I don't think I saw this ep until after I knew W/T were lesbians ..... I didn't start watching until the beginning of S6 (what an awful time to get hooked, right?) and I got caught up through both reruns and the Buffy binaries group on Usenet, so I saw everything out of order. anyway ...... what a great scene. If anyone doubts that Willow was having an orgasm, take a look at my avatar.

I'm going to go over to my parents' house tonight, and hopefully they'll let me watch the WAY rerun on the big-screen TV. (My mom always complains when I flip the channel to Buffy, cause she hates the show. Dad loves it though.) Anyway, if they're in the room, it'll be interesting to see their reactions.

This has to be one of my absolute favourite scenes, and I admit it, its a good job you can't wear out a DVD! Going back to the first time I saw it, my abiding memory is thinking, 'Blimey someone's turned the heat up in here', and I guess I was also a bit surprised that it had been show before the watershed. I suppose the BBC just didn't get the 'sub' text.

the first time i ever watched buffy i turned it on right before that scene, and that's what got me to want to watch it ever again, later yielding to the hookedness of me. whoohoo!
meanwhile, today is a frabjous day for me because i've been all nixed from onlineness for two weeks and going stir crazy and now i'm back, so yay! for today.

I think my reaction to the Flaming O was pretty much just: "Fuuuuck!"

The whole oil thing just completely got me. The way Willow looks at Tara with such hunger in her eyes. Wonderful.

So I was interviewing this guy today about a multi-billion pound regeneration of an estate in my town. It's a massive deal, because this place has one of the worst crime rates in the UK. It's a huge task.

And I'm sitting there and I'm asking him about involving the community, and what his intentions are to listen to them over the pertinent issues.

This was his response: "Well, it's pretty simple really. What's the point of giving people what I think they [b:755df4fe30] need[/b:755df4fe30]? I have to find out what they [b:755df4fe30] want[/b:755df4fe30], and deliver that to them."

And I grinned at him. There may even have been stifled laughter. Possibly a snort. He just kind of looked at me a little funny, and carried on.

I remember one of my friends (who's always been watching the show) telling me, that "they're making Willow a lesbian" and thinking "Cool!". Guess that could have tipped me off already, but strangely enough I didn't stop to think about why exactly that was such a cool thing at all

Well, it took me a LOONG time to see it; it wasn't till late last fall, when the Space reruns got to S4.

I'd heard it described many a time; I'd read the script for it; I'd read flashbacks and the like in various fic pieces.

But seeing it? Wow, was that hot. :O Blew away my expectations, really.

Then I had to go and keep my expectations up during S6.

Mmmm.. the flaming O. Couldn't be a bigger O. That was an incredible scene, and yes, when the season comes out on dvd in the states, I'll have it. Just to watch my fav w/t moments like that. Oh yea, there's some other stuff I liked in there too.. but with a big O, what else do ya need?

I only really started watching BtVS recently. I watched all of the old seasons on FX, but I already knew that Willow & Tara ended up as a couple. So I was reading sexual subtext into their relationship from the very beginning. The first time I saw the Flaming O, I thought ok now they have *definitely* had sex. If that scene wasn't sexual, I don't know what is. All this talk of it is making me want to dig out my tapes of S4 and watch it. However, it is way past my bedtime. Maybe tomorrow. I'm very jealous of all the UKers who already have S4 on DVD. Damn American syndication deals. I need to make a tape of all my favorite W/T moments so I can find them easily when I need a fix.
