Oh, lord, the beginning of The Royal Tenenbaums gets me every time. You know, after they've introduced the characters and "Hey Jude" comes on...

The very end of Donnie Darko, when "Mad World" plays, gets me too.

I even got all emotional today when I took advantage of my constitutional rights. I joined a vigil against war. Everyone around me was chanting and singing. But I felt like I was saying enough by standing on the corner of one of our major intersections with a "No War" sign. I got all sappy. It is very funny in retrospect, my sappiness.

Watership Down is good for many cries, and it has what is, to me, the best cry in the world there at the end. When Hazel lies down and the Black Rabbit comes for him...I can't even think about it without tearing up.

Oh, I'm right there with you! My dog is named Hazel, as an ode to the amount of tears that book caused us.

Ohh my gf and I will cry at the drop of a hat and not just at sad things. We'll cry at happy things too.... prime example Saturday Night with Ant and Dec this weekend when that bloke won all those big prizes at the end and his 'mate' came up on stage and gave him a big hug ;) Happy crying is good.

Ohh and I cried when Girls Aloud made it to number 1 every week for four weeks.. but that was because it was just sheer bl***y torture.. sorry Tommo ;)

Oh you're forgiven love. :lol

I can understand the pain and torture Girls Aloud can cause. God love 'em. ;)

ETA: Yep. Watched my DVD of Beauty and the Beast this afternoon and pretty much sobbed my way through the entire thing. But that could have been the introduction from Celine. I dunno. ;)

I clearly remember the first movie, about 10 years ago or so, to which i was crying like a river, was my girl. That scene at Thomas J.'s funeral when Vada was crying about his missing glasses and so on really kills me. I'm still the same when i see that movie today.

No matter what, if it is emotional, out ouf happieness or something really sad i'm really not stopable. A few seconds later you can see my eyes go all teary ..i'm just a big baby sometimes i guess.

Someone, friends or strangers who tell me, that they like me, can bring tears to my eyes too. :shy

i have to agree w/jixer. its easy to cry while reading.
i have to say however, the thing that always made me cry was when i was working for a records duplication co. and we would get in child crimes records, or, sniff, coroner's reports. in fact im trying not to cry now, just thinking about some of those kids.:(

OMG Maudmac- I bawled all the way through Joy Luck Club! It usually takes a lot (unless the homone-rollercoaster is open for business), but that movie was a half box of tissue, cry like a baby film.

I also have a tendancy to tear up whenever I run into old friends by chance. I'm not good at keeping in touch and then suddenly there they are and I'm so happy to see them... I've shocked more than one of them when they say Hi and I start to sniffle!

Great topic you bunch of sappy ol' kitties.

A movie that still makes me cry everytime, even though I've watched it more times than I can count is Boys Don't Cry. That movie fills me with such a rage that the only think I've left to do is cry. The book too...
Also, the movie Foxfire with Hedy Burgess and Angelina Jolie. The scene on the roof where she says "If I told you I loved you would you take it the wrong way?" that one gets to me because it's so sweet...then the scene at the end where Legs realizes Maddy isnt going to leave with her and tells her she's in her heart and never looks back..I'm down for the count after that.

The final episode of M*A*S*H had the waterworks flowing, and lord help me, Star Trek: Chekov: "Course heading Captain?" Kirk: "Second star to the right--and straight on 'til morning."

The important thing to remember is that we "sappy" types are also hopless :love romantics :love and you all know what that means :devil heh, :devil heh, :devil heh, ;) :kiss
