It's Auction Wednesday MKF

Postby La » Wed Aug 21, 2002 6:53 pm

Yay! Me and all my stuff made it to my new apartment in Boston. I am now no longer a Korean kitty, nor am I a Chicago kitty, I have turned into a Boston kitty!!! I do not have a unicycle in my apartment, but my brother has one. He juggles a lot. I taught him (cuz I juggle too) and then he got a lot better than me. He can make tons of money juggling at birthday parties and has a very small following at Ithaca college where he somehow got the dance show they put on every semester to let him juggle there. :spin

As for Ebay, never bought nor sold anything there. I went to a car auction with my dad once and tried to get him to bid on all kinds of fun old cars, but he didn't listen to the at-the-time 9-year old me. :grin

La, I've been meaning to reply to your signature for a while, but well, I didn't.

I just wanted to ask if it was Korea that trained you to sit on the floor, or if you just were used to not being teased about it, there.

I'm asking because I always sit on the floor, and my friends make fun of me.

Elianna,

In Korea, it's definitely accepted to sit on the floor a lot. In fact, I ate the majority of my meals sitting on the floor. Restaurants are usually of the sit-on-the-floor variety, and many homes do not have a table and chairs to sit at (no western-style dining room). I'm definitely more comfortable with sitting and squatting than I was before I was in Korea, so I think being there sort of got me used to those things, among other things. For example, I just went to the supermarket to stock up my kitchen, and definitely had to buy a jar of kimchi (spicy pickled cabbage) :D . Wouldn't have done that before Korea!

Sitting on the floor is great! I do it all the time now. I don't have a couch yet in my apartment, so for sure I'll be sitting on the floor in front of the TV until I can get myself one of those!

Will the Ruth auction accept American money, and will the purchaser have to pay for shipping and umhandling?

Please, I'd never charge anyone for handling. I mean, that's my pleasure, really. ;)

The shipping might pose a problem, because I don't much care for airline food, and hey, it's eight hours from here to yours, Elaine. Sigh.

But if you've got the cash, then I've got the...um, slash? No, that's sounding so very wrong. I'm sorry.

Yes, I do know it's Thursday already, Tori Amos Birthday nonetheless, but I couldn't resist....

Elianna, juggling patterns can be very frustrating and mindboggling and it's totally overappreciated! There are two kind of people: those who can do patterns and tricks, and those who can juggle an egg, a little frying pan and a torch. You can imagine how this trick ends. I think it's fun to juggle with odd objects, like toilet brushes, they spin very good! But you'd have to learn clubs and I tell you it's totally worth it.

Or you try a different instrument altogether, Devil Stick is my favorite, or Poi, Staff, Flagstick, Diabolo, your choice, it's all there! And everything works with fire brilliantly...

What? Me? An arsonist?....

I'll see your bid, Friskylez, and raise it $10. I'm still not sure about the whole shipping thing, although the free handling is a nice bonus.

Oh, Ill take all the free handling I can get, whenever I can get it! Maybe we could just split the shipping and share our little auction prize. I believe its its an original, genuine Ruth were bidding on, at least thats what I thought. Maybe we need to check with Julia to make sure. I wouldnt want to wind up getting a unicycle or something by mistake. :grin

No, it's a real me. I mean, compared to a unicycle, [b:d15ee3dbc6] my[/b:d15ee3dbc6] saddle happens to be a darn sight more comfortable.

Ahem.

One should never discount the significance of a comfortable saddle. Thats a very important consideration and will probably hike up the asking price. I may even have to drop out of the bidding altogether. Sigh.

Isn't it customary to post a picture of what is being bid upon? I think a nice tasteful photo of Ruth and her saddle may be just the thing to, um, goose the bidding.

A tasteless photo . . . well, my, that may just set off a bidding war the likes of which have never been seen on the kitten board . . .

just had to reply to say that my brother does that (the egg, frying pan and torch). He also juggles knives with a piece of gum (usually bubble yum) on the end of one and eats it at the end. He's amazing with the diabolo (though not so great with devil sticks) and also, as he puts it, likes to balance things on his face. He's a nut. Gotta love crazy younger brothers.

and now back to your regularly scheduled bidding on Ruth

Grimalkin,

But see, I'm very clumsy. And after dropping a club on my head twice, I'm pretty sure that I can't learn it.

I like the idea that, in between posting about my breasts, two kittens are talking about juggling. Cuz I thought the two kind of go together, actually. ;)

And this is such an old thread, I really should let it drop. But I've seen $15 so far and that, my dears, just isn't enough to persuade me to send in a photo of my boobs. Despite the open mouthed smilie. ;)

Name your price baby, I've got $$$ to burn and I'm feeling lucky! ;) If necessary, I will obtain third-party financing -- a sort of purchase money breast mortgage.

Hey, if Lloyds of London will insure a stripper's breasts, I'm sure I can get some institution to finance my acquisition of a photo of an international treasure such as Ruth's tits. :grin

Only twice? My, if I had stopped at that rate. Well it doesn't show... Anyway, if you hit yourself hard enough you' ll learn it quicker. But don't try it with burning torches, eyebrows and lashes don't grow too quick.:whistle
Hey if I could learn it, everybody can! I may be able to ride a unicycle but I can't walk straight. Sometimes I can't even think straight...

I know I'm being so bad posting in Wednesday's daily thread, but I can't help it.

[b:b3ed07d3b3] Grimalkin[/b:b3ed07d3b3], hitting my head twice is about my limit for any new activity. This is why I never learned how to dive (into a pool).

[b:b3ed07d3b3] Ruth[/b:b3ed07d3b3], I seem to remember another conversation was had about your juggling your breasts. I think that the bidding would go very high on pictures or movies of that phenomenon. (if I managed to spell that word correctly. My spelling is horrible.)

Look, if I didn't think it was grossly egotistical and really unpleasant, I [b:cc19ecf064] would[/b:cc19ecf064] put myself up for auction. To help the cause. Naturally. :) Anyhoo, in the interests of drumming up some money for the charity, here's that photo I promised. Please bear in mind that I don't usually carry a purse, I mean, lesbian here! Oh, and that outfit will also be auctioned off for charity. Y'know, if anyone needs a tent or a marquee or something. :)

If the winning bidder offers enough money, they can have me with or without clothing, for an undisclosed amount of time. And I will be, as they say, the trophy. Heh. ;)

Okay, does this make me a whore or does it just make me a whore? Sigh. The things I'll do to get a date these days...
