ASH album

You know, I can hear Holly Palmer really clearly on this song, but I can't make out Amber's voice at all... :(

Then again, she's credited with "High Vocal Harmony" so I guess that's not surprising.

Hey, could you imagine the extent of the Kitten pilgrimage if Amber ever decided to do Musical Theatre? :grin

You're not wrong. He played Dr. Frank-N-Furter on stage.

I think it took a lot of courage for her to get up on that stage in what she was wearing and belt out that classic with such style! :) Good on her. I love it when the stars really put themselves out there, it gives me a lot of respect for them.

Under Your Spell is high?

Postby LadyCallie » Sun Sep 29, 2002 8:55 pm

Joss has said that he wrote 'Under Your Spell' higher as a challenge for Amber, something I don't think she was jumping up and down about. However, as a musical theatre major I have to argue that the song isn't that high. High is stuff about an octive higher (if anyone has ever seen or heard 'Jekylle and Hyde:the Musical' listen to track 17 (of the single disk version, it's the song that everybody sings about the change in Henry), the stuff Emma sings, now that is high.

Thanks to all the different people who let me DL this.....my girlfriend is gonna die......muhahahaaa!

Poor Emma and Nick have to handle an octave jump in the middle of "I'll Never Tell" (or whatever it's called...) -- I suddenly have a lot more respect for Nick's singing efforts :)

can you help?

Postby jaycatt23 » Fri Oct 04, 2002 3:41 pm

Don't know if this is the correct thread to post in, but I'm sure I'll get told off if its bad.

I'm currently living in Germany, and season 6 (boo) has just started to air on Pro7.

Now, due to my lack of ownership of SkyOne during my previous life, in England, I haven't seen series 6.

And I know bad things happen.

But, I wanna hear Amber sing. On my telly. But, cos its german, its all dubbed.

So, was wondering, if any kitties knew what the t.v. people might be planning on doing for the musical episode, cos, dubbing that is gonna cause trouble, surely?

singing in german might just be too weird....

Amber Singing

Postby reyjawk » Sat Oct 05, 2002 8:21 am

"The way she sings "Everything is turning out so dark" sends shivers down my spine, I have listened to that bit over and over again! "

I am the same way. Whenever Drawn to the Fire gets to point where I know she says that I crank the stereo up. That just makes me all tingly all over. I also love Giles's low and lower bit "Will this do a thing to change her, am I leaving Dawn in danger, Is my slayer too far gone to care."

Amber singing Rocky Horror! I downloaded that last year, I have the Mp3, and the video. Plus I have Giles as Dr. Frank'n'furter. Both of those videos are just too much. Amber is sooo cute. I love when she sings "I wanna be dirty!" Grrr

jaycatt23 I have no idea what they'll do to the musical, probably best to ask any French/Etc Kittens (if it's played there that is).

However if they do dub it with German singing be sure to let us know - that would definately be the funniest thing I'd have heard in quite a while!

jaycatt23, you should really consider downloading the musical to your computer. It's avalible in both good and amazing quality on Imesh and Kazaa (sharing softwares). If you have a slow connection it might take some time but it will download.

Cheers, Mrs Vertigo.

I'd have a go at doing that, but at the minute I'm having to use my flatmate's computer. Flatmate has left the country, and disconnected the speakers from the computer, and I'm so inept with all things technical, I can't work out how to reattach them....

Ho hum. Watching the Rocky Horror thing with no sound was particularly amusing and entertaining, but not entirely satisfying. Still made me feel all squishy, though. Grin.

Just wanted to impart some filesharing wisdom-like stuff here. If you don't have Kazaa yet and are thinking about downloading it to get buffy eps. or whatever. I'd recommend KazaLite instead www.kazaalite.com It's just like Kazaa but it doesn't come with all the extra adware/spyware stuff. I use it all the time and it's really great, it also comes with Speed Up so you can get more sources to download from quicker.

Ohhh listening to Amber singing, one of my favourite things to do .

Apart from the RHPS song I have 3 others that feature Amber. They are from Tony's album Music for Elevators and are called:

~ All the Fun of the Fair

~ Last Time

~ We Can Work It Out

I highly recommend We Can Work It Out because Amber basically sings the whole thing with Tony doing a few vocals here and there throughout.

I downloaded my copies using kazaa (I haven't been able to find them anywhere else ).

Like ChibiWillowR I use kazaalite. It is fantastic the amount of stuff I have found in relation to my favourite ladies and

In fact I might run off and listen to some lovely Amber singing right now.

Jill,

I hate to disappoint you, but it's not Amber singing with Tony on, "We Can Work It Out." It's a girl named Holly Palmer.

This is possibly my favorite thread ever. I don't have anything of significance to add, but yeah. I love love love love it when Amber sings and since I've pretty much the same vocal range, it's good times. (sighs happily)

Didn't she sing in one of the young playwrights shows? I wonder if anyone in the world recorded it. Wouldn't it be funny if we got in touch with the kid who wrote it and were like, "heeeey, we love your show and your songwriting is great. . . are you releasing it on CD any time soon?"

And the RHPS bit. . . Yeah, so great. I love Rocky in any form (my favorite Janet other than Amber was an adorable tall black drag queen), but Amber makes it even extra extra wunnerful.

Does anyone have the RHPS DVD and if so, does it include Amber singing?

I completely agree that it took a lot of nerve for her to sing in front of an audience in that outfit. She rocks.

Wouldn't it be great if Amber released an album.

Under you spell and the one line in drawn to the fire highlight succinctly how much or a wonderful singer Amber really is.

I'd have to agree that that one line she has in drawn to the fire is the only thing I'm listening out for in that entire section.:)

Hey Jennpurr, thanks for clearing that up. Once again I am wrong

It's a damn shame it isn't Amber but hey I love the song and Holly sure can sing so all is good.

I think I shall run off and listen to the OMWF soundtrack (of course I only listen to the bits that Amber and Aly sing) to get me Amber fix for the day.
