Its Wedding Rings Friday, MKF!!! 8/30

Congratulations!!
My engagement ring was my grandmothers and when i was divorced, my ex said to the judge that he wanted it back. until it was explained where the ring came from. I had to get a noterized letter from my mother explaining that it belonged in my family. My ex also told me that I should save my wedding band and give it to my daughter. Why would I want her to have a jinxed ring?
Tradition in my family is for a mother to give her daughter a Claddagh ring. I have one from my mom, I just bought my daughter hers and she'll get it in June when she turns 13.

our rings are a diamond set just above a platinum band.
For our upcoming 10th anniversary we are getting the companion platinum band with small diamonds inset around it (the style of the rings is called Etoile).
All in all it's a very simple and elegant ring, and I always get lots of compliments on it.

My sweetie and I will be having a committment ceremony around this time next year and when we get around to moving to Vermont we'll engage in the big CU. ;)

My fiance found her ring months ago but I am still looking for mine. I want something simple (a gold band) but twisted into the perfect design. I think my problem is that I am taking an approach similar to the one taken by Supreme Court Justices in reference to pornography - "I'll know it when I see it."

A little bit of information some of you ring seekers might appreciate - most diamonds sold on the market are conflict diamonds. If you want to know what that means, a good place to start is here : www.freerangegraphics.com...ovies.html

Select "Conflict Diamonds." I also suggest having a look at "The Philmo2000," because it's one of my favorites - but that's off topic. ;) These are little flash animations that will only take two minutes of your time. End public service announcement.

As for W/T, I see them exchanging necklaces in the engagement phase and ornate silver rings of some sort during the ceremony.

Congratulations Zahir and Tulipp and best wishes for many happy years in your relationships.

I rarely wear any type of jewelry and I dont think Ive worn a ring since I lost my college class ring. If someone out there would like to present me with an engagement ring though, Im sure I could be persuaded to wear it. For those of you taking notes for future reference, I would probably prefer just a plain gold band. Im not much for stones because they tend to get caught on things and can get chipped or fall out of the setting.

As for Tara and Willow, I would go along with the majority and say they would go for the something classic and most likely Celtic. I wouldnt see them with anything too ornate or ostentatious.
