Since no one has posted a day yet I'm bringing up a topic near and dear to my heart. I've had crazy cats, lazy cats and snuggle cats.
My first cat was when I was three. He was a stray who thought being picked up by a three year old was cool. My dad ran him over and cried worse than I did. We got a boxer after that, and she too thought all children were wonderful, my mom was perfection and my dad was tolerable. But she hated cats.
We gave a home to several foster strays over the next few years. We ended up keeping a white and tortie mix with the temper of wolverine when she had kittens. 'El Gato' (I know, gender confusion) was ours until we moved and someone wanted her very much.
My last cat, and only cat of my own, was Ilsa, named so because she adopted me at eight weeks when I brought home my first VCR and rented my first movie, Casablanca. She ran between my legs while I was trying to get in the apartment with the VCR. It was my first own apartment and she made it a much better place.
When I left my mom took Ilsa as no apartments in my new city would take a cat without an arm and a leg. Shortly after that my grandmother came to stay with my mom. As her health failed Ilsa became grandma's cat, refusing to leave her unless my mom crated her. When grandmother left for the last time Ilsa kind of gave up. My sisters and my mom tried but she died about a year later. The vet said her liver was infected, my mother insists it was a broken heart.
I'm saying Ilsa was my Best Kitty Ever Besides MKF.
In the spirit of fairness any good dogs will also be given honorary cat status for this thread
Oh, all right, it's because I'm a sucker for dogs too.
Thank you for your time,

when he sees cats.
and we have two dogs. One of the cats is actually mine and we got him last year... he does have a real name but we call him "Flippy Cat" because at random times throughout the day he flips out and starts sprinting around the entire house! Up and down the steps, over and under the bed.. he goes crazy!! But the best Kitty ever would have to be the cat we had before Flippy.. her name was Chase and she loved to come and sit with me. She loved people and only when she was very sick did she hide from anyone. It was sad when she died but since she was sick a lot during her life we were happy to have her as long as we did.

. Although, when she realizes I'm not coming right back she looks so sad, it truly breaks my heart. I also call her my "kitty scarf" because when I sleep she wraps around me like a scarf, which is great in the winter time (not so great in the hot summer). Really they both have their own quirks that make them unique, and utterly adorable (how I love my
).
