It's Final Exam Wednesday MKF 9/18/2002

Well Kittens,

I have to give a statistics final exam tonight. Fun.

But the trouble is for the last few weeks I have not been able to write "Final Exam" on the whiteboard without having to smile! So while there will be plenty of sweating, there are no library cages in my final exam tonight.

So here is today's question.
Has anything from the Pens (or this board) creeped into your real life in some strange and unexpected way?

Well it is chilly and raining here in Chicagoland. I have not had any coffee, so I am off to find caffine!

Oh yeah its always happening to me. Frequently if I'm having a conversation about BtVS I have to double check in my head if it really did happen on the show or if it was something I read in one of the fics on the Pens.

I second what Mollyig said... especially when I was caught up in a missing scenes fic I was writing the line between the show and the fic was very blurred.

It happens the same with fics I read too.

I constantly quote Buffy, and Willow and Tara...
and the other day I said this quote to my friends and they are looking at me confused and then I said 'oh no wait that was a fanfic!" I must say it was quite funny.

I've already posted this on the Final Exam thread but it kinda fits in with this topic so here it is again.

I was watching Ghost World, the film with Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson, with my friends and Joel came on the screen as a porn shop clerk. I absolutely cracked up thinking, 'Aw, bless, he's still helping people out with their sex lives.' My friends had no idea why I was laughing at an extra with no lines and I had no way of explaining it in anything like a coherent manner.

And I have no idea why I've told this story twice now, it's actually quite embarrasing.

Like Tara22, I find myself quoting Willow, Tara, Buffy and ...Anya too.
It does cause some embarrasing moments because not many of my friends watch the show.
But I just can't help it.
Also, after reading Mike's Endless fan fic I have no trouble of erasing any bad things from the last season from my mind. And other writers help too. From what they tell me I know for certain that Willow and Tara are well and they even have a lovely family of their own.

Well, I did run out to buy jam tarts immediately after reading Touchstone. Unfortunately, my jam tarts didnt lead to the same result as they did in the fic. *Sigh* Maybe you have to be in Wales for them to work properly.

At least its better to give a statistics exam than to have to take one. And your Chicago rain is making its way into Detroit, although I shouldnt complain because we really do need it here.

I do the usual thing of remembering a really good storyline, and then I suddenly realise that I read it in a fic on Pens.

Odd, the things that stick in my head, really. But what rings true is that Pens is a whole lot nicer to be around than what Season 6 spewed out.

I'm crabby today. Just thought I'd share. I'm crabby and pissy and getting bitchy. My parents have noticed. It doesn't bode well for tonight.

Tommo, you need a mug of hot chocolate, a good book and a bath. In that order, of course. Seriously; no matter how crabby or bitchy you might be, it'll work like magic.

See, I realised after seeing your posts that my own post looked like a real call for some attention. Believe me, that isn't the case at all. I just thought it was fair warning if I seem snippy today. Bleh. And oddly enough, my parents are being super nice to me as well.

There's a first time for everything, I suspect.

I'm just stressed and all grrrrr. And hot chocolate (though lovely and yummy) won't really help, I'm afraid.

Season Sux began today in Germany. I was watching it with a friend who does only know some of the upcoming storyline and she was shouting at Willow when she killed poor bambi and then was beginning to bitch at the writers about how ridiculous it is to make Willow all un-Willow-ish. After that she went all "Wha? This is all so depressing and not funny at all, does this get better? Please tell me it gets better!?" Poor girl, bless her.

am i an id for not digging how it could be final exam time already? i freely admit i am a flake.
anywhoo, today in particular in my mystery colloquium i found myself at a loss for words because everytime i had a point my inclination was to explain it in terms of buffy or to reference certain happenings and make parralells, in terms of what happens in "biggest foe ever the heros perfect rival" confrontation scenes, and i had to stop myself and rethink my phrasing. because of course, serious posh new england seven sisters college professor discussing conan doyle and poe, and i cant really bring up the works of one mr joss whedon as comparable now can i.... of courrrse not. never would. but still, all that's in my brain.

Well i havent read much fic, yea thats right im probably the only kitten who is not addicted..I have been to Ruths website and read her fic, outstanding by the way..Ive read a few other, but no on a daily basis, nothing against the talented writers, but when i start reading the parts where W/T start with the hanky panky well it just makes me realize what im missing

Also OT, Recently i went back to work for an ex employer after quitting and trying a different job for 7 months...i moved to Phoenix with the promise of a store when i got here, that was 6 months ago..i finally got my own store yesterday..Yea for me..

Now do i really want the headaches again To bad i didnt get a raise, but if i turn this loser store around who knows...im just happy to have my own store

Basically the fic from Pens is going to BE my Buffy this year. I'm going off to school tomorrow, yeah I know my classes start late, and I don't think I'm going to have the "time" to watch Buffy this year. (After last season, I'm not soo upset about that, but hey) Anyway, my roomate and I don't have a TV as of right now, so, yeah, pretty much the Pens stories will have to do. Not that that's so bad since at least there W&T are alive adn happy.

I'm doing the most depressing assignment possible, in the history of the universe. About gay-hate crimes. The research involves reading what different murderers have said about homosexuals, and it's making me feel incredibly sick. *sigh* Why couldn't I have chosen a nice, dull topic like everyone else did?

Sorry, just needed to rant...OK back to depressing book #12.
