Dawn

Postby Tulipp » Wed Jul 10, 2002 8:10 pm

So, I'm wondering when Dawn's birthday is....is she 16 yet? When does she turn 16? Am I forgetting a "Dawn's birthday" episode that I should be remembering? Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

Re: Dawn

Postby Loco2 » Thu Jul 11, 2002 10:49 am

wasn't dawn 14 when she was first introduced in season 5? or did i imagine that?

anyhoo, question i am expecting either no response or 'no' for answer for; does anyone know where i can get hold of a short 'fear, itself' movie of anya in the bunny suit? at any point when she's wearing it. or a 'tabula rasa' one with her summoning them and not being able to get rid of them? and can you edit them or add words in using flash 5? which if you can, i must figure out how to use....

any response would be much appreciated,

Willow's father is named Ira and Willow has never mentioned a middle name on the show, but in second draft of the shooting script for Bad Girls, she tells Buffy her middle name is Danielle.

Video hosting space

Postby Pipsqueak » Fri Jul 12, 2002 3:20 pm

Okay, this is a VERY different sort of "creative help" question than most of the others on this thread, but I'll give it a shot. :)

I've almost finished my brand-new W/T video and am looking for a place to host it. Usually when I create videos, I make two different copies - a "low-quality" version at around 5-6 MB, and a "high-quality" version at around 20-25 MB. Hosting the low-quality version isn't a problem; I've got enough space & bandwidth for that. But I would really really like to make the high-quality version available also, especially if the response to the low-quality version is good, and besides it looks MUCH MUCH better! (and I like to see every single detail of Willow and Tara ... ahem :grin ) So this is really a question for all of you Kittens who make videos. Do you create large-size versions of your vids, and if so, how do you share them - free web hosting, paid web hosting, ftp, get someone else to host it for you, etc.? Is there a particular web space provider you could recommend?

Thanks in advance for all your help!!

edited to add: hey, check me out. I'm a floating rose. heh.

I have sent a few new fics to the completed fic archives. If your fic has been finished for over a week, you can contact me to move it, if I haven't done so. I know I miss some.

I created that archive because there were people who wanted to read fics only after they were finished. So this was a way to showcase those fics. However, it doesn't mean you can't reply! You can reply, of course, they still deserve feedback. It's just, I have to approve them first. I don't want new threads, but please feel free to give feedback.

Pipsqueak, I do both high quality mpgs, for my lower quality format I use real media. But the average mpg size is about 25-35 MB, Real Media coming in around 15 - 25. I ended up paying for hosting to be able to serve my own videos, there are no reliable free sources for large media sources.

Well officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.

Rally, I figured as much! Thanks for the info. Just wanted to be sure there wasn't some hidden free service out there before I started forking over the money. :)

Fanfic Posting Question

Postby jixer » Mon Jul 15, 2002 1:55 pm

Hello kittens-

First, thanks for the help with the names question earlier. You have been too kind.

To the matter at hand-fanfiction. I've got a story that is growing out of all proportion set after season six. I'd like to post it here but it's very Tara-centric (post season sucks Tara centric?-yes) and has, I admit, some misdirection. There are no easy answers and it is fairly brutal on everyone.

But then, a faint heart never won a fair lady.

My second point of concern about the fanfiction and this board is that we see in the story several post season six developments through Tara's interpretation i.e. not quite sure about Willow and orientation. There is no resolution until the third part of the opening stories.

My opinion, by the way, is love is love and orientation is what other people slap on to label things for their own comfort. I now climb off the the soapbox.

I've gotten it beta read by a B-reader found through this board and it has been submitted to Wiccan Ways. I would like to know if I should or should not post it here.

Thank you for your consideration and your time,

J

Re: Fanfic Posting Question

Postby xita » Mon Jul 15, 2002 2:19 pm

The fiction posted here, should be w/t centered. If you have question about what that means, mail me xita@xita.org. While Tara leanings is certainly fine, the purpose should be the willow and tara romantic relationship. For instance a Tara story set entirely during the break up, or a pre-willow Tara story would not fall under the guidelines of the FAQ. The misdirection you speak of? I'd very much like to know what it is and what your concern is please mail me.

Looking for a story

Postby Zaybian » Tue Jul 16, 2002 5:01 am

Hi all!

I barely started reading a story awhile ago, but never finished it. I could have sworn it was on this board. Willow arrived at the Magic Box, blew past everyone and escorted Tara into the training room at the back. I do remember her saying "I need to talk to my girlfriend" to either Giles or Anya. Next thing I knew, Tara was up against a closed door LOL...does anyone know where I can find that story?

great W/T image needs a home

Postby Verdant » Wed Jul 17, 2002 1:41 pm

Help. My friend Photoshopped an awesome tribute image of Willow and Tara but I have no web space to host it and post it. If anyone is willing to host it, we can post a link or the pic itself here on the board for everyone to enjoy. It's worth seeing.

Barring any of that. Email me and I'll send it to you. It's not big enough be full size wallpaper but tiles nicely and not too small to look at.

Late season 6 transcripts

Postby darkmagicwillow » Wed Jul 17, 2002 2:18 pm

Does anyone know where I can find transcripts of late season 6 episodes? I usually get mine from Pysche but they stop at Entropy and http://www.ltmiz.com/wt/ stops at Seeing Red.

Hi-

I'm not sure how complete some of the transcripts are but the url below might help.

www.buffyworld.com/buffy/...eason6.htm

I've looked there for a couple of quotes. Fairly complete but once in a while something gets dropped.

Don't go to buffyworld.com itself unless you're quick or don't care about spoilers, but the Season pages are ok.

Hope this helps,

I'm looking for someone with a web site, preferably a Willow and Tara web site, to host my stories. I know some of my stories are already out on several web sites, but I copied all of them I could find off my computer and onto a couple of disks, and I would like to find somewhere else to put them so other fans could enjoy them.

The problem is, I have neither the time or the know-how to do a web site of my own.

Any takers?

Don't respond here though. I don't get on-line often, though I may be on for most of the day. Write me at kirkbwriter@juno.com

Some published gay fanfic books?

Postby Kieli » Thu Jul 25, 2002 3:09 pm

I know someone once told me that I could find a place on Amazon that had publishers who published the gay-themed fanfiction from popular television shows. Can anyone provide those links for me again? Thanks much.

Re: W/T expert beta readers needed

Postby DigificWriter » Thu Aug 01, 2002 8:29 am

Hi. I'm currently working on a rewrite of Season 4 called "Alternate Buffy". I'm working on episode 6 and have just split up Oz and Willow. In my episode 6 script, I am planning on introducing Tara, and will be continuing to build her association with Willow and the Scoobies throughout the rest of the season. I want to get the W/T relationship in my series as close to the actual S4 W/T relationship as I can, and in order to do that, I need some beta readers to critique my scripts to make sure that I'm building the W/T relationship right. The only requirement necessary to apply for these positions (I'm looking for at least two people to beta read my stuff) is that you have to be an 'expert' on W/T. If you can help, e-mail me at digificwriter@hotmail.com.
