Very cute first episode to start off the season--lots of good Lily time on screen and funny interactions with Barney.

My favorite line--
Barney: I left a voice mail.
Lily: You left a voice message, but there was nothing "male" about it.

Also funny, the "code words" ("rhinoceros" and "chimichunga").

Perhaps we will finally get to see the mother this season.

Okay, the "Best Burger in New York" was fun. Not hilarious, but fun.

I do, however, have to mention Marshall's scene, the one where he was waxing poetic about this legendary burger. It was a complete tribute to/rip-off of one of Salieri's monologues straight out of the movie, Amadeus, and I almost peed myself laughing. It even had the same selection of Mozart chamber music playing in the background. So well done.

I certainly agree about this very cute episode. My favorite line--

Lily: I think I just had my first "burgasm".

By the way, the Mozart piece in question is the slow movement from his Gran Partita, K.361.

The last episode ("Interventions") offered us a nice glimpse of several different outfits and "looks" for Lily through the successive flashbacks.

Hey... is it just me, or is Lily making a lot of references to Robin's body parts? It seems like in every episode, she says something about noticing Robin's legs or how she looks in a certain outfit, things like that.

I just thought that was interesting. I wonder if that's setting something up or just wishful thinking on my part.

Quite a good episode last night (10/20)! Even though it was clearly Ted/Stella centered, there was a lot of good Lily material, especially her taunting of Barney while he is trying to remain "faithful" to Robin.

My favorite line--

Lily (terfully): Blahbity-blah-wickity-wack-eeky-eeky-eeky-weeeeeeee...

I'm really enjoying all of the Lily/Barney interactions that have been shown this season. I've always liked them together, and frankly, I find their antics far more entertaining than the Ted/Stella thing. The impromptu wedding just reeked of disaster as soon as it was mentioned, so I knew right away that it wasn't going to end well. Otherwise, a pretty good episode.

From the look of the preview for tonight's episode, it looks like we're about to see the result of Aly's real life preggers situation impact the show.

Dancing With the Stars contestant Kim Kardashian will appear on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, reports People.com. She will join The Hills’ couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag in the episode, and they will be playing "magazine cover versions of themselves," according to a show rep.

Tonight's HIMYM: The return of Dark Willow!

Just kidding. But Lilly's patented "You Are Dead to Me!" look, complete with glowing red eyes and a CGI-ed explosion on the part of the victim, made me think of Dark Willow. I was both cringing and laughing at the same time.

Lmao! i was thinking the same thing!!...i'm thinking it was a definite homage to Dark Willow....especially with the wind going through her hair each time she gave the look...it kept reminding me of the first time she faced off with Glory.

I felt that this was the Lily episode we have been waiting for this Season.

My only qualm--I don't think that Chris Elliott looks old enough to be Lily's father. Otherwise he was excellent in the part.

The "B" story about the slap (complete with all the puns and wordplay on "slap") was amusing, with Barney's terror being beautifully portrayed by NPH.

And yes, the "You're dead to me" look was a definite hommage to Dark Willow.

I loved this nights musical episode. Aly had a few more words to sing than her last: "I think this line's mostly filler" on Buffy. Lol

A truly splendid 100th episode for the series!

Lily/AH can certainly bring off a male suit with no effort at all. I don't think, however, that she had even as much to sing as in the famous "Buffy" episode cited above (I think it was a couple of words about world peace).
There weren't any special single Lily lines, but I did enjoy this one--

LILY (about the "Hot Bartender"): I'd wear that ass as a hat!

As for the stories themselves, I definitely thought we were going to see the mother, but we only got to see her foot. :( Oh well, at least we got to see how she got her yellow umbrella back.

The suit story was cute, and the musical numbers were nicely staged.

So two more seasons for Robin to bend the other direction and to get AMber as a guest star, hopefully in the same arc. (Maybe if we get that we can also get a cameo shot of ALy in red hair, AMber in blonde, and two little girls walking past a window of a restaurant the gang is at.)

Not me. I mean, I did use to make it appointment viewing, but I more or less stopped round about near the end of the third season, which was, not coincidentally when they had Britney "I'm Not Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs" Spears on. I still catch it when its on, but I don't go out of my way to do so.
