Okay, I'm bringing back something that was posted yesterday and then deleted. It has to do with the Big Scooby Death, but I checked with the mods and they determined that it does in fact qualify as "new, substantial, and legitimate spoilers regarding a possible big scoobie death as it relates to Willow and Tara."It should also help reassure some folks who got rattled by the BS on the last page.
This is from the Amber interview that just came out in the UK Buffy magazine. If you want to read the entire interview, you'll find it on this page of that thread.
What strikes me as particularly interesting - and encouraging - about this passage is the fact that Amber laughs when the Big Scooby Death rumor is mentioned. It's as if she knows what's been going around the net all year and thinks it's funny. I could be wrong, but it suggests to me that the rumors we've been hearing are way way off. I still think there might not be any Big Scooby Death at all.
I am very glad this was allowed to be posted, and do see it as a hopeful sign. While I totally get why so many posts got deleted yesterday (I myself had gone a bit into rant mode on the subject, and I apologize) I do think Amber laughing about it is a significant and positive thing. Doesn't sound like she's going anywhere to me, or that any of the writers or cast members seem to be taking these rumors very seriously.
quote:First off, love tara/willow... amber/aly. Not an issue here.... wanna see them both stay around.... but I gotta say, much of the conversation on this board seems very much like whistling through the graveyard..... Personally, my guard is up, big time, and I won't relax untill I hear that Amber is signed on for next year (heres to hoping). I think that the fact that we have not heard anything one way or another on this issue does not bode well. Some have asked, why would they announce that Amber is not coming back now, (though I agree that the sources are questionable,) when we can all see that Willow and Tara are nearing reconcilliation? The answer to that is, because its what Joss does. Its classic for him. Make us believe that everything is gonna work out for the best and then... when we least expect it.... he rips out our heart, throws it on the ground.... and does the dance of evil glee upon it. Think hes above such things? Look at the trip to hell that Angel got sent on, and the death of Buffy's mother. So I say come on people, let me know that Amber is signed on so that I can rest easy. And in closing, let me say that I really love that Joss and company are willing to kill off characters. It builds a tension and sense of real danger that I have never experienced with any other tv show. Bravo people..... except now Im completely paranoid.....
In closing.... yay Amber.... stick around please!
Please dont delete this post. Im just joining in a conversation that I did not start.

This worries me. Wasn't one of the lines in the scene Dark Sheep gave us something like "With us...who are just friends". So, does that mean they're just gonna be friends? 'Cause that would be the worst thing Joss could do...he just loves torturing the audience.

ACT ONE
Int. Uc Sunnydale Campus- Day
As students stream out of class, we see WILLOW, books in hand, leaning up against the wall of the building. Kinda focred casual. TARA comes out of class. Willow sees her, brightens, walks to her.T: Hey
W: Look at you. All coming-out-of-class and everything.
T: (smiling) I do that sometimes. Usually at the end part of the class.
W: Right [ for some reason the script says Warren, I guess they need a reader. Ruth you might want to apply! But Willow does say this line]
They walk together. Slowly. Not rushing anywhere.
T: (pointing awkawardly at Willow's neck) How's your...you know, after the basement deal?Willow swivels her head, testing her neck.
W: It's between a hitch and a kink. With a side of twinge. It's okay.
T: And Buffy's okay too? Enjoying the refreshing sanity and so forth?
W: (overdoing) Ha! Yes! Refreshing san--that's funny! (compensating soberly) She's okay. A little...freaked. I'm glad she didn't hurt you.
T: You too.
A beat of silence, then:
T (cont'd): So this is becoming kind of a regular thing. You and me after class.
W: Uh, I didn't...
T: only this time you stuck around.
W: Oh, um...various sounds of hesitation [again I believe this should have been in parentheticals]
T: She was just a friend.Willow's caught a little off guard. But relieved.
W: Friends are nice!
T: You rushed off before I could, you know, explain.
W: Officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.
T: Unofficially?
Willow just grins a big grin. They walk in silence for a moment. Willow, still nervous, takes a deep breath, then:
W: We should get coffee some time. Maybe some day this week after class.
T: I am free tomorrow. [{I know we're all cheering right now.}]
W: You could, you could bring your friend.Tara's actually a little thrown by this.
T: I wasn't gonna--I mean, if you have a friend-- [uh oh! But alas:]
W: No! I'm, oh, I'm friendless.
T: Yeah, yeah. No friends--I mean, I have friends...[sadly I wasn't her friend ]
W: Many dear friends, yeah, but--
T: Coffee.
W: With us. Who are...just friends.Eventually later they go to the Expesso Pump and Anya shows up and ruins their Coffee date so to speak. I have more info, but I think this is good enough for now. I'm sure someone else will have the info that I am NOT going to post at this time. Too much of a good thing can kill you!
For I am Dark Sheep Mysterioso. May all lesser sheep bow before me. And on a personal note, you will very much like the way this episode ends
Looks like Willow has been trying to "accidently" bump into Tara, and she accidently saw Tara talking to another girl and in a very Willowlike insecure cute way thought this might mean Tara was making a new "friend", so she fled, Tara makes it clear that the other girl was just a friend in the she was just a friend sense, not the kind of friend Willow is talking about in her last line. Am I making any sense? I hope not.
Anyway, this whole scenario is so obvious them flirting and courting, no way they will be "just friends" from now on.

