It's time for vacation Friday, MKF

Postby kukalaka » Thu Aug 08, 2002 1:05 pm

Ha, I'll just jump at my chance to get a daily thread now (it's 0:54 am here).

I'm going to have my last exam today (which means I really shouldn't be here now), then it's finally time to relax. My next lecture is only going to be on October 14th :rollin

I'm going to Croatia for about two weeks and will maybe go to London for a few days to visit a friend. And I'll be in Berlin doing all the stuff you need to do when moving :)

So, if money wasn't an issue, where would Willow and Tara want to go for vacation? What about you?

Off to bed now :yawn and why the ... is this little fellow :happy called happy? :hmm

Wow, kukalaka, you'll be traveling all over the place! Have fun on vacation!

I think Willow and Tara (especially Tara) would want to go someplace nature-y, with beautiful scenery and lots of outdoor activities. I can definitely see them in Wales, wandering among the hills and visiting all the little towns. Or the Swiss Alps - lovely place to get lost in for a week or two. Or even Alaska (odd as that may sound). The southern coast of AK is just absolutely breathtaking.

Yeah, I've done a lot of traveling, why do you ask? :lol

Weird vacation story: my family and I spent the week before last in New Orleans, and happened to visit the Aquarium of the Americas while we were there. Turned on the news today and there was a story about these 10 people falling into one of the shark tanks. The tank is below the "floor" of the aquarium, which is clear glass, so you can walk around and see the sharks swimming right beneath your feet. A portion of the glass just gave way, and plop! I remember standing on that EXACT spot when I was there. (cue [i:ce0b4f8277] Twilight Zone[/i:ce0b4f8277] music)

You know, it's really sad when my funny vacation story isn't even about me. heh. But at least my mom now knows that rainbow flag = gay, thanks to a walk down Bourbon Street. And she didn't make any derogatory comments, so yay Mom.

Hey kukalaka,

I wish you all the best for your exam, fingers crsossed und Daumen gedrckt, hehehe. :grin
And I hope youll enjoy your holidays and everything will be fine when youll be moving.
Well, where would Willow & Tara go on holiday? I think they would probably like to visit some very spiritual places like Tibet for example.
Hhmmm...and as for myself...there are a lot of places that Id like to see; I really love travelling. I think I would like to go to the US one day but I guess I wouldnt know where to start as it is so big and there are many interesting places.

I kind of feel like I'm cheating by replying to two daily threads in one day, but oh well.

kukalaka: Good luck on your exam! I'm sure you'll be great. Just don't confuse your xi's and chi's. :confused And I'm not jealous about you getting to do all that travelling on your vacation. No, really.

I'll bet Willow and Tara would go to the UK and wander all around the countryside together. I second the idea that they'd like nature. Maybe they'd go to New Zealand. I've never been there, but the pictures I've seen look really pretty. Come to think of it, I'd like to go to the UK and New Zealand too. Well, and Europe and Africa, and.. um, you get the picture.

If I may weigh in with my guess, I'd say it's because he leaked a HUGE midseason spoiler during a news conference. (Not going to write it here for those who may not want to know. If you've heard it already, you know what I'm talking about.) ME has been known to give away small tidbits for near-future episodes, but telling the public about a [i:e8f6002b72] gigantic[/i:e8f6002b72] midseason twist, when the season hasn't even started yet? Big no-no. You would think they would have told him about their policy.

When I heard about the spoiler, my internal alarm went off. It's either totally false (misdirection), or Simkins is in big-ass trouble.

Well, honestly what is worse press one spoiler leaked and a an exec scolded in private or a big firing. This doesn't look good. They can't keep an exec. I think the show has some huge internal problems.

You know I was wondering about that spoiler. It seemed like an awful big deal to be blurting out before the season even started. I would not be surprised if that was it. Or at least part of it.

And in humorous news, I just took a trip over to forum for fans where I found out I was being credited with all sorts of BS spoilers that I never said and called a B/A shipper. LOL. me. A Buffy/Angel shipper. Dear God.

Ya know, every single thing I hear lately makes me feel like this time next year, there won't be a single ME show on the air.

Buffy's most likely ending, Angel's been in trouble for a while now (and this doesn't sound like it's getting better), Firefly barely made it into the fall season and has had some fairly bad press, Ripper and the Buffy cartoon appear to be on indefinite hold. So, so sad really... ;)

kukalaka, fingers crossed for your exams... and [i:082eb78859] bonne merde[/i:082eb78859] as we say here;)

For willow and tara, i agree that they would like to go in some natural surrounding, or some sacred place...

As for me, i'd love to go in the US. California would me my first choice, but i like to see more than that.
But this summer, seems like i won't get to travel. Well, maybe after semptember, when i'm finished with my thesis. But right now, i'm stuck at home.

Funny to be posting in a time for vacation thread, when I'm just coming back from vacation. I leave tonight! At 5:30am! Ok, that wasn't happy.

