Everytime I receive a PM on this board you get a email, that there is a PM waiting for you. That is so cool but sometimes I receive a few of them and when I log in there is just one or a few PM's instead of the number of emails I received. Could it be that if the person deletes the pm out of the send (underway) box. That the person that should get it never gets that PM? Or is there just a problem?

That's probably what's happening, DreamLover. As soon as someone sends you a PM, it automatically does that email notification thing. If the sender then deletes the PM before you read it, it's gone. It'll look like something's wrong with the notifications, but it's just a deleted PM.

How many are we talking about? And how often? If it's just one or two every now and then, that's probably what it is. If it's a lot more and a lot more often, that might indicate a problem of some kind. (Although I suppose that if someone wants to PM you but is really struggling and/or hesitant, she/he might send and then delete a PM several times. Or perhaps they are just catching typos or making editing changes, not realizing that it's notifying you every single time they hit the Send button.)

Thanks maudmac for the fast answer. I will keep track on the number of times and if it's getting to many I will let you know.

I was gone for about 4 days and just was able to check my mail and I guess I had a message but I just went to the PM box and nothing was there....I never get PMs so I'm curious as to what it was all about?

Usually what's happened when you're notified you have a PM but there isn't one there is that the sender has deleted it before you read it. Once a PM is sent, the notification is sent automatically. If the sender then deletes the PM, it doesn't notify you about that. (And a sender can delete a sent PM up until the time you read it.) Unless whoever sent you that PM gets in touch with you about it, there's no way to know who sent it or what it said.

I've been getting spam PMs lately. From the same person.

Can this person be banned?

They're deleted at the moment. If they come on again, we'll try just banning it and see how long that lasts.