Wanda has a new update, and has the following to say about the BSD:We all know what a big fan Joss Whedon is of spreading misinformation. But I have been able to confirm this tidbit with someone who seems to be a straight-shooter: The Scooby in danger will sacrifice herself to save a loved one. (Oops, did I make that gender reference out loud?)
http://www.eonline.com/Gossip/Wanda/Arc ... 20308.htmlNew Wanda BSD Spoiler: Note: Still sounds like she doesn't know anything!
2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Rumors are rampant that a major character will die by the end of the season. Who should it be?
27% Tara17% Anya
16% Spike
7% Giles
25% Dawn
8% Xander
Just one thing. I don't belive the rumors too. I don't like Wanda, actually. And i think that if a BSD happened, it won't be Tara.
I'm just posting this, that's all.
SO PLEASE, DON'T SHOOT ME!!!

quote:"I've read this tale, there's wedding then betrayal..."
So now we've had the wedding, what do you think the betrayal's going to be? Is it Xander betraying Anya by backing out on her?
I tend to think it's something bigger coming up. Would Anya (or maybe Anyanka) betray Xander, or the Scoobies somehow? Or maybe she just somehow feels betrayed and lashes out accordingly? Or would Anya be betrayed by someone else, like Halfrek?
Lots of possiblities.

I agree the Wanda's spoilers need to be taken with a truckful of salt. So I wouldn't worry about anything she ever says. As for Anya's betrayal, there are certainly rumors flying that she's going to try and go all vengeance on Xander's ass ...

Leave it to Wanda to use the words CONFIRM and SEEMS in the same sentence. I'm bettin' Herc is her 'source'.
EDITED to add:
Oh and when this BSD doesn't happen, it'll all be blamed on Joss' disinformation team speading rumors. Not 'sources' getting things wrong, cause well they never SEEM to be wrong!!!! grr

I get that everyone here mistrusts and loathes Wanda, but I have to ask, how is it that some think that her recent post reveals nothing? Her statements here seem to be the most specific of any spoiler/rumor that Ive heard all season. Moreover, given the specificity of her current spoilers and being so late in the season, I cant believe that this is just idle speculation. I just hope that Wanda does not have the last laugh on this matter.

She probably got that from all the post HB rumours of Anya/Anyanka's imminent demise.
To re-itterate other posters comments, if she actually knew anything, she would tell. She's not telling, so what does that tell us?
Oh, and for anyone that's seen the "Guest Cast List For Season Finale" post at the Cross&Stake - I'm pretty sure its totally bogus.

