WB Aly interview

I found this small interview with Aly at the WB website. I don't know if its been posted yet.

THE WB: How does Buffy compare now to when you first started five years ago?
ALYSON: It's definitely different. When we first started, it was our small, intimate little group. And now it's beyond anything anyone could have fathomed with the merchandising and the world-wide fan base. It's incredible! You can't ask for something this nice, and it's still wonderful.

THE WB: You were recently in Australia...
ALYSON: Yes, and I was really sick in Australia and it was not fun, sorry.

THE WB: What do you think of the general response to the Buffy phenomenon?
ALYSON: It's awesome, it's overwhelming, and it's great. I feel bad for the fans in other countries because they haven't started getting the fifth season so they're relying on spoilers on the Internet.

THE WB: Do you use the Internet?
ALYSON: Sometimes.

THE WB: What is your favorite Internet site?
ALYSON: It's my friend's website, and it sounds dirty, but it's not. It's www.pussart.com. He paints and all his paintings have cats, and he makes his own frames. In fact, there's a painting of his in Willow's dorm room. It's happy and fun.

THE WB: How do you feel about the development of Willow?
ALYSON: I think it's great. Willow has come from the shy wallflower to really becoming a great person who's not as reserved and shy. College is definitely her place, she fits in and all of her developments have been great.

THE WB: Where would you like to see the character go from here?
ALYSON: I don't know. I think she's becoming more powerful with her magic, and that's really cool, but Joss is really the brilliance behind all the arcs and everything - so wherever he wants her to go.

THE WB: You're one of the few actors/actresses on The WB who has successfully transitioned into film. What did you like the most about that and do you have any other projects coming up?
ALYSON: I do have a movie that is lost somewhere in independent land, but I really love both aspects of film and television. Luckily, our shows are like doing a really quick film because we shoot on 35mm. But with movies you actually get time to rehearse, try new things, improv, and do stuff like that, so that's always a nice luxury. I like both. We're going to try to fit in stuff... but it's kind of hard to figure out what to do because the strike is coming up. Everything is starting while Buffy is still in production, so who knows?

I think that Aly got a lot of grief from fans when Willow and Tara got together. Either that or the spelling really does upsets her *g*. Thanks for posting the interview Catwoman. From what Aly said, I wonder how much control the cast has over what goes in their rooms on set?

Thanks for posting the interview Catwoman. And yeah Ruth she does sound pissed, if it possible to sound pissed in a typed up interview, maybe she was jumping up and down for joy when she said it, but somehow I doubt it.

And what a cute site! I'll bet pussart (what a clever name, that will draw attention) will get a lot of kitties visiting today. I love the titles of some of those drawings, "Dreaming of Willows" and "F uck You , F uck You , F uck You" stand out. Bwahahaha, very artistic. I love it.

Now I have to go study the eps again to see which one is in Willow's room.

Editing to add: Hee, I never knew that , but Novogate really censors that. How fun.

The one in Will's room is of course 'Dreaming of Willows'. Appropriate I think, and wicked cool. I always thougt it was great, now I see the artist has a lot of other great ones... Now how long 'til we see a Jeff Buckley poster in Tara's room.... I wonder. ( I also still want to know WHO put the Nautipuss thing in there...)

I was given to understand that Aly uses the net quite a lot. I know that when she was over here last year, she was checking out messages on the bronze.

But it *is* hard to sound pissed off when it's in writing. But it's the shortness of her sentences that give it away. She sounds quite abrupt.

I just found this thread too and I was wondering if there was an alternate link as well. Did the Kittens crash this guys server with all the sudden visits and he had to move somewhere else LOL? I'm really curious to see the "Dreaming of Willows" picture.

From what I've read and seen in other interviews Aly generally runs on with her answers - kind of like Willow-Babble-Mode, so it was surprising to see that she gave just a one-word answer to the Internet question. It did come off a bit curt. I've read that she checks out fan website, the bronze (and even makes posts to the message board), and has even posted her phone number to the boards (but she was moving the next day so it was just kind of a goofy, fun thing to do).

AmberBensonFan, if you want to see the "Dreaming of Willows" picture, watch "The Real Me" (E2S5). Specifically, the scene in which Willow and Tara are decorating Willow's new room. Before *the Hug* Willow is carrying a painting that she places on the desk against the back wall. That is the the Dreaming of Willows picture. If you look carefully you will see it hanging on the wall in other episodes as well. This is just the scene I am certain of, so it easy to give directions.

Of course I have no idea how she was feeling on the day of the interview which may have affected her responses.
By this time it was known that: a) there would be no on screen partying for the 100th ep, b) 100th ep was to be called series end rather than season finale. These might be a contributing factor to her answers.
This question may have really come earlier in the interview which shows how clueless WB was and probably still is at this time.

Okay I can't get into the 'pussart' site either, and though I know what the painting looks like, I was hoping to get a copy of it!! Soo, can ANYONE help? I mean is the site working for anyone? Does anyone have a copy of the painting that's shown on Buffy?!?

Hmm about Alys' short net answer. It's weird seeing her just answer simply 'sometimes' when Amber goes on..and on..and on, lol, about the net if she's asked something like that question! Lol, reason number three hundred and five thousand why I love Amber..
