General Season 6 Spoilers - Part 6 - The Bermuda Triangle

Postby xita » Sun Feb 10, 2002 10:25 am

AngelX answered the spoiler quote game

Quote 1:
SPIKE: "Um, right, when you're done being a wanker, we *are* trying to help you."

Directed at Richard who freaks out after spending a bit too much time locked in the house with a crazy demon and the freaky Scooby Gang.

Quote 2:
BUFFY: "Man, now I gotta go smelt another axe, do you know how long that takes?"

In a battle with a sword-wielding disappearing demon.

Quote 3:
TARA: "I don't know. He seemed cute. Was he cute? I mean, I'm not a great judge, but I think he seemed cute."

Taking the prime opportunity to tease a jealous Spike about Richard.

Quote 4:
ANYA: I think she's possessed.

In reference to Dawn. Followed promptly by the explanation that Dawn's just a teenager.

Quote 5:
XANDER: We'll come up with a plan, we'll do something, we won't feel so helpless, all right? We'll do something.

An attempt to calm the frazzled nerves of his fiance.

And the BONUS:
ANYA: "That was sarcasm, by the way."

After making a comment that not doing anything is the best way to escape from the house

Oh...Tara...asserting her lesbian status once again. I friggin' love that. It goes down so much better than her actually saying it. I wonder what her facial expression is at the time. Bless her.

And Anya - at least she gets a decent funny line this episode. I wonder if Marti et al have decided what to do with her yet, instead of having her hanging around like a bad smell. I wish they'd use Emma more...

Anyway anyway anyway...I'm all excited!

What's wrong with a redemption story on BtVS? We've never had one. Angel received his soul courtesy of the gypsies, it's not something he actively sought or worked for when he was Angelus. It's true he didn't feed off humans and decided to work for the good side after meeing Buffy, but we never actually saw his struggles to turn his life around. I'd like to see Spike with a story arc apart from Buffy, just as I'm overjoyed Tara is getting her own plotline apart from Willow. Buffy's choice of Tara as a confident makes Tara an integral part of the show in a way she never was before.

And Buffy was on her own for almost a year. And she coped very well without a romantic interest.

I thought Spike was funny in season two, and certainly more complex than Angelus, but he's much more complicated and conflicted now than he was in season 2.

Yes indeed. I'm still waiting for her to actually say the words lesbian or gay, since she's never said it and for a while it seemed as though Willow could say nothing else--but this'll do.

Agreed. But then, Tara's so sure of herself that she doesn't need to keep saying it. That in itself sends a shiver down my spine. Whereas Willow, bless her, was all excited by being gay.

I miss those days.

Sigh.

I was so looking forward to that line actually making it to air, but like I said when I hinted at it before, the wording just screamed, "Censors, stop me!" Figures they would take that line out and leave just about everything else. Pffft.

"Older and Far Away" is a beautiful Anya episode as far as I'm concerned. All of the characters seem to get to shine in one way or another for the ep. Anya and Tara especially, IMO. Both get some great lines and I think it's pretty much inevitable for the characters to be emotionally stunning this time around.

Just had a thought about As You Were, the ep where Riley returns. It's gonna be really hard on Buffy, cause not only will Riley's love life seem so much more together than hers, he's gonna return to Sunnydale just in time to find her working at a fast food joint to make ends meet.

Buffy is essentially where Xander was two years ago, professionally speaking. That's an improvement over where she was, i.e. in denial and thinking Giles would fix everything.

She'll get out of the Doublemeat Palace sooner or later. Possibly by the end of the season.

Oh, I'm sure she will, Bob, and I actually don't have an issue with them going this route. I just kinda feel for Buffy having Riley show back up now, of all times. Ya know, ya do what ya have to do...I've been there. But that doesn't mean you really want the ex showing back up and seeing you just then.

I am not completely opposed to Buffy working at the DMP. She is doing what she has to do, and she has to do SOMETHING. I worked at a fast food restaurant for five years. I hated it, but it paid for college. Now, I have a Bachelor's Degree in English: Language, Writing and Editing. Working in fast food part-time can also help get over rough spots.

I feel proud of her for having that job. Having a job and keeping it and being good at it is something to be proud of. Working at a fast food joint is better than not working at all. I wouldn't count on her not working there by the end of the season.

You think she'll have to burn it down/destroy it (the DMP), like she has every other bridge in her life? The Hemery High Gym (in JW's original), Sunnydale High School, and Glory's Tower all have been metaphors for Buffy moving on in her life.

I put in my vote for: Burn the Double Meat Palace!

JHerc's review is up at AICN, so the Wildfeeds can't be too far away...

Herc's reposts been reposted in the ep 14 spoiler thread.

By the sounds of it, it seems to almost come off as a Tara/ Willow episode!