Just remember, folks, that this is the time of year when rumors and fake spoilers are at their most intense.
Remember last year, when first we were told there would be a multi-episode courtroom drama with Hank and his girlfriend (played by Melissa Gilbert) fighting Giles and Buffy for custody of Dawn? Remember that we were then told that the season finale would guest-star Seth Green, Marc Blucas, Eliza Dushku and just about everyone else who had ever been on Buffy?
Remember two years ago, when we got this very long and involved synopsis for "Primeval" that even fooled AnGeL X? Remember when we got the synopsis for a season finale that ended with a shot of Oz's grave, complete with his guitar propped up against it?
Once again we've got rumor-wackiness bombarding cyberspace. Believe me, I've heard some whoppers. We're likely to hear more of them.
And remember also that one of the reasons we get so many whoppers at this time of year is because the Buffy people themselves start distributing them. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if there was another attempt to smoke out leaks at Mutant Enemy by creating very real-looking fake story information and then "accidentally" letting it get out. We've seen such things before.
So... when the big news breaks, remember to take a deep breath and be patient. If bad news is coming, we'll deal with it - but wait long enough to make sure the bad news is real.

BUFFYBOT: That'll put marzipan in your pie plate, bingo!
But considering the fact that even she acknowledges it could be nothing more than misinfomation from Joss, it's all still pretty suspect.
It doesn't surprise me a lot that she's not saying it outright, though. Although at this point I'm not sure she even needs to. I think she's waiting to see how much of the season plays out like she believed it would.
Say, for example, she's going by the rumor that Anyanka might eventually go to the Troika and offer them a wish, wouldn't that kind of make her the, uhm, fourth one?
I guess we'll see. It's still entirely possible that she's been spoiling someone's end of the season fanfic.

As for Anya being the one to get the ax: Well, maybe. I don't put much faith in Wanda's claims, anyway, but here's a thought: We know ME has changed their minds about plots in previous seasons. Wasn't Spike originally supposed to die in S2? Maybe they were planning a major character death for this season, but have since decided against it. Think of all the flip-flops they had to perform in S4 due to all the departing castmembers.
[This message has been edited by Junkyard Dog (edited March 08, 2002).]
Okay, I have to stop reading these spoilers because I'm confused now. And a little alarmed.
Who dies? Everyone? No-one? Me?

No metaphors...just fucking.
If you're going to spout crap "spoilers", at least get the names of the characters right.
Trust only in AngelX and Dark Sheep Mysterioso, for they have not led us astray.

I remember Marti giving an interview in where she said this season would be unlike previous seasons. Something to the effect that after you take on a God as the Big Bad you have to find a different direction to go for the drama. I agree that people are so used to seeing an ultimate bad, and the scooby gang banning together to fight against it. Viewers aren't used to or willing to look at the scoobys fighting their inner-most demons as the so-called big bad. As others have said that is too much like real life, and they rather have real demons (or a God like Glory), as the Big Bad. With this in mind, they can't help but keep specualting about who will be the Big Bad, who will die because this is how the show has conditioned viewers throughout the various seasons. Therefore, I really belive the unexpected will happen, and a BSD rumor is just a diversion tactic to keep viewers off-guard to what will really happen at the end of the season.
so, twas occuring to me all this death blah blah blah, and the consistant, comfirmable info, is that in terms of death happening this year, it's gonna be surprising. and in the same vein of "things have to go in a different direction" i've been thinking that the bigness of the "big death" this year, wont neccessarily be who dies, but how. like we've seen people die because of demons. we've seen them die because of gods. and we saw joyce die because of s tumour. none of these things surprising because they all could be seen as very possible from beforehand. ya know? got a brian tumour, maybe itll kill ya. mighting a monster, might eat somebody, or something. but even with last year, and joyce dieing of something nonmystical, and this year katrina being killed, and the leaning toward very real problems being the porblem, and everyone's being so used to demonic forces that when something nonmystical happens they dont suspect it for a long time, i donno, the circumstances of death would strike me a as being a bigger deal, rather than the who. like jonathon almost killed himself once. and he's seem pretty freaking fragile. who knows?
now i'm not sure if that's an inappropriate response.... repimand me if it is. i intend to behave. really, i do.
