Postby BytrSuite » Wed Dec 11, 2002 11:09 pm

This is the thread for general episode discussion of Willow and Tara, ONLY. Seasons 4 through 6. Nothing before "Hush" and nothing after Tara says, "That's the best part."

We have plenty of threads where you can post your favorite moments and stuff. You can find a wonderfully comprehensive list here.

So, Willow and Tara only. They are alive, together and happy here.

Being a bit (?) of a romantic I have to remember the scene in The Gift when Tara finally gets her memories back. Heartbreaking angst and love all at the same time.

Nothing before "Hush" and nothing after Tara says, "That's the best part." ? That's exactly how my watching of Buffy begins and ends! I love that first scene when we very first see Tara in "Hush", the shy girl with the lightening bolt marked out in her hair! Her facial expressions and her desperate need to communicate and then with the hesitation and clamming up. Sigh!!! How she grew from that beginning to the 'vixen' in season 5 and the even sexier season 6 Tara.

That scene in HUSH...

Postby Spice Faerie » Tue Dec 17, 2002 6:15 pm

Dudes, and speaking of HUSH, who can forget that adorable scene at the end where Tara's oh so cute and studdery and was trying to explain why she was looking for Willow and says that Willow is really powerful and Willow says, "I'm definitely nothing special" and Tara's like, "No, you are..." That's SUCH a great scene. It's hot without really even trying, ya know? I'm such a sap. I totally gush every time.

My favourite Willow and Tara moment is from the Body from season five when Willow is drunk on Egg Nog and Tara is explaining that Willow loves having her tummy rubbed, and starts going on about how she's explaining to much.

Tara nodded in agreement "She has magic fingers." TheWisdom of War, Chris Golden

Well, deciding one single moment for my absolute favorite is impossible, but I know the part in "The Real Me" where they're decorating their apartment is wonderful. It might be the whole "homey-ness" of it, or it cute reassurances from Willow, it might be because I like decorating anyways, maybe it's the hug and beautiful smile at the end... In any case, I find it really cute.

Also, like you guys mentioned, the end of "The Gift" is so gut-wrenching and beautiful... I think the scene where the Scoobs officially "adopt" Tara in "Family" is both pivotal to her story and cute. Lacks in the smoochies department though. Luckily we have the scene at the Bronze later :)

:love That's one of my favorites too. Willow's smile when Tara says, "No, you are..." is just priceless. They so love each other. :love

Another of my favorite W/T moments is at the beginning of "Family" when Tara tells Willow the bedtime story. Could they possibly be any cuter?

I love the gradual build up of their relationship. They started as friends who were attracted to one another. I always felt that Willow was at least subcounsciously attracted to Tara in "Hush". And the two actresses have such fantastic chemistry! With only a look you could see the love. Great stuff!

It was soooooooooo romantic. I always hate in movies when two folks meet and fall into bed together. Bah. I prefer to see remance though granted there's a place for lust, I'm just a silly romantic at heart.

Angel1273: You are so right about how the slow progression can be really sexy. It's so boring to me when one character just meets another one and starts hitting on them with no prelude. :yawn It's much more fun to see them getting together slowly than just have one big crisis and blam they are in bed. :yawn There was a movie with Bruce Willow where he and Sara Jessica Parker just seem to jump into be after he saves her without prelude. Granted they knew each other for a few days but as coworkers with little hint of attraction. That's just sex. I prefer romance.

As much as I hate what happens in Season 6, it does have one of my favourite W/T moments. Tara's song to Willow was beautiful; Amber's voice is gorgeous, just like the rest of her. And her dancing is very nice too.

And I don't know why Alyson was so worried about having to sing. I thought she sounded pretty good.

Hmm, well, i could go on and on all night about all their moments that make me sigh and "awww", but one that is guaranteed to make me smile every time is the end of New Moon Rising.

Tara: No, I-I understand. You have to be with the person you l-love.

Willow: (smiles) I am.

Awww!

And the "i am you know" "What?" "Yours" Always makes me sniffly.

