molsongrrrl, it is very kind of you to make it possible for others to see this. I received an email from a lurker who asked me to ask you whether it would be possible to make “Holiday Wishes” available in smaller files, at least 2 parts. Apparently the download failed at almost 90% and all was lost.

i am sorry i can't - i no longer have the file on my hard drive - but even if i still had it i am not sure i'd be willing to do this. it took a lot of work to make this available for everyone - and then i get a message from someone complaining about the "shit" file disappearing where they saved it. guess what? doesn't really inspire me to do more work.

i do appreciate the messages from folks who were happy to get the movie. thanks for the nice comments.


and i am sorry if i sound crabby ... but i post things for other people and they complain that the files aren't joined. i post something for this board and i get complaints that the movie is joined. i guess i cannot win!

That is a bummer molsongrrrl, I know the feeling, your efforts deserve thanks and not complaints. Just to clarify this for anyone else reading this thread so there are no misunderstandings, the person who me mailed me with above mentioned request was not doing any complaining. He/she has always made an effort to share information about WT or Amber/Aly that is of interest to other kittens and has been more than helpful to board members that needed it.
Anyway, moving on, if someone else knows where this might be available for download, please do not hesitate to post the info.

Hi molsongrrrl, thanks very much for making this download available and for working so hard on it. I really appreciate that. You made it possible for us non US-people to watch that TV-movie.

I liked the movie - escpecially with so much Amber-goodness. Even if it had really heavy plot breaking points. For example: Why is Dani able to miss the hole party when in the beginning Kelly really waited for her. But that didn't count for me. Amber and her hats - this alone was worth watching it. And for the record I truely liked the hole thing.

hmm. I was just going through some of the stuff that I got at the amber convention in melb (from the interview and the Q&A) and I found this bit of amber talking about what she's up to now, which mentions holiday wishes:

"I’ve just done an episode of the TV show Supernatural, that was great fun, I got to work with two cute guys, I got to be queen of the vampires. (Sarcasm voice works overtime) Such taxing work being queen of the vampires. And I just did a lifetime television movie, sort of like Freaky Friday, these two girls switch bodies and I’m the adult who has to figure out how and why they did it and switch them back. It was very awkward cos I’ve never been an adult before. They called me up and asked if I wanted to do it and I was like ‘oh sure’ and I was reading it and I’m like.. ‘I’m the adult’. I’m like the.. I’m like the.. I’m not the child anymore. It was very disconcerting to walk on the set and realise that I’m working with two girls that were born in the 90’s. I said to all the makeup girls.. you know they were born in ’91. I was like ‘no!’ ‘yeah, 15’ (nods knowingly) I thought the 80’s was bad you know? If they were born in the 80’s that was very young. So those are the two things that I just finished.. and I just finished another book. I write a series of books called Ghosts of Albion with Christopher Golden. We wrote a bunch of Buffy comics and he wrote a bunch of Buffy books. And he and I just finished our second book and it just came out in the states, it’s called Witchery and it takes place in Victorian London and there’s lots of blood and guts and sex with the lesbians… (laughs evilly) cos, you know, I have to go there. But it was really fun and I think, if you get the chance to pick it up it’s a fun read."

I know well of where Amber speaks.
I was born in 1967 and all of these college kids who work at the hotel I do were born in the late 80's and as such have no knowledge of any cultural reference beyond three days ago.

I was born in the 80's... um late 80's... realy late 80's maybe, just maybe 89...
but its still totaly weird for me to here someone born in the 90's it just seems wrong for some reason that might have to do with the fact that the people saying this were freshmen boys (and for those people who have forgoten they are at the worst stage i swear! never ever TA in a ceramics class with freshman boys!)

Getting back to the topic... I finally watched the movie tonight, and it was fun!

Okay, not the greatest cinematic feat of all time, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. But then, remember that I'm a children's author, so I'm more inclined to like these sorts of things.

They did a couple of things I wasn't expecting - as has been mentioned here, at first I thought they were angling to make the foster girl end up being Amber's long-lost sister, and I was really impressed when they didn't go that way. It makes Amber's character taking her in at the end a lot more significant, too (although way less realistic...).

I didn't even recognize Reggie from Dead Like Me. I kept thinking, "Who is that? I know her from somewhere..." She's growing up very nicely.

Oh, and I think Amber makes a very good "grownup" character. Plus I loved the bit where the two girls are trying to figure out what happened to them, and they bring up the body-switching episode from Buffy.

I understand that actors do indeed provide these sorts of pictures whenever it becomes necessary to create "family pix" for a project. The best example would be BtVS, wherein SMG and MT provided "kiddie" shots of themselves which would have then been "photoshopped" together to create "Summers Family Pictures".

I too was born in 1964...and I am so glad that Amber is 30 now...I feel like so much less of an old lech!

Reading the couple of little snippets of interviews with Ms. Amber lately, it is obvious she had recently spent a decent amount of time hanging around young teenage girls...quite the preponderance of "like" in her conversation...still I feel compelled to forgive her