Anyway, have fun, Kukalaka.

I seem to remember another daily thread about where W/T would go on vacation. Is that correct? My mind sometimes makes things up and fools me.

Hi Kittens!

I also think that Willow and Tara would want to go somewhere nature-y and beautiful like...Hawaii maybe. Or the Pacific Northwest. I could also see them backpacking in Europe together.

I'd like to go to many places, but right now probably Greece. It just seems so beautiful and warm.

Yes, the Evil Lesbian Mafia plan is proceeding well. We were especially successful in getting Ralph Nader elected president, silencing the religious right for good, and making it illegal not to be a W/T shipper. ;)

They'd definitely visit Ireland. Biased? Me? [img:c9d6139ab5]http://homepage.eircom.net/~mollyig/winkgreen.gif[/img:c9d6139ab5]

As for me, I've been saying for years that I'm going to visit Atlanta and do the Indigo Girls pilgrimmage. I'm hoping to actually do it next year, but I'm really bad about arranging holidays and the like - I'm such a homebird. One of my friends is in Indonesia at the moment, and while I'd love to see more of the world, I just like the comfort of familiar surroundings too.

What? We don't get any credit for killing [i:f61d67d75f] Ripper[/i:f61d67d75f]? That was so much fun. And kudos to whichever one of us made certain the first [i:f61d67d75f] Firefly[/i:f61d67d75f] pilot sucked ass. That was smooth.

Gosh, I sure hope no one finds out about our evil schemes.

In other news:

Did someone say vacation? I think I've had about one REAL vacation in all my adult life. And it didn't turn out to be as vacationy as I'd hoped it would. I read a lot of books on that trip, lemme tellya. Which I could have done at home, for free. Did get a sunburn, though. That was nice.

I really would like to have a real, only-do-what-I-want-the-whole-time vacation some day. First up, roller coaster tour of America. Second up, tornado chasing. Third up, rally school. Fourth up, swim with dolphins. I got to touch a dolphin once. Everything they say about it is true, it's like a spiritual experience, very moving. You feel this connection. I can't explain it.

Hope everyone's having a happy Friday. I think today will be a good day.

Having your own thread sure is fun :grin

Sorry if there already was a vacation thread, I've only started reading the daily threads recently :blush so I probably should have checked. But I just felt so vacationy!

Thanks for all the good wishes, I'm pretty sure I passed, but it's not going to be great. If I don't like it I just won't see to have it recognized in Berlin :grin

As for travelling, I think you're right with them loving nature. I love travelling and I really have to thank my parents for showing me quite a bit of the world. Well, Europe mostly, but a lot of it :)

I've got a really long list of places I want to see. I think I should have posted that list in the "through it all" thread since I keep thinking of it when asking myself why exactly I have to learn <input latest strange thing someone decided I absolutely needed to know>.

None of them, but lots of very confusing Sigmas and Gammas (It's so encouraging to have gallows all over you exam :\ )

I think that Willow and Tara would go to some place that was peaceful, beutiful and very nature friendly, maybe Rottnest Island, in Western Australia. There are no cars, only bikes, friendly people, beautiful scenery, and the beach.
I would definetly go to Paris, France, to visit my family and little cousins. Plus France is a beautiful country. Or so i've heard.....

Its nice to know that the kitten agenda for world domination is proceeding smoothly. Many thanks to all the guerilla kittens working behind the scenes to help accomplish this objective.

As far as vacations are concerned, W/T could always go to England to visit Giles (and Ruth). If they want to stick closer to Sunnydale, I could see them in a natural setting like Yosemite, or at Redwood National Park.

Ive been to 47 states, Iceland, the European Continent, North Africa, Hawaii and Guam (join the Navy and see the world). One place I havent been that I would like to see is Australia. I would also love to visit Antarctica I tried to volunteer for Operation Deep Freeze in the military, but at that time they werent accepting women candidates. I guess they wanted to make sure the men werent faced with any sort of temptation.

W/T vacation plans would either involve something to do with nature or maybe England.

If i could afford it (and ever got around to getting certified) i would go to Hawaii and do some scuba diving or go to Alaska.

Mmmm, I could need some vacation. Leave the city and the rainy wheather here. But, no money, damn. I'm lucky when I manage to leave Berlin for a while this year to drive to the coast or something.

I've seen quite some other countries. Have been in Asia a lot and have seen some cool places in Europe.. was in the USA.

Travelling is really fun and educating. I could do nothing else all year long. If I'm lucky I'll get myself a job where I can just do that for quite some time. I know, working is not vacationing but it's a huge dream of mine.

Happy friday Kittens.. :)

Gotta put my vote in for a nice vacation in Hawaii. Several weeks on the black sand beaches, Tara teaching Willow to horseback ride in the Waipio Vally. Man, I can't wait till I'm there for my three weeks in December.
