There's this shop in London, about 25 minutes from London Victoria Station...they do all this 'fake' Buffy/Angel merchandise. They do an inflatable Angel doll, which is so weird, and all this character-based underwear - including: Willow, Tara and Dawn.

------------------
Original Cici

Buffy - 'What happened to Xander?'
Giles - 'He kept poking me with his hook. I sent him over to charmed objects. With any luck he'll poke the wrong one and end up in an alternate dimension inhabited by a fifty-foot Giles that squishes annoying teeny pirates.'

Dawn - 'I kiss all the time. Not that i'm a kiss slut.'

Original Cici, I gotta ask you the name of the shop. Because if there's W/T underwear involved, I'm in there. Not literally in the underwear. Maybe in the shop, then in the underwear.
And inflatable Angel sounds fun too....

News on (and pictures of) new ornaments: one of Drusilla, and two of the Gentlemen from 'Hush':

They also have pictures of the Drusilla statue and the forthcoming (very colourful) bust of Lorne.

I just found some Amber stationary on UK Yahoo! auctions for £4. Haven't seen this before, and if you look at the other 'Buffy' auctions, there's stationary with other characters too.

Eh, I bet that's just someone printing the picture from their computer, you could do it yourself if you have a decent printer for cheaper.

Thanks for the info Tyche.
I'm sure you're right Veda, and as much as I like Amber Benson, this is not something I'd buy, on the other hand, if they'd make something officially W/T like this I'd want it, so I can put it on my little W/T shrine, not to actually use.
And what I really really really would want to have is a Willow/Tara and/or a Tara poster. Oh yeah, I am 8 years old again, plastering the walls with my favourite couple this time instead of my favourite girls band.

Just wanted you guys to check out Buffy comic #43, looks like it's going to be really good but check out the cover, it's amazing, the way they captured everyone is right on the money but the best part is W/T of course, they look so great there, holding on to each other…sigh…and not to mention Tara tummy

hey thanks The Rose, here's the text:

First off, actress Amber Benson, who plays Tara on Buffy has expressed interest in writing another Willow and Tara special. Given the state of the two characters’ relationship in the current series, however, it’s pretty much a given that it will deal with days past when they were a couple, said Buffy editor Scott Allie.

Still unscheduled, the new Willow and Tara project has an artist, one who calls animation home. “The artist is a new guy named A.J. Jothikaumar, an animation artist who Jeff Matsuda introduced me to,” Allie said. “His stuff is really fantastic, and I hope to do a lot more work with him after this. Although I should probably wait to say that until the art's started coming in. His samples were amazing.”

“The project will run two issues, written by Amber and Christopher Golden, set around the time of Buffy's death, though we're intentionally vague about whether before or after,” Allie continued. “They take Dawn camping in Northern California, and they realize that some wood spirits there are a little out of control, killing people. Turns out they have good reason, and Willow and Tara have to figure out how not to take sides in a battle where they really sympathize with the non-humans.”

"...it’s pretty much a given that it will deal with days past when they were a couple..."

Okay, this bothers me. I don't like to think of them as a done deal.

But on the bright side, woo hoo for Amber!

I like the Haunted issue. I'll take any Faith I can get, even in comics.

Has anyone else read Buffy #40 yet? Part 1 of Ugly Little Monsters? Was anyone else a little disturbed by it? Poor Tara... And that darned Willow... At least the panel where Buffy is sitting on the bed reading Fray #5 was funny. I love the details - there's a picture of Joyce on the end table with the phone on it.

I don't have a scanner so hopefully some kind and wonderful person will post pics soon for the comic book deprived.

I went wednesday looking for it, unfortunately, they didn't have it. I'll go today to look for it. The other thing is, I won't be able to scan this for a bit cause i am on my old back up computer, new hard drive failed, new one in the mail. Anyway, so if anyone else can scan it for people, that would be great.

I checked on TFAW and Tales of the Slayer is touted for release on 16th January. Or thereabouts. It was originally meant to be released in November. Wonder what the hold up was?

Anything Joss is actually writing for is getting pushed back. Especially Fray. Also there are 2 books with Tales of the Slayer in the title.

Released in October "Tales of the Slayer, Vol. 1, chronicles Slayers past who have influenced -- and are influenced by -- the traditions and mythologies of yore. From ancient Greece, to aristocratic Slayers holding court in revolution-era France, to the legend of the Bloody Countess Elizabeth Bathory, to 1920's Munich, each girl has a personal history, a shared moral code, and a commitment to conquer evil, regardless of the cost...." It's a paperback with stories written by Yvonne Navarro, Nancy Holder, Christie Golden, Mel Odom, Doranna Durgin, and Greg Rucka.

The other is Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Tales of the Slayer TPB from Dark Horse, due on Jan 16. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the latest in a long tradition of young women who've been trained to give their lives in the war against vampires. We've gotten glimpses of these other women over the years on TV, in comics, and in books. Now for the first time, the writers from the television series, including the show's creator, Joss Whedon, and one of its stars, Amber `Tara` Benson, present the tales of these girls, with the help of comics greatest artists."

And those are not to be confused with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Lost Slayer paperback series written by Christopher Golden.

Well, there goes all of the cash Santa left me...

Does anybody know where I can get a poster for the Buffy musical? It hasn't got Tara on it but it's got Buffy, Willow and Xander and at the bottom what looks like Dawn and Sweet. I 've looked for it everywhere and the only place I found it said they were sold out.

Tara's Psychic Fairy, I got mine from MovieMarket - I am in the UK, but they ship to most parts of the world, iirc. There are also a couple of threads further back on this board about where to buy the poster. Hope this helps.

thanks salix for the clear-up about Tales of the Slayer's release date. Amazon was telling me June 2002 and I was all crestfallen (especially since I was originally planning to buy it on its original release date in November).

now I know its not that far away *smile*
anyway, here's the cover art courtesy of www.darkhorse.com (i think the furthest right femme is the badass chika from fool for love (the 1970s slayer) and the second from the right is the first slayer (restless)):

Yeah, I am soooooo waiting on Tales of the Slayer. I saw the cover at the Dark Horse site and I was wondering if that was Amber's French Revolution Slayer standin' right up front there. Or maybe it's Joss' medieval Slayer? I dunno, I'm not up on my history of European clothing. Anyone got a clue?

Postby lionPLSdove » Tue Apr 02, 2002 3:12 am

I was wondering that myself Dazey... I also wondered if it was maybe Jane E (love her)'s Empire (aka Jane Austen) era slayer. but the dress is wrong for Empire (think empire waistline or P&P miniseries or Emma movie)...

the overall shape is more French Revolution (poofier skirt), but there is much too little decolletage showing for normal French Rev era dress- then again Slayer's are practical than your Buffy in Halloween style gals...

the loose flowing sleeves say medieval more than French Rev. the dropped waist with rope also medieval. and let's not forget the high chance of Joss's character getting the lead space.

however, I'm gonna go with Amber's French Rev character- practical turn on the clothes of the time. I also remember reading Joss's tale was way dark, more MediEVAL than fair maidens with unicorns in tapestry Middle Ages... maybe, even, the Medieval slayer is one of the two on the left. I think the other one on the left is the Native American tale of the slayer...
