I've signed the Buffy.com.au petition, but I'll go email C7 and probably TV week as well. Let's get some more publicity for this, I mean there are enough Aussie Buffy fans to change this, it happened once before with the earlier time slot, we can do it again. Go team

I have signed the petition at the buffy.com.au site, e-mailed C7 and TV Week. I had a look at the SMH site but I couldn't find an appropriate point of contact.

Let's tell them that we won't be short changed!

Sigh . . . .

I had a bad feeling about this and I was right. No - not the editing, although it really annoys me now that I have seen the transcript of the unedited version. No the storyline which looks far grimmer than any season to date. (I have been sailing in the good ship Spoiler Free)

Sigh . . .

Oh well - we'll have to wait and see - won't we.

Okay, now things are getting even wierder. Looks like we just got a scene from the first episode inserted into the second episode.... the one where Spike looks out the window and sees the demons on bikes and tells Dawn to stay away from the window, and he goes to check the house.... am I right in thinking this should have been in the first episode??? I don't know what they're doing...

Well I'm happy with the second half! The d/led version I have was hugely cut [i'm thinking it was for size purposes] so heaps of the scenes were new to me. [most of the first 20 mins] They won't/shouldn't cut the rest of the episodes as they are standard length [except for OMWF and seven has assured that they will play the full extended version]

BTW, hey Kyri! haven't heard from you in AGES! [probably cause i was a retired kitten until 2 days ago]

no and AFAIK it was pretty much intact - apparantly though the scene with Dawn and Spike in the house where he tells her to get away from the window was originally in the first half. I have not had time to compare so I don't know for sure.

That's good to hear...

Got a question. "If the Scoobie Gang were trying to keep Buffy's death a secret, wouldn't the headstone give it away?"

Cause no one buy their own headstone before they die, that's sick..

So we're getting the musical uncut??? That's the first I've heard. I sure hope it turns out that way.

True... it was silly, but the grave was not in one of Sunnydale's 12 cemeteries. It was in the middle of the woods. I think they thought no one would find it...

Uhh Zerattakis can I ask how/where/HOW you found out that the musical is going to be shown uncut?!? It's just the first I've heard of it. Did you get an email from seven, or on a website or in an article? Any info?!?

Scoobiedoo: Thanks, I didn't notice that.. I just thought the cemetery was backed onto some woods.

What about the person who made the Head Stone and the coffin? Speaking of which, having had to order a head stone myself, they take a while (2 months) to make and they are blood heavy, would be hard to carry all the way out into the woods, along with the coffin.

Well, that's my thoughts anyway.

I got the info off the auswilltara list. One of the memebers rang seven and had a bitch to them. Apparently they had no idea that the copies they are showing were edited [they didn't edit it themselves] and when told that the musical is extended, they said they would show it uncut as well as ringing the distributor to find out why they are not receiving the originals. If you don't believe me, here is the link to the post: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/auswilltara/message/239

I actually started wondering if 7 knew they were showing edited episodes. Cause at the end it has the date 2002 instead of 2001.

Well I believe last night's ep was the normal US version, it had the 2001 date on the end instead of 2002, like the previous two. Let's hope the rest are the normal eps.

No probs! NO ONE will ever like the ppl at channel seven! not even I have those powers! Anyway, last night's ep went off without a hitch, so we can assume that's how it'll be for the rest of the normal length eps. The real test will be the musical, in which we'll see if they'll keep their promise.

I noticed that too. It's kinda like the american credits. Wonder why the change? Maybe it's to do with whom ever is the distributor/editor?
