Willow and Tara Psychological Types

Postby Mrs. Pineapple » Fri May 17, 2013 10:26 am

Hi Kittens!

Lately I've been really into Psychology Types. If you don't know what that is, type in 'MBTI' in google (Wikipedia can explain this more eloquently than I can). Figuring out my Psychological Type really helped me figure out who I am, which was really helpful to me. And, as a W/T shipper, I was kind of curious what kind of Psychological Type our favorite couple would have.

Based on my research (that sounds like too serious a word for what I've been doing, though) of MBTI Type profiles, I thought it most likely that Willow is an INTJ, also known as a 'Mastermind', and that Tara is an INFJ, also called a 'Counselor'.

Though generally when it comes to romantic relationships, the system often couples introverts to extraverts, it seems to me that both Willow and Tara are introverted. When you consider this, the INTJ/INFJ coupling seems to make more sense, as one website I visited called them 'Jungian siblings', and on various forums I read that generally INTJs and INFJs get along really well.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think other psychological types might be more fitting to Willow and/or Tara? Sorry to bring up such a nerdy topic, but I've been curious about it for quite some time. :geek

Thanks for your thoughts!

I am the strongest ISTJ you will ever see.

It is important to keep in mind that the I and the E, introvert and extrovert, do not refer to the gross psychology of a person. While I am comfortable in groups and crowds, my preference is to keep to myself and work alone; thus, I am an I. I strongly feel that Tara would be an I, as well as an N (Intuitive), Feeling and Perception. INFP. I think Willow might be more an E, S, T and J, though I could perhaps see her as an I as well, so an ISTJ. You see Willow as N, and I as S, and here is why I see her that way: "Individuals who prefer sensing are more likely to trust information that is in the present, tangible, and concrete: that is, information that can be understood by the five senses. They tend to distrust hunches, which seem to come "out of nowhere". They prefer to look for details and facts." Willow was always research girl...

But fun to speculate!

:) I'm glad you think so. I have to say you do make a good case for Willow being an ISTJ, though I actually suspect that Willow might be an F. Yes, she's very analytical, but she's also very sensitive and empathetic towards other people's feelings. The blog I found here suggests that she's an INFP. Not sure I agree with that, though. :hmm The blog does state that Tara is an INFJ. As an INFJ myself, I'm probably biased when I say I agree with that, but sometimes the line between INFJ and INFP is very thin, so I guess I can be happy enough calling Tara an INFx. :-p

I like that Tara could be an INF(J or P)! :-)
