Well, I was just listening to the recording of Giles' song and I think I might have figured it out. The second chord *is* an F#dim but it is not all of it. I found (2O1212). Since the D string is not used, you can think of the chord as a D7 with an F# in the base, leaving the A string open. How's that? I think it works best this way if you make sure to only play the top three strings but it's still a nasty transition. I think that'll do it. What do you think?
