Postby feena191 » Fri Dec 27, 2002 4:28 am

This is the 1st time I've done a daily thread so I hope it's okay, & hasn't been done too recently - Mods please delete if so :)

Friday's not such a bad day for me to go back, as I only work til 1pm anyway. Anyone else work good or bad hours?

What kind of jobs do you think Tara & Willow would have once they've finished collage?

Well we did have a daily thread yesterday, but just this once I'll let it slide. [img:ff89d8afcc]http://jeeptalk.org/crack/smilies/otn/funny/kaboom.gif[/img:ff89d8afcc]

Oh yeah, I crack myself up. [img:ff89d8afcc]http://216.40.249.192/mysmilies/cwm/cwm/rcain.gif[/img:ff89d8afcc]

Anyway, until 5 weeks ago I only worked irregular hours. 24 hour shifts in the weekend 2 or 3 times a month or 3 times a week when there weren't enough of us, yuck, during the weekdays I usually had two 15 hour evening/nightshifts. Zero regularity. One week it would be a monday and wednesday, the next a tuesday and friday and then them 24 hour shifts somewhere on a saturday or sunday. Much fun was had by my biological clock. [img:ff89d8afcc]http://smilies.crowd9.com/cwm/3dlil/ugh.gif[/img:ff89d8afcc]

I am currently consuming my vacation days before I will move on to a job with more regular hours.

As for WT, whatever it is they will end up doing I hope it will leave them with a lots of free time to provide us with smutfic. :p

I'm loitering on the computer until I start my shift of 4-10pm. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who do actually call right on 10pm to ask about their mortgage! I'm back in on Monday too but then have the rest of the week off to make the most of my sweetheart being back from Kansas! Christmas all over again here! She's gotten me hooked on the sweetie/candy "Little Bit O Honey", I may have to take one into work with me tonight to sweeten my disposition of someone calling to transfer money when the banks are all closed and they want it done NOW!
Hope everyone is having a great Friday!:grin

Man, you guys suck. I had to go back to work yesterday. Heh. And I have to go in early today. Blech. Of course that means I get to get OUT early today, which is "yay!"

My hours are kinda long, 8 to 5, M-F, but such is the fun of working full time. And it certainly doesn't hurt that a lot of what I do is desky and takes up only enough of my attention (organizing filing, mostly) that I can lurk in chat and harass the Kittens at various points throughout the day. Some sweet day in the future I hope to be able to afford to cut back to part time so that I can have more time to write, but at this point, doesn't look likely to be soon. Maybe after Jer finishes school. Of course by then we'll be beginning our lesbian baby factory business.

"Goddess, I'm pregnant!" :baby :party :puke

Heh.

Well, as (bad) luck would have it, I came into work this morning and discovered they need me to work a double shift. I believe this is the right icon, :yawn . So I guess I'll catch up on fic today, and let them pay me overtime for it.Could be worse. Now I just have to decide which one to read - I read Dark Rose the other day, but nothing else lately. Any thoughts?

Well we have flexi-time which allows me to clock up some rather unusual but long hours.

The only thing that I do resent about being back at work is the fact that my boss spends the entire time talking to my breasts. I mean I can't fault breast staring per se. It can be a quality pastime, and I daresay my breasts are more attractive than my face. I just begrudge the fact that it comes from a socially inept, computer-illiterate twerp with a dandruff problem.

cheers,
Sonya

Hmm... work... this place is a nut house. Either feast or famine all the time. I'm either working late or not at all. Of course now that the holidays are here and the rest of the world gets to take vacation I am up to my eyeballs in crap to do. But it sure beats unemployment...

And jules, baby talk already? :baby Just make sure you get all your :heart :party and :jho in before hand. Once the kiddies come its hard to revert back to the whoring ways. ;)

Hm, my working hours. Depends in what you define as "work" I suppose. Heh.

Ah well, looking forward to New Year. Thank God Christmas is over with the least amount of family trauma ever recorded in our whole family history. I rather enjoyed it. That's something pretty unknown, heh heh. Oddly enough, my parents and my brother and sister-in-law visited today and we had much fun examining my Jesus action figure. No word of a lie. My mother was quite taken with it actually.

And so, it's onto next week. I can't bloody wait. Although you'd never believe how difficult it is to get a damn taxicab at New Year. Guess I'll be the one who's wandering around drunk at 5am whining about wanting to go home. ;)

I'm working today. I have to teach flute from 9:30 to 10:00 this morning, and again from 4:00 to 4:30 this afternoon. I worked a few hours yesterday. Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays usually have a lot of down time, because I pack in a lot of students on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Wednesdays and Thursdays I'm on a 9 am to 9:30 pm schedule. If I have a rehearsal or a concert during the week, I have to rearrange my schedule in order to maintain the teaching income while performing. It's rare for me to have two days off in a row. Actually, sometimes I go weeks at a time without any days off.

Sometimes I wonder if a 9-5 job as an accountant, with weekends off and paid vacations, would be easier. But every time I get tempted to change careers, something magical happens in a concert or a lesson, and I find myself unable to imagine doing anything else for a living.

I guess if bad comes to worse and you run out of supplies on New Years Eve, you could always use the Jesus action figure to turn water into wine.

:blush DrG - oops, see I knew I'd do it wrong & make myself look like a doofus :) I meant the job thing :)

I think Willow would probably do something with computers, maybe writing programmes, & Tara would do something more artistic or naturalistic, maybe having a Natural Remedies/Magic Ingredients kind of shop.

My working hours are all over the place. We have two basic shifts, 7.30am to 3.30pm and 8.30am to 4.30pm.

But if we have night meetings we could be working from 7.30am to 9.30pm. Then there's Saturday and Sunday shifts to add into the equation :)

The Christmas rota system worked out pretty well for me this year, I avoided Boxing Day and New Year's Day, the two worst shifts. And I don't go back to work until Sunday. It had nothing to do with the fact that I devised the rota. Honest, guv'nor.

Today...well, today I had the chance to repay my best mate for the support and love she's given me over the last few weeks. I'm quite sure I don't do it as well as she does, but I'm glad I could try.

Back to work, indeed.

I had a great conversation with my publisher (I'm still getting used to saying that :shy ) this morning. He answered all my concerns, many of them before I'd even had the chance to voice them. He appears to be a nice old guy who just loves to publish books. He loved Hoosier Girl, doesn't think it'll need much revision, can't wait to get it into print, wants to see my other two books if the people currently looking at them turn them down, and even gave me a suggestion or two about other stuff I could write. This is so much of what I've been wanting in such a short amount of time that it's left me wondering if maybe I accidentally sold my soul to the devil a while back and nobody remembered to tell me. :p

Oh, and on another note (pun intended :shy ), I made a RealMedia clip from my choir's performance at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Tuesday:

[img:2743ba28df]http://www.eriscorp.com/canterbury/2002/Joy.jpg[/img:2743ba28df]

Yes, the goofy looking guy in the middle of the frame is me. I was standing dead center in the back row, between two women who are much shorter than I am. I guess that made me a tempting target for the camera. In any event, click on the picture if you want to see the clip.

Have a great day, everybody! :bounce

Just got back from seeing my horse, he'd been kicked yesterday and I spent a sleepless night worrying about him. But the vet has given him the all clear and he is sound today. *Sigh of happiness* It's great when things are better than you thought they'd be.
