There was also a question and answer session at the end where she did talk alot about her movie and comic, but also about her time on BtVS.
Amber was forever gracious and wonderful, she had driven all previous night from LA to get to SLC!
You see she was orginally suppose to be there for both Friday and Saturday, but due to a producer asking to meet her on Friday for a potential pilot, she had to pulled out (which she apologised for). But so as not to disapoint fans she drove ALL night with her mother (about a 10 hour drive) to get there the next day. So while she was obviously tired, she remained cheerful, funny and beautiful and did not disapoint anybody!
I didn't manage to get to the comic book talk, but I did get to see her talk about "Chance".
She told a wonderful story. Some parts funny (for whoever has already heard her talk about her managing to get James Masters in a dress and lipstick in her movie, will know what I mean). And some parts serious. (She actively dislikes how the studios have taken over the film festival circuit and thus block one of the few means for young artists have to show their work).
She also told many interesting facts. Her 3 favorite Buffy episodes are "Hush", "Restless" and "Once More, With Feeling" and she choose not to reprise Tara for "Conversations With Dead People" because she did not want to play Tara as a baddie and thus hurt her fans (I love her more now because of that comment
) and she choose to to be in the opening credits after being offered due to having 2 or 3 other projects going at the time and didn't want to be tied down to the one show. And more importantly somebody asked her was she uncomfortable playing Tara and she said no! who wouldn't want to kiss a hot girl!!!! And then she said she was very very supportive of GLBT right and a person should be allowed to love the person they love regardless of whether they are man or women.
Gosh, I love her so.
She is natural and charming and has none of that horrid BS that so dominates Hollywood these days (nudge nudge SMG). She LOVES her fans, and gosh I love her! (please please somebody pass me the drool bucket).
I am so kicking myself for not bringing my camera now to take photos. But Amber graciously signed my OMWF album cover for me as well as a postcard for a friend that could not make it. She also said I was funny (actually I was making silly jokes because I was so nervous, but that was still really really sweet!)
Plus the best thing of the night!
She hugged me!
I almost fainted in the pure joy of the moment! She also recognised my accent (many people mistake it) and we even shared a joke!Oh Amber Benson rocks my world and she has made my week... no month... no YEAR!
I went skiing yesterday and all I could think about on the slopes was Amber hugged me! I hurt my shoulder when I sliped on a corner when skiing, yet all I could still think about was Amber hugging me!
And do you know the weirdest thing? I am now even a bigger W/T shipper now. I just did not fully grasp the pure joy that is W/T until I meet Amber in person. Now I know.
Some very interesting comments in here.
. Really it's so refreshing to hear how down to earth (not letting fame go to her head) she is, and I so
She's incredible isn't she
I'm so curious to know what that possible pilot discussion was about. Kittens keep your ears to the ground for future dishing and swaping of information!!