I know what you mean. It's clear that Buffy's not the happiest little bunny working at the DMP, but I really like her resolve. I loved that little bit at the beginning of Dead Things when she was trying out a new little cheery slogan. She honestly seems to be giving it her all. And you have to admire her for that.

Ok, more from wanda on "chat"

Wanda replies: Sure. And then I will stick my nice, clean head on a nice, clean chopping block. .... Okay, I'll meet you halfway: They'll have one foot in the grave, one big ol' broken heart.
jcd1980 asks: Wanda, I'm tired of your obscure innuendos. Now, give us a nice clean clue as to the death on Buffy.

and she made another cryptc reference to the fourth that I didnt even bother to write down so reeking of lameness it twas..
As far as the spoiler, thats pretty much oozing spike reference...

oh more..

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wanda replies: Hmmm.... that magical interpretation certainly is interesting....
rw_andrew asks: About the Buffy death... by charm, do you mean a reference to magic?? It's not Willow....is it?

General Season 6 Spoilers - Part 6 - The Bermuda Triangle

Postby AutumnT » Mon Feb 11, 2002 8:36 pm

Don't know how much truth to give this, but... someone over at Cross & Stake was talking about how they were at the set today and a small plane flew over with a "Buffy Rocks" banner on it. That person said that Amber commented on it. That's all they said really so I'd think it was genuine as they didn't appear to be try to give out spoilers or anything.

Now for the math. Steve Denight said his next episode (19) was to start shooting on Feb 22nd. Knowing that each episode takes 8 days to shoot in 1st unit that means that today should have been the last day of shooting for episode 17. So, if Amber was on the set on location that's a pretty strong indication that she is in episode 17.

Math off.

Episode 18 should start shooting tomorrow if they are on schedule.

Hi... I thought I read somewhere that Spike was gonna babysitting the eggs for a demon.. I think it was at AngelX.....

If the Doctor is Doc... I really dont thin Spike would help him in anyway... especially as he was the reason Buffy died...

Now, dont get me wrong.. I love Joel Gray, esp since Remo Williams, but Joss help us if he is the one...

All right. I give this as a gift to those who so see it fit as one. I'm not gonna give you all of the stuff I have BUT, I will give you a very good part of it. But there is an EVEN better part/ parts of this ep. Anyway:
ACT ONE
Int. Uc Sunnydale Campus- Day
As students stream out of class, we see WILLOW, books in hand, leaning up against the wall of the building. Kinda focred casual. TARA comes out of class. Willow sees her, brightens, walks to her.
T: Hey
W: Look at you. All coming-out-of-class and everything.
T: (smiling) I do that sometimes. Usually at the end part of the class.
W: Right [ for some reason the script says Warren, I guess they need a reader. Ruth you might want to apply! But Willow does say this line]
They walk together. Slowly. Not rushing anywhere.
T: (pointing awkawardly at Willow's neck) How's your...you know, after the basement deal?
Willow swivels her head, testing her neck.
W: It's between a hitch and a kink. With a side of twinge. It's okay.
T: And Buffy's okay too? Enjoying the refreshing sanity and so forth?
W: (overdoing) Ha! Yes! Refreshing san--that's funny! (compensating soberly) She's okay. A little...freaked. I'm glad she didn't hurt you.
T: You too.
A beat of silence, then:
T (cont'd): So this is becoming kind of a regular thing. You and me after class.
W: Uh, I didn't...
T: only this time you stuck around.
W: Oh, um...various sounds of hesitation [again I believe this should have been in parentheticals]
T: She was just a friend.
Willow's caught a little off guard. But relieved.
W: Friends are nice!
T: You rushed off before I could, you know, explain.
W: Officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.
T: Unofficially?
Willow just grins a big grin. They walk in silence for a moment. Willow, still nervous, takes a deep breath, then:
W: We should get coffee some time. Maybe some day this week after class.
T: I am free tomorrow. [{I know we're all cheering right now.}]
W: You could, you could bring your friend.
Tara's actually a little thrown by this.
T: I wasn't gonna--I mean, if you have a friend-- [uh oh! But alas:]
W: No! I'm, oh, I'm friendless.
T: Yeah, yeah. No friends--I mean, I have friends...[sadly I wasn't her friend ]
W: Many dear friends, yeah, but--
T: Coffee.
W: With us. Who are...just friends.
Eventually later they go to the Expesso Pump and Anya shows up and ruins their Coffee date so to speak. I have more info, but I think this is good enough for now. I'm sure someone else will have the info that I am NOT going to post at this time. Too much of a good thing can kill you!

For I am Dark Sheep Mysterioso. May all lesser sheep bow before me. And on a personal note, you will very much like the way this episode ends
