Faerie Tale

This will be all for today. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks, though.

Faerie Tale

In the books you read to me
there was Once Upon A Time
there were boys and girls with destinies

And when you spun in your red satin nightgown
I imagined we were in Once Upon Time

Then I was the Princess
I pulled the sword from the stone
But where was your prophecy
what did the wretched Faeries sing of your fate
I couldn't hear

Away in the hollow
Wrestling the wolves

And when I came
to bring you my basket
to bring you the rose from the garden of the Beast

when I came the apple
in your cheek was gone
and you awaited the Prince's kiss

Okay, so you used, let me get this right, Little Red Riding Hood; Arthurian legend...there's lots of 'Brothers Grimm' type stuff in here.

You see, I'm just kind of interested what inspires people to conjure up the images that they do.

Thanks for sharing!

The "Red Riding Hood" thing was a pretty obvious reference to Buffy's Halloween costume.
Alot of this stuff just sort of comes to me. If it feels right, I write it down. It's such a cliche, but I feel like a conduit.
Thank you for taking an interest in my work!

For the record, I very much like your poetry Willowmere.

And I also like your nom-de-net.

If it be there, I care not of
That other book Above...
Strike it out! Or write it in anew.
But let it be in the Book of Love!"
