Question! Is this something you've picked up from interviews somewhere? I wouldn't have thought Amber wasn't "terribly committed" to acting. She seems pretty passionate about it to me. I don't know enough about Emma to say.
I'm a curious kitten.

And trying to stay positive about seeing Amber's name in the opening credits.

Well, Amber certianly isn't *solely* commited to acting; one reason she's been on-again-off-again on Buffy is that she's written and produced her own movie, Chance. She's also been writing comics, etc.

No, I didn't hear it in an interview. As I said, I've got some contact with Joss & Co. (I'm not pretending to be a close friend or anything but I've met him and a bunch of the cast and hung out a few times... not many, it's not such a big deal and yes, Ally is the most gorgeous creature on the planet... really truly... I have a complete crush on her... but I haven't met Amber... I do NOT like Nicholas Brendon... not at ALL... he is a jerk and I would definitely be PISSED if he would reappear in Willow's life or anything). So I asked why Amber wasn't a bigger cast member this season since I liked the chemistry between the two and got the response that she was doing other things, including spending time with her mom. Ok, that sounds bizarre, but whatever.

If Amber is indded in "Grave", it would be quite a surprise appearance.

Angel has had surprise appearances for the last 2 weeks (Connor last week, Holtz this week); both times, the guest star in question had their credit as the first one in the end credits.

This could easily be the path they take with Amber. Just a thought.

<< I said a lot of things on the Succubus Club. And yes, I joked a lot, because thats who I am I use humor when things get tense. Perhaps I should have toned it down, but thats just who I am. Im sorry if I hurt anyones feelings or if they thought I was being disrespectful to their pain. But a lot of people are ignoring the most important thing I said: We treated Tara like a real character. And yes, we killed her because it advanced the story arc of one of the main characters. But to say that Tara cant be killed because shes a lesbian, or because shes good, or a wicca, or a woman is totally unacceptable to me. Shes a character, and thats not to diminish anyones emotional attachment to her. We try very hard to make the viewers attached to ALL our characters. Thats part of what we do. As for those who are happy that the lesbian got what she deserved these are the people I hold contempt, loathing, and disgust for. Thats just plain ignorance and hate, and I openly call for them to stop watching the show and any show I ever work for. We killed a character for story reasons not because of her sexual orientation. I truly find that suggestion offensive, and anyone that thinks that should be ashamed. We presented Tara as a person, in a relationship that was filled with ups and downs. Not a gay relationship, not a straight relationship just a normal relationship in an abnormal world. It was beautiful, it was as real as we could make it, and Im very proud of it. And yes, things ended badly for Tara but not because she was a lesbian. In the Buffyverse, happiness is almost always the harbinger of doom. And she was happy. And she will be missed.

1- Just to advance story? They could have done it some other way, and if they loved her sooo much (as they seem to say) she would not be "Gone, for real this time"..they'd find a way to bring her back.

2- Why does everything have to end unhappily ever after? Of course I can take sad things, but I mean does EVERYTHING have to be bad? Or these writers depressed or something?

....of "Villains" so does this mean she will get one more credited ep? She has been in 16 eps to include "Villains" (which she was contracted to do) but has only been credited for 15 of them. So where is the missing credit? Will she actually APPEAR in the lost ep?

Since they are re-editing "Two to go" (ep21) and "Grave" (ep22) into one 2 hour special instead of 2 seperate eps. We should see her in the credits SOMEWHERE, anywhere in the Finale special right?

I assume you are counting "Bargaining 2" as one of the tally. I myself was not counting that one.

But you are right "Villains" would have been the 17th ep she appeared in. Guess now I know why she wasn't credited.

I've been lobbying for ages, in my own shouting-at-the-screen sort of way, for Amber Benson to get a place in the title sequence of 'Buffy' (Tara has been as much a regular for the last couple of years as Oz or Riley were.) I therefore took it as a peculiar form of insult that she finally got her place just in time to get shot through the heart, with those achingly inconsequential last words - 'Your shirt'.
Willow's rampage in 'Villains' went some way to making the death worthwhile, though, as we finally get to see what the girl can do when she really lets go: powerful.
