Re: more surprises!

Postby urnofosiris » Fri Oct 01, 2004 5:06 pm

I want to add (I´m paraphrasing) that the Bensons are very grateful for all the great suggestions people have made so far and the support they are getting, but right now they are very busy and all they have time for are the two fundraisers they are running already (selling the Triangle Tara figures and the monthly raffle) and selling items on Ebay.

Congrats to the first lucky winners btw. :)

Should the Triangle Tara figures sell out that may possibly be enough, so it would be a big help if people buy them. Only if you can afford to of course, moral support is every bit as welcome. If you have other fundraising ideas keep them in mind, who knows if and when they may come in handy. After all with Chance some extra funding was needed to finish it. First things first though: get these Tara´s a new home. :p

Some tips about Western Union

Postby nerissa picadizo » Sun Oct 03, 2004 10:05 pm

To anyone who plans to send their money through WESTERN UNION, it’s best to ask/inquire first how much it’s gonna cost you all in all ( money your going to send & its money transfer service fee) to send it in U.S. dollars and to send it in your local currency. Then compare them.

As usually sending money through your own local currency is much cheaper (in terms of the service fee rate your gonna pay) and no matter what form of currency you will send, the person receiving it will automatically receive the money in their own currency.

I sent money once through Western Union, but I can't remember how much was the fee (or if it was a percentage of the amount sent)... But I do remember that you needed to choose a four-word code and give it to the recipient of the money... :grin

For a postal order, I know that in France, the fee is approx. 10 euros.

Just a reminder for the people going to the London Expo who want to donate money directly in the previously mentioned box in which people can leave their donations. Remember to put a name and address in the envelope as well. Your name will be added to the drawing of October or November (depending on when they get back to the US). So you will get a chance to win a Hush figure or WT set. You can donate in US dollars, euros or UK pounds.

Re WESTERN UNION (at least in our country), they have a flat service fee of $13.00 for $50.00 & below money you will send. Any amount up $50.00, the service fee rate increases. But I have to say, they are pretty much reliable.

To anyone in the Philippines, don’t even bother going to the Post Office to do U.S. money order. There is none in our country! I even went further at the national post office in the Lawton Manila area, its still non-existent -- m e and my bad luck that day!

Good for her for getting another movie in the works. She's definitely enterprising. The plot sounds interesting enough...but honestly, if Amber were in an infomercial about the merits of aluminum siding, I would still go see it. Just sayin'.

Amber was talking about it during the Q&A at Expo, and said that there's going to be less swear words in it, cuz Chance was full of swear words, and she's still embarrassed about that (aww), and that "Chance's mum" (as she's known as now, lol) will also be in it.

She also known as Christine Estabrook :p . She is currently guest starring on Desperate Housewives as the nosey neighbour who probably figured out Teri Hatcher´s character had something to do with setting that house on fire. I really liked her in Chance and she is amusing in this new show as well. You can just see the wheels turning in her head, she´s good at that, she does not really need words to say what she is thinking.

Triangle Tara sticker!!

Postby Kajun » Fri Oct 22, 2004 2:45 pm

Here is a picture of the sticker Diamond Select Toys claims will be on the Triangle Tara figure. (Disclaimer: this may not be the final design. DST often makes changes between now and actual production) Amber's mom was kind enough to send it to me along with permission to post it here on the Kitten. Thank you Diane!!

The results of the October drawing are in. The Bensons have helt an extra drawing this month for all the people who donated money at the London Expo.

The winners of the London Expo drawing are:

Melissa Atkinson, who will be receiving the Tara & Willow "forever" action figures.

The Hush Tara will go to Pascale Noiret-Aamu, who apparently has the handwriting of a doctor, so the name may be spelled incorrectly. :p

The winners of the ´regular´October drawing are:

Jennifer Cloutier who will receive the Tara & Willow "forever" action figures and Michael Thiel who will receive the Hush Tara.

Congratulations to the winners. :)

I am just :bow in front of Amber and Diane for going another extra mile for their fans; hope they've budgeted for all the shoe leather. MMMM, Amber in leather, but I digress.

Not only do we get a scrumptious signed and personalized Tara figure for all sorts of triangular action with Willow and the other Tara figures.

Not only are we empowered and imbued with the knowledge that we're part of the process to to foster and support quality independant filmmaking for a truly unique and wickedly funny voice.

We, thanks to their beneficence, can :thud :happycry at the CD of two original songs showcasing not only Amber's wordcraft but her mellifluous voice as well.:luv :bigkiss :clap

I'm just :applause with the casting of James Leary in Amber's new film project.

He is one of the few people I've ever met who instantly commands a room whenever he walks into it and he's the funniest guy on the planet.

Maybe he can bring some of Bill and Earl's "Stuntc**ks" diligence to duty to his policeman role?

Nice to see Amber has taken what seems to be a supporting role in this (Given the synopsis her character appears to be a supporting riole but who knows, she could be the main character).

It will be interesting to see how this film turns out and I for one am looking forward to it.

Well and it is really happening. Filming starts next week and this time they are shooting it on film. I did not mind the ´digital´ look of Chance, it had a home movie sort of feeling to it, which can add it´s own sense of reality, if that makes sense. Anyway, I am curious to see what this movie will look like. I hope they won´t do that camera bobbing up and down and left to right thing they do on NYPD Blue, that does not add realism to the action for me, plus it gives me motion sickness. Oy.

everyone has been included. She´s sorry for the delay and will get to it as soon as possible.

I think with the movie now taking full focus, it is understandable that there would be some delay to this and the December draws. I'm just glad that the Benson's value their honesty and their fans so much that they will make an effort, even when they are up to their necks in work.
