It's 'How do you Choose yours' Weekend MKF 11/01/03

Well this is my first ever daily thread. Ive been meaning to post a thread on this topic for a while but Ive never got round to it.

So last week I spent most of my time driving around England and as I had nothing better to do (other than listen to Kylie & Girls Aloud) I got to thinking about making a new avatar and what my theme for it should be. Eventually I decided upon Girls Aloud, but I do have several other ideas for future avatars.

So on to the topic, sig lines and avatars. There are some really amazing and little avatars on this board along with some which should be described as quirky rather than insane. I adore all of the slow motion kissing avatars, which are floating around the board.

Sig lines too, I am still miffed that tommo got to a computer before I did after French & Saunders finished because I had wanted to use the same bloody quote. Sam7777s I see dead lesbian clich, brings a smile to my face ever time I read it, along with Jimmi Magnuss I feel as if a kitten sat on my face all night.

So how do you choose what to put in your sig lines? Are they quotes you find funny, beautiful, inspiring or do they have some other special personal meaning? Avatars how do you decide which adorable picture of Willow or Tara to use? If you dont have an avatar or sig line what sort of thing would you choose?

Speaking of and what avatar & sig lines do you think they would use for the multitude of message boards Willow would have no doubt signed them up for?

I think Tara's avatar would be a pic of MKF with the sig line "I said Quirky"

I chose my avatar picture simply because it is one of my favorite pictures of Willow and Tara. I think the animated avatars are cool, but unfortunately don't have a clue as to how to make one.

As far as sig lines go. I do mine a little different then most. I change it all the time and try to use quotes that go along with the topic or story at hand. Sometimes however I do fall back on a favorite quotes, like the one below.

Wow, Zippy. I just spent five whole minutes staring at your avatar, waiting to see my lovely Sarah-ho come round, again and again and again... She's a trollop, but she's my trollop.

Sorry about the F and S quotage, but how can you resist with lines like that? I actually watched it again this morning and laughed my socks off. Which was odd, because I wasn't actually wearing any. Ahem.

So, I'm willing to trade my sig line for a Sarah avatar. Will that do you?

As for sigs themselves; I'm usually torn between wanting something really profound, as some people have some great stuff for their sigs; and wanting something funny and entirely too odd. Generally, as you know, I go for the latter rather than the former, heh. My favourite ever sig was "Squish. Squish. Squish." Loved that one. So meaningless and yet, so very funny.

Willow and Tara...hmm...not sure what they'd choose. I'd hate to go for the obvious so I'll just sit back and wait to see what everyone else posts first and then agree with the most popular and intelligent person. Y'know, like I usually do.

And can you believe that Girls Aloud are still number one? I mean, I liked the song but I didn't like it that much... I guess it just goes to show that the record-buying British public really don't have much in the way of taste. And on that note, Tatu are on CD:UK next Saturday. Should be interesting. Especially if they plan on recreating certain aspects of their video in the studio. In front of all those impressionable kids and the even more impressionable Cat Deeley. British tv. Gotta love it. Or y'know...not.

If you really want an avatar of Sarah the slapper, you can have one made of the piccies that were rejected for mine & to show there is no hard feelings for the F&S quote I can even host it for you. Just mail me and all will be arranged.

Well I choose My Avater for obvious reasons, Amber and Wine hehe
I have to say aswell some of the avater's on the boards are fantastic, some of my favourites are tkheavens(I think) version of Grrrr, and one that has lots of pic's of Ambers eyes and says the eyes have it, also one that has a pic of Willow in the flaming O scene and Tara levitating from OMWF and Say You make me complete. They are great-sorry I couldn't remember who's they are

God, I love that avatar. Had it for forever. Not really sure what gave me the inspiration, other than wanting to see Willow and Tara's "O"-faces over and over again ..... heh. I wanted to switch to a picture of my cat for a while, 'cause she died on Thursday and I miss her. Anyway, eventually I'm gonna make one that says "just to see you smile" with various W/T smiles.

The "complete" avatar is now up for grabs, if anyone else wants it; I'm not gonna use it anymore. You have to put it on your own server though.

Sigs .... usually I go back and forth between something deep and meaningful, and something totally silly. Or else a favorite W/T quote, of course! Before this, I had a really long quote from Angel that was all about being a champion and making the world a better place and blah blah blah lots of inspirational shit. So when I got tired of that, naturally I went to the opposite extreme -- zany one-word Monty Python fun.

