[b:b1583f3bd3] Scout[/b:b1583f3bd3], it's a horrible thing to be going through, I hope you're doing okay.

My brother and his family live in Montgomery County and it's hard to hear the news that filters through over here. We're all really on edge and, like you, are just hoping they get this guy fast.

On a lighter note...my god, [b:b1583f3bd3] Zippy[/b:b1583f3bd3], it's Count Duckula now? Man, he is so cool. You and your avatars...you're certainly keeping me entertained :)

Big I T: Loverly advice. Add garlic to the list, and you're all set - never be sick again. Just eat some parsely, or face having few friends...

I'm boogeying down right now, just picked up the new Diana Krall CD (Live in Paris). If you like jazz in any way, I heartily recommend it as a great toe-tapping fatigue-averter.

See, I can stay on topic! :D

Well, today was a blue-ribbon crap day, but 2 bottles of Bass and some time on Pens seems to have done the trick. I feel loads better. Drastic measures for drastic times.

OMG! I [b:ab543c51ee] love[/b:ab543c51ee] [i:ab543c51ee] Count Duckula[/i:ab543c51ee]. How could I not love a vegetarian vampire? A vegetarian vampire [b:ab543c51ee] duck[/b:ab543c51ee], no less!

Today was weird. I found a chimney swift outside work with a badly broken wing. :cry Chimney swifts [i:ab543c51ee] live[/i:ab543c51ee] for flight. They eat, drink, and may even sleep and mate in [i:ab543c51ee] flight[/i:ab543c51ee]. They fly non-stop across the Gulf of Mexico during their migration. They are all about the flying.

So a broken wing is certain death for a chimney swift. They're probably going to have to put her/him down. :cry

I have bird issues. There's a Carolina wren living on my porch. I think the universe is trying to tell me something.

Interesting thread...I dont get sick that often, where is that wood when you need to knock on it :lol ..I do get the occasional cold for which i usually just ride it out, but garlic is good for the stuffy nose..Chicken soup and sleep, if you can..

Dont get the monthly thing anymore, but the menopausal thing sucks..The mood swings, hot flashes and nite sweats are the worst, not to mention the not sleeping...Primrose seems to help with those..

Headaches, theres nuttin like a Goodies..Thats what cures mine..I even take Goodies for my arithiritis and knee pain..Now if i had some vicodin, itd be all better ;)

For a gnarly stomach, due to hangover, flu or whatever, ginger is wonderful..It really does the trick, even better than pepto..

When im down or in a bad mood, there is nothing like a good friend to make ya laugh or smile and forget about why youre in a bad/bummed mood to begin with..Laughter is the best medicine :lol

Thank you, thats so sweet. And yes, the whole thing is so disturbing. The randomness of it is so awful. These poor people didnt even see it coming and then theyre gone in a flash. And now that hes targeting children, its just that much more troubling. I hope your brother and his family stay safe. :)

[b:4ce3c97092] Molly[/b:4ce3c97092]: "Live at the Uptown Lounge" video, their performance of "All Along the Watchtower." I never get tired of watching it Indigo Girls rock! :D

[b:4ce3c97092] Maudmac[/b:4ce3c97092]: Thats so sad. We have barn swallows out back. They zoom up and down like its a raceway. Very entertaining. Also lots of chickadees my favorite cause theyre so friendly. So sorry about the chimney swift. :(

if my pancakes turn out anything but asymmetrical it's a miracle! for bad days in general...driving around with the windows down & exceptionally loud music to sing along with is a requirement (preferrably some chick wailing on the guitar). sick days...come on people! the feel good food is mashed potatoes!! then you throw in the chicken broth, hot chocolate, flannel pj's, and your favorite w/t episodes and you're all set. passing out (sleep wise, not literally) from taking benedryl leads to quite a pleasant nap.

Assuming I'm feeling well enough to eat something, my favorite remedy is comfort food. I'll get take-out from an Italian deli or a barbecue restaurant, including the naughtiest dessert on the menu. The more fat, calories, and carbs, the better. In addition to that, I'll probably pick up some tortilla chips and salsa. Then, I will spend the rest of the day lying on the couch, reading the newspaper, watching movies, and chowing down. Usually one of the cats will join me, and we'll just hang out together. And if my girlfriend is around, I'll whine as much as possible so that she'll spend the entire day taking care of me.

Come to think of it, sometimes I do all that when I'm not even sick.

I totaly get the logic. Most reasonoble thing to do... and I wish I could but my body's so not fun like that. I just [i:f98f5e013d] can't[/i:f98f5e013d] eat when I'm sick. Heck, I can't even look at food. My tummy just gives off that funny little noise that, translated loosly, means: "Try that, and I'm tossing all the cookies you've ever had. On the cat."

Gald I can keep you entertained! :lol

A short while ago I had to practical beg my friend to do a load of screen caps for me as I am incapable of doing it myself, all of them are from TV shows I watched while I was a kid. He ended up doing loads more than I thought he would, about 30.

As he ocassionally lurks here I'm working my way thorough them so he can see his efforts are not in vain.

[i:9be3a1b729] PS Mr Benn thanks again, see it wasn't a passing phase![/i:9be3a1b729]

edited cause it been a long day at work & I can't spell!
