You lucky people! I had the enormous pleasure of meeting Amber last year at Nocturnal, here in the UK. What can I say - inspirational, beautiful and just downright bloody nice - I don't think I'm fully recovered yet.

Hey, shout out to all Montreal, Quebec Kittens who'd like to attend the Toronto Trek this year (or if you can reach Montreal one way or the other).

I can give a ride to 4 people in my superbely old and distressed car wannabe. We can even dress the car as a HUGE kitten! It's an 8 hours drive, which means lots of Subway and loads of fun on the way. I don't have sleeping arrangements, although I have something mildly ressembling a trailer. We could rent a camping place and all kitties could sleep under the moon! Email me for info :

OMG, I am SOOO Excited, 109 more day's will TORONTO TREK! :-) I'm Finally getting my Pre-Registration on Tuesday. YAY. I'm all excited. But then again, It's AMBER, so how can I not be all hyped up. Hey all...very excited, giddy even, can't quite find the words.
Anyway, my wife and I are thinking of making the drive to Toronto for the Trek. We're coming in from Detroit, never having visited Toronto before. Wonder if any of you hometown Toronto folks could recommend a nice hotel, near the Trek. Somewhere gay and family friendly; we have a 2 year old son and we'd like to make it fun for him as well. Corinthian the t-shirt idea is still brilliant in my opinion...Remember what's ON the t-shirt (or in my case...the sexy tank top!!!)

And Lisa, you can get a room at the hotel where the Toronto Trek is being held. When you reserve a room though just remember to say you want the convention rate for the Toronto Trek so you can get a cheaper price

My bad, haven't even done enough homework to know the thing is in a hotel as opposed to a convention center or something. I'll keep checking in occasionally as July approaches. Can't wait for the boy to meet his first Klingon.

Lisa and any out-of-towners interested in gay friendly accomodations. You can try a bed and breakfast in the village (I've stayed in two and they were decent). You can check out gay friendly stuff at www.gaycanada.com . Just go to Regional->Ontario. Then click on Toronto.

Diegosmumma; I'll be heading to the convention from Detroit too, although I've been to Toronto many times before. I've made reservations at the hotel where the convention is being held. The rates are extremely reasonable if you let them know that you're attending the convention, and it looks like a pretty nice place too. There are a lot of fine hotels in downtown Toronto, but they would be too far from the convention site to be practical. You might want to check out the hotel website on the link that Eek provided. Maybe the Detroit kittens will have a get-together at the hotel site too. Have a great time!

Oh dear oh dear oh dear... Amber and Mariposa folk festival in the same weekend... which to choose, which to choose? (That may seem rhetorical, me posting on here and all.. cause, I mean... Amber! But the folk festival is a big thing for me, particularly as it is a little tradition I do with friends I don't get to see enough... and... and...) Oh dear oh dear oh dear...

*realizes belatedly this may be extremely pointless to post, but needed to state the dilemma somewhere... hopes no one minds terribly*

I had an idea... perhaps could folks tell me abit about this convention (if they know stuff about it?) and how conventions work in general? You know, meeting other kitties, how much you get to see the actor you get to see, and anything else? I can't really compare if I don't have a clue what it's like, I'm thinking.. so um... email me? Thanks, it is greatly appreciated...
