Introduction Thread # 4

Hello everyone. My name's Kat and I'm currently living in Anchorage, Alaska. I'm from Virginia originally, but I moved up here after college. Drove 5,000 miles by myself for love, and taught myself to sing along the way. Of course, that relationship didn't last, but my voice and Ella Fitzgerald are getting awfully cozy.

I'm kind of a latecomer to the Buffyverse, having only started watching after 'Once More with Feeling.' A very intriguing beginning, that one. I had no connection to any of these characters beforehand, and in little more than an hour, I was either in love with or horribly worried about each and every character. And there was some overlap.

So I've been getting to know the characters backwards...a couple new episodes here and there, surrounded by UPN repeats during the week and WB repeats on the weekends. But I'm loving the show more and more, and the fanbase is awesome. Thanks to the Keepers of the kitten boards, and to the kittens themselves. You're a blast!

I'm a tiny bit late with this intro post but here is finally is. I hate writing these things so I'll be short but sweet.
On Buffy:
-I'm a long time Buffy fan and big Willow/Tara fan, however I hate the magic/addiction storyline as a whole (although it has had the occasional good moment I suppose)
-I miss Spike evil. I liked him and Dru together back in the old days.
-I miss Giles, oh voice of reason, although like how Tara seems to be taking on this role.
On me:
- I live in Toronto
-my husband and I did our masters degrees in Celtic studies at Oxford ("that's where they make Gileses!")last year
-I'm expecting my first child in three weeks

There's lots more to be said but it'll come out eventually.

So far Downunder we've only seen Bargaining, Pt1, which totally sux. But i've been keeping up to date with the help of transcripts. So I know exactly what my beloved Scoobies have been doing.
I'm an obsessed fan who goes nuts over even a 10-second Buffy commercial.
And i've renamed my male kitty Mr Kitty Fantastico Angelus.

They are both so talented, and it is nice to see two such very different versions of female beauty side by side.

Just watched "The Body" again.

Aly's performance while Willow dithers through her bad wardrobe had me crying, nearly sobbing.

I think we've yet to see the true depth of Amber's talent.

I and my wife mostly lurk here, but I decided to finally take the plunge.

My handle comes from a character in a series of novels written by the late Poul Anderson, my favorite literary science fiction writer and I'm an adjunct professor of medieval and modern European history specializing in women and crime and violence and now working on my dissertation which deals with gaol deliveries in 14th century Lincolnshire. My wife and I are also new parents--a baby girl named Kimura Renee born on Nov. 14, 2001.

My wife and I both enjoy Willow and Tara although Michelle is more a Cordelia/Angel shipper and I admit to being a little more partial to Anya; but we both enjoy how Alyson and Amber have brought to life Willow and Tara and we have great hopes for the future of their relationship.

Hey all kitties... I have been a lurker for about... umm... 3 hours now lol! All of you are just so cool! I thought I would register! Hmm... what to say... er... ok! I absolutly adore Tara and Willow, and love Amber and Aly, they are such talented actresses! The first episode I saw was "Where The Wild Things Are" and I was hooked, I have since seen every episode, and up to "Wrecked" of season 6 (cause they are only just showing it on Sky1 here!). I'm 17, female, gay, tall. I like playing guitar... and I like to dabble in song writing too... I have written a few songs about Tara and Willow.. but nothing especially brilliant! While lurking here, I found some people put in their signatures: "Tara: My heart doesn't stutter", and I was just wondering where the heck that comes from... cause I have searched my brain (the pea that I call a brain anyway) and I can't remember her saying that... I don't know maybe it is from an episode of season 6 I haven't seen yet... but I am just going insane not knowing ya know?? So if anyone knows where this is from please, please, please tell me... and I am going to be so rude now, could you e-mail and tell me.. cause I don't have much time on the internet... As way of introduction, I am Ginnie, 38 years old and am happily married to a wonderful girl (no the US still wont let us marry but that didn;t stop us from doing it anyway). I'm Wayne up in AK (Alaska). Didn't become a Buffy fan until the current season (we don't get the WB up here, but we get UPN, yeah), but now I've seen every Buffy episode except two (Smashed and Wrecked from this season). While I do like Tara and Willow a lot, I'm still more of a Buffy and Xander fan. I ran across this board from the spoilerslayer.com website...didn't know there were so many people into Tara and Willow (seems to be me more people like them than the rest of the crew). I don't care for this season as much as the previous five mostly because the trioka or whatever they're called are just not good villians. My favorite season is season two with season 5 as a close second. My favorite episode is Once More With Feeling from the current season although I think the upcoming episode (Normal Again) may surpass it depending on how it is played out. I don't particularly care for Dawn or Spike. Dawn is just annoying, and Spike makes a better bad guy than whatever it is he is now.

I just got into collecting Buffy CCG. In fact, my first starter deck was built around Willow. I have about 85% of the set. It's a really neat idea.

Of course, I have the first season of Buffy on DVD, and I've been considering buying a region-free DVD player just so I can get the other seasons from Austrailia (they already have up to season four released I think).

Anyway, just introducing myself.

Hello all, sorry that I didn't post here first, couldn't find this thread and feel stupid for breaking the post in the introduction thread first.

I found out about this site from a friend a couple of months ago and mostly have been lurking, reading all of the stories, etc. Really been enoying reading the stories, as there seem to be some talented story writers out there.

I've always been a fan of Willow, when Tara showed up I liked her, but not as much as I like her now. I think Amber has done a great job in taking a TV character and making her seem like a real person.
