We are almost ready to get our first [b:6fc4a40a46] Kitten Charity Auction[/b:6fc4a40a46] underway. Here is what you can do to start getting ready now.

[b:6fc4a40a46] First things first.[/b:6fc4a40a46] This is going to be an Ebay auction, obviously, so we need to know if anyone who wants to participate does [b:6fc4a40a46] Not[/b:6fc4a40a46] have an Ebay account. I am looking into the possiblity of creating a Kitten Charity Account, but there is no need if everyone has their own.
Please email me web.warlock@attbi.com if you have any questions.

- Gather up your for sale items and start typing in some basic information about them, this helps since you can just cut and paste into Ebay later. Be careful to describe them accurately. You will want to include condition, if it is a magazine then what issue, anything special about it, and so on.
I typically do this in Excel so I can also track how each item is doing. But we have established that I am a geek, so no surprises.

- Figure out a starting price. Now there is an art to this, generally you want to begin low. Items with low starting prices gain the most attention from the shopper. If you want to use Ebay's "buy it now feature" the put in a final price. If you have no idea on a price then run over to Ebay and see what similar items are going for.

- Get a digital picture/scan of your items. People like to see what they are buying.

Again you can address any questions to me.

So start getting your stuff together. This will be a hit the ground running thing.

If so, I can give you a list of things I could offer, you could auction them, I could sign them to whoever won and mail them all to you to distribute.