This is an interesting topic. It'll be fun to see what everyone else's responses are.

oh, p.s. a completely and utterly shameless plug ..... you know Jennpurr's avatar of the kiss from "The Body" in slow motion? I made that. <big huge proud grin>

while i was in korea, my sigs were usually "you know you've been in korea to long when ..." statements, but since then i've had random buddhist quotes, stuff from professors, whatever i hear/read that i like. like my current sig which i really really liked for some reason. just seeing leelee sobieski all dressed up as joan on a horse yelling this at some random british lord made me laugh.

as for avatars, i made this one while i was in korea. i like she-ra, and i guess i thought it would be fun to stick in old pictures where i'm sticking my tongue out at the camera too. i like sticking out my tongue maybe one day i'll make a new one, for now this one suits me just fine.

i think tara would be one for really poignant, meaningful quotes in her sig, and willow would pick quirky, funny ones. or maybe tara would be the one with quirky, funny quotes and willow would choose the poignant, meaningful ones. hmmmm.

Hmm, I think Willow would be the one to go for the meaningful stuff. Or perhaps a really silly computer pun or something; that sounds very Willow-y. Tara sort of reminds me of myself; we're quiet and shy when we're around people, but in an anonymous setting like the Internet, it's okay to totally let loose. I wouldn't be surprised if Tara's sig was something wacky and hilarious, or even smutty! As for avatars ..... don't know about Willow. Tara would either have a picture of Miss Kitty, or a big pineapple. Heh.

and on a completely off-topic note (but it's the daily thread, so there! ), GO TITANS!! Crush the Steelers!! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

My sig comes from my favourite Manic Street Preachers song, and sumed up my feelings on life at the time I picked it. That said, its more gloomy than I feel about things and I should really change it.

Talking of CDUK, I did see Mel C on there this morning looking rather splendid .. never liked the Spice Girls, but on her own she's hot

Even my name has Amber overtones, since the first time she appeared in Hush, I thought Oh Oh...it's always the quiet ones that have hidden depths [well that's my experience anyway]. I thought for a moment she was going to turn out to be 'the-baddie-of-the-week', how wrong I was!

The sig line - she wears secrets in her hair - is from a Beth Orton song : 'Sweetest Decline' which along with everything else summed Tara [and Amber] up in my mind

My avatar is simply the Goddess known as Shirley Manson, from my favourite band, Garbage. It's a cropped pic from the concert I attended this past October. *Sigh* Oh to see it once again.

The quotes: 1) From "The Body" during the Christmas dinner scene. I like it mostly due to the fact that I'm always a boozehound at Christmas, and that Tara has the cutest laugh after Xander says that line. 2)I'm quoting myself after a friend of mine asked me what I was doing online. Boring, really...but I like it.

I dont have an avatar because Im not clever enough to figure out how to do one. My sig on the old board used to be Im very seldom naughty which is one of my all-time favorite Willow lines. It also applies to me, which is another reason I liked it; it was a quote I could identify with. I havent gotten around to attaching it on this board though.

I got my avatar because of my undying love for any w/t, I wanted to see the tongue and I coudln't get close enough and I thought I'll just do their mouths it worked! The sig comes from my love of old movie stars, I wanted to put something by Bette Davis but it was a bit too offensive So Tallulah will do. And I am going to retire this avatar, I am going to make another w/t one but in the meantime I'm going to be using another one

Well, when I joined this board I'd always been extra fond of the flaming O. Since it was the most sexual thing we'd been allowed to see until Tara floated off the bed. So a kind soul made this for me special. My sigs have varied. I usually try to have something funny and I think these are two of the funniest lines never to make the final episode.

And I too loved Ruth's "Squish. Squish. Squish." That and the little while she was using "I want you tonight, are you in the mood" - no reason.

And Xita should you retire that avatar I will be sad to see its passing. It's lurvely.

Some days I wish I could stay at the "Breast Gal" level forever.

I really like quote's, where people say one thing, but in the context it just comes out wrong. This one is a true gem, and one that people on this board will get.

On to the story of it. You see, my sig is actually a quote from our very own katydid0317.

We (a bunch of people from this board) where in Birmingham, AL on the Redmont Hotel having breakfast together. It's the day we are going to the Chance premiere. Everyone are up early, and some look a bit hung over/tired. Including Katie. And while everyone are happily chatting away, she suddenly says "I feel as if a kitten sat on my face all night". The conversation just...stops. For a few seconds you could hear a pin drop, while everyone looked at Katie. What did she just say? And then we all burst out laughing.

See, Katie isn't a naughty girl. She has a cat that tends to wake her up at odd hours, by getting up in her bed, and in her face. So she was really only adressing her lack of sleep the previous night.
But in that crowd, saying it like that?

Seriously, it's a good movie. I've seen it like 10 times.

The one I had before was Wllow and Tara on the roof in Listening to Fear. Just a nice sweet moment between them. Beautiful and full of love.
