I think they've got good taste. I can see Belle and Sebastian, Elliott Smith, Cat Power, Mirah, Bjork, Call and Response, The Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack, and Portishead in their CD collection. Tara probably puts on Jeff Buckley or Norah Jones* for the lovin'. Oh and I can just imagine them listening to the Softies and sitting on a bed holding hands in the early days of their relationship, all cutesy and such. Aww.

*I fell in love with her music thanks to Kieli and her fic!

Totally biased, but I think they'd listen to my darling [b:6a690d1878]Indigo Girls[/b:6a690d1878] who I get to see in 9 days time!! [img:6a690d1878]http://homepage.eircom.net/~mollyig/stretch.gif[/img:6a690d1878]

Going to a concert tonight to see this Austrian woman who now lives in Co Cork. Her name is Pina, and I saw her when she supported IG in February. Any Brit Kitties who went to see IG this year may know her. I know she definitely supported them in Manchester as a friend of mine saw her there. Just bought her album this week, and I like it.

Good question!
Yeah, I can see them listening to the Indigo Girls, Dar Williams, all that good stuff.
As for "bedroom music", I've always been partial to Mazzy Star.

Oh, Mollyig, would you believe that a few weeks ago, the Indigo girls played FOR FREE here in Pittsburgh? Opening night of the annual arts festival. It was wonderful.

Anyway, I may be biased, but I think that W and T would listen to all the stuff that Rally uses to make videos: Our Lady Peace, Jimmy Eats World, Michelle Branch of course, K's Choice.

Tara might go for some Holly Near and Joni Mitchell, but I think Willow wouldn't really have the patience for that...

And I would add Everything But the Girl to their list. Mellow but intense.

Jeez luiz i need to listen to the radio more and must be showing my age cause i sure the heck dont know half the groups people just mentioned :lol

On a different note, im imagining the scene in Gone in Sixty Seconds when Nicholas Cage puts on "Low Rider" to get his gang all reved up before they go nab some cars.... im seeing Buffy and the scoobies in her house before they go out patroling, she puts a cd on her stereo and "Hells Bells" by AC/DC starts playing :lol

i'mathinkin tara would be likin folkey appalachian mandolin havin type stuff. donno why i think that. my own version of stereotypeish....anyway, i'm thinkin will would be enjoying sort of the rock-ish version of rock that's out now. the kind that isnt really all so drivel-ish. or i betcha she's one of those who has like 2 favourites, and other than that doesnt pay attention to music much, and thusly calls herself an "i'll listen to anything" person, even tho, its not neccessarily true, but hey, when's the opporunity to find out gonna come up? never cuz there's always something yummy to play with on a computer, or a world to assist saving, or, um, yeah, that gorgeous tara who's sooooo much more interesting than anything else you could possibly come up with that might merit any attention at all......

ooh. semi tangenty.

peace.

Morning kitties! Ahhhh.... Tuesday. At least it's not Monday! *laugh* Here's hoping that we have a good day today!

I think Tara would listen to Celtic and classical while Willow is a closet Broadway musical junkie. *grin*

Have a great day, all! Hugs! :)

edited because I can't spell this early in the morning.... or ever, but still......

Both Willow and Tara are huge (and I do mean HUGE) Marilyn Manson fans. I'm sure of it.

Somehow I don't see W+T as the marlyin manson type. I think they listen to Loreena Mckennit, because of her pagan background music. as well as Sarah, of course Indigo Girls [ Still can't believe I met them ] I think Tara is a huge Jewel fan, cause of the poetry aspect. And Willow likes a little Bush or Creed on the side.

I would have to say [b:add8b55b38] Sarah McLachlan[/b:add8b55b38], [b:add8b55b38] Tori Amos[/b:add8b55b38], [b:add8b55b38] Loreena McKennitt[/b:add8b55b38], perhaps even [b:add8b55b38] Kate Bush[/b:add8b55b38]. Also during lovey moments, what could be better than the rhythmic electronic grooves and orgasmic, ethereal sounds of [b:add8b55b38] Delerium[/b:add8b55b38] :grin (which features many amazing ethereal female vocalists, including Sarah McLachlan) and also [b:add8b55b38] Enigma[/b:add8b55b38]?
Another possibility is [b:add8b55b38] Dead Can Dance[/b:add8b55b38] or their vocalist [b:add8b55b38] Lisa Gerrard[/b:add8b55b38] - she has some seriously haunting, ethereal, and magical music. Very rythmic, ethnic, and mysterious. And little goth too.

They also all happen to be my fave artists of course :)

hugs,

Sarah.

Zahir: It gave me the giggles too. I'm just slow on the replies. :)

And I think Tara likes Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. She strikes me as a girl who likes folk music. Definitely celtic music, too. And Willow.. she probably has pretty varied tastes. I can see her being into classical music, though. I'm sure they both like (hmm.. who hasn't been mentioned yet) Natalie Merchant, Beth Orton, Cowboy Junkies.. Actually, come to think of it, Willow seems like a Magnetic Fields fan to me. Or at least she should be.

Do either of them play an instrument? You would think that at least one of them would be a great pianist.. :grin

The amazing thing is, even though they're both in their early 20s, they have the musical tastes of a 40 yr. old! ;)

In a jazzy mode, they dig Phoebe Snow, Rikki Lee Jones, and Joni Mitchell (in her jazzier phase). Sarah Vaughn.

'retha, it goes w/o saying. Doesn't nobody not love Aretha. :) And Patti LaBelle. And Tina.

I can't believe no one's said Chrissie Hynde! And Bonnie and Janice. (Note how most of my choices are recognizable by their first names alone!)

Sweet Honey in the Rock. Linda, Emmy Lou and Dolly. :) My girl, Claudia Schmidt. June Tabor. Debbie Harry. Ferron. Miriam Makeba. Madonna (yeah, sometimes!).

GG [i:d31a3b59b8] Heck, they might occasionally listen to men![/i:d31a3b59b8] ;) Out
