strangely at her.
“What the hell are you?!”
So many answers to that simple question.
What are you Willow Rosenberg? What are you? So many thoughts rushing through her head… she heard this question but was slightly delirious with all this power surging. That’s when he decided to make his move to gain the control that he once had.
He was moving very fast, but it all seemed so surreal and slow that she could see his first striding step forward and surfaced her strength to continue this fight, to say the two words she knew would end this.
“Nu brandwond!”
Before the creature could reach forward to grasp the red head, his flesh lit up in a flame that quickly devoured his undead body. He screamed and wriggled. Threw himself on the hard floor, kicking and screaming. Willow watched. Indifferent, unmoved, delirious. This demon withered into ash on the ground and she….she felt her muscles loosen…she lost control of her balance ….she slipped towards the floor.
All the screaming drew Tara into the room quick enough to catch her falling girl. Xander and Dawn followed. They lifted Willow by her weak arms and held her.
“Willow!?” Tara said. She was shaking with confusion. “Willow!! What happened baby?! What happened!?!”
Xander caught site of the pile of fresh ash on the bedroom floor.
Vampire Intruder…he thought.
Boy was this a bad time for the worst housewarming gift ever. He quickly returned to Willow. Her eyes were fluttering. There was no familiar hint of green he was so used to seeing though. Her eyes opened and he caught the dark, empty wells. He had never seen Willow like this and he had known her for…practically all her life. His mouth opened for air. But he could not form words.
Willow’s eyes opened gently and were suddenly their true, natural shade of green. Her mouth moved slightly but nothing came out. Tara held her girl’s face in her hands but looked directly at Xander.
“Call 911, we need to get her the hospital!” she said.
Suddenly Xander’s voice caught up with him, “Can you lift her?” he said. Tara nodded which sent Xander on his way, with all his speed towards the telephone.
“No!”
Tara and Dawn just stared at the red head.
“No… it’s ok…” she said.
“But Baby your..”
“I’m fine Tara…I just…,” Willow stood wearily, “need.. need to lay down.”
Tara and Dawn walked this, now, limp body towards the bed to lay her down.
“Go get her some water and a damp cloth Dawny.”
Dawn swiftly took to her duties, careening down the short hallway towards the kitchen, leaving Tara to tend to her broken love.
“Willow, look at me sweetheart…Look at me...”
Willow struggled with her eyelids. They suddenly became so heavy. She was barely squinting at Tara. It was all she could mange and then finally…. she blacked out.
She knew then… The freak. The one in the front row. She knew that the conversation that passed between her and Tara, her and her friends, her and anyone about what happened that night would be misguided and false. She knew she couldn’t tell her love. The bubbly red head. The sidekick. The witch. These things all fell secondary to how she felt when…when she held that immense power. I was defending myself. It was defense. He was going kill me. He was going to hurt everyone. I had to. It was the only way. I had to save Tara. My love. I had to save her.
But she knew. She knew what she had touched. She had touched something intense…something dark…something beastly within herself.
And she loved it.
And she knew it.
