The Buffy episodes in REAL PLAYER format! thread seems to have grown too large. The posts on page 41 are not showing.

I am starting this new thread for people to post their links to download sites and information on multimedia stuff etc.

Here's the important information from the previous thread (I'll add more to this later):

Remember: There is a separate thread that covers Usenet. Another good way to find episodes is by using Morpheus, which can be downloaded here. DivX versions can also be found here.

The main places to get RealMedia versions of the episodes are from the Roswellian Hellmouth (which also has Roswell episodes), and Once More With Feeling (which also has Angel episodes). Please do not repost the links anywhere else without the permission of Steve or Lee respectively.

Why bother with RealMedia files?

The quality isn't great, but the files are comparatively tiny. Most of the world won't be able to see these on TV for a long time, so this is the only way that many people can watch them.

Each episode tends to be around 47Mb in total, and the parts are usually about 10Mb each. If you have a slow connection, it's helpful to use a download manager so you don't have to get it all in one go. Recommended programs for Windows are : Download Accelerator, GetRight, and Go!Zilla. Similar programs for the Mac can be found here. The can sometimes be problems caused by resuming a file, usually noticable by the zip file being corrupt, or the Realmedia file being stuck on 'Buffering'. If this does happen, you will need to download it again.

Combining several parts into one file (Windows):

First you'll need to get a copy of RealProducer Plus from here, using the serial number:
212-11026-2630
(And don't use your real name/email address)

After installing the program, start it and go to File/Edit Realmedia file. A new form pops up, so go to File/Open on this and load the first part. Then go to File/Append, open the second part and it will be added on to the end. Repeat this in the correct order for all of the parts, and you'll have the full episode. Finally, do a File/Save As... and enter a new filename to save it to disk.

This is also the program to use if anyone wants to convert other formats into RealMedia files.

As far as I know the old version of [b:b87fa2d640]Morpheus[/b:b87fa2d640] no longer connects to the Morpheus network, which is why they've released the "Preview Edition"

Oops, I wrote most of that post ages ago which is why it's a bit out of date.

Basically, KaZaA is full of spyware and adverts. Morpheus was a program that connected to the same network (StreamCast), and allowed anyone to access the files for free. Of course, lots of people started to use Morpheus so the people behind Kazaa changed things so Morpheus would no longer work. Morpheus now uses a new protocol, and it is really new so you'll probably have a hard time finding much on it.

If you do use KaZaA, make sure you use KaZaA Lite and do not install or run Bonza Buddy.

I'm on a Mac, and Morpheus, Kazaa, and Divx are all unusable. Can someone point me in the right direction?

As it is taking it from previosly visited occasions.

The slow downloads are because over 700 people are currently downloading the ep

Hi, I've tried that and when I hit reload it takes me back to the entrance where it says enter here. Then I went to view in my netscape browser and hit refresh nothing, then I cleared my cache and tried again, still nothing. I guess I'll keep trying its got to work sometime.

With IE you need to hold down control and left shift while clicking on refresh. I haven't used netscape for years, but I assume there would be something similar.

Have been reading this board for about 18 months but just decided to join today! I just want to say how incredible everyone is and has been since Saturday, [b:a673684b43]*edited spoilers [/b:a673684b43] Thank you all. Now for the reason for this post:
Have been trying to get Normal Again from Lee's site since this morning, got part 1 fine but cannot get anything else. Are there any other sites that do it, I got Hells Bells last week in one whole go rather than 5 parts. Or am I just being impatient bunny and should I wait til the traffic is cleared from Lee's site.

The reason why it came up with "Not Available" is because some c*nt posted the links on almost every newsgroup possible.
I have just been charged 100 for excessive bandwidth. Over 100gb in one hour!

Can anybody help me out here? I am almost completely brain dead when it comes to computers. I tried to download the KaZaA thing and when I try to install it, my screen says please wait while it configures its whatever. Then, a little box pops up that says I need to insert disc 2. What is disc 2? Where could it have hidden from me? Most programs I install just work on their own. Yes, I am that computer illiterate. Please help me. thanks mellowstrung