But if i had to choose a favourite Tara moment, it would have to be a certain part of OMWF, when Tara sings to Willow and she says; But now i'm bathed in light, something just isn't right. And then she smiles, but it's a sexy, vixeny, playful, loving, innocent smile all at the same time. It just makes me sigh.... *sighs*

As for Willow, the extra flamey candle always brings a smile to my face.

I'd like to take a moment to talk about something that's happened lately. I'm also in love. It's a very special thing and I'm really rather proud of it. Yes, I'm in love with my own breasts. I feel no personal shame about this; in fact, I think this is the one. It's going to last. ~ Ruth

I hadn't seen a lot of the end of Season 6, but have managed to download some clips from the internet now, and one of my favourite scenes is now in "Entropy" (I think!) where Willow asks Tara out for coffee...

In the whole scene, Tara is so confident and sexy, I think I might swoon a little bit.

"So, this is becoming kind of a regular thing... you & me after class..."

Is it just me or is AB's accent a little bit more noticeable on that last word?

"Under your spell" from OMWF

Postby johnluvswillandtara » Fri Jan 03, 2003 5:51 pm

Firstly a big thankyou to Xita for being so patient & for helping me get set up.Now my comment/question concerns Tara's gorgeous love song to Willow in OMWF-is she singing from her heart or from under the influence of the "forgetting" spell Will had cast on her the night before? After having asked around,i'm becoming more convinced that she WAS singing from her heart.Any thoughts?:heart

Re: "Under your spell" from OMWF

Postby tommo » Fri Jan 03, 2003 6:01 pm

Of course she was singing from the heart. The spell Willow cast on her only made her forget the argument and worries she had about Willow's use of magicks. It didn't enhance or increase the deep seated love she has for Willow in any way. So her song in OMWF was entirely based on what was in her heart for Willow. Absolutely.

I'll always love how Willow says she is willing to take care of brain-sucked Tara for however long even if she(Tara) never gets better. She is literally vowing "to love, honor and keep Tara for better, or for worse, for richer, or for poorer and in sickness and in health."

I absolutely love that bathed in light scene too Ginner WTluv. I love the whole song but that part sums up so well how I always have and always will feel about Tara ...... bathed in light and able to so effortlessly bring out the light in others. The love that Tara expressed for Willow in 'I'm Under Your Spell' DEFINITELY came from the heart :love and not the forgetting spell and is the most memorable and romantic scene for me between W/T (hope we're helping to sway you in the right direction johnluvswillandtara :grin )

TYG/WAY Good things happen . . .

Postby Gatito Grande » Sun Jan 05, 2003 2:57 pm

. . . when Faith's around!

Please excuse this teeny (tinkerbell-light) off-topic observation, but I just needed to share---

"This Year's Girl" and "Who are You" are faboo eps, by any standard, but especially in terms of WT development. From patrolling together (Willow: "She's like a cleavagey Slut Bomb: 'Oooh, check me out! I'm Wicked Cool! I'm Five by Five!'" Tara: "Five what by five what?" Love it!), to "I am, you know . . . . Yours" to the Flaming Oh! So much to love . . . :heart

After these two eps, there's No Way anybody can see Willow and Tara as "just friends!" :grin

Anyway, my OT observation: I was watching "WAY" for the umpteenth time the other day (on tape), when I notice something I *never* saw before: (SMG as) Faith's dancing w/ a woman! :party

Am I like the, duh, last to notice this?! In that mass of bodies Faith is writhing with at The Bronze, there's a blonde in a gray striped sweater who is definitely female. Faith sexily rests her arm on "Gray Sweater's" shoulder and neck while shaking her groove thang. :eyebrow

They obviously shot this to be subtle though: the woman has *short* hair, and is only seen (dancing) from the rear. You can also see this woman several times in the subsequent scene w/ Willow and Tara (she's by the pool table).

When Faith is eyeing Tara eye Willow, it's just more evidence that it takes one to know one, eh? :lol

Just another little fun facet of these great eps . . .

GG Believe it or not, the dissertation's almost finished---see y'all (more often) soon! Out

This is my first time w/ the new board fonts, etc. Hope I'm using it right!

ETA: I guess I am . . . now.

I am sure you aren't the last to notice it, but unfortunately not the first either. I was feeling kind of proud to have noticed that all on my own only to have the freaky (sub)text professors of this board quickly deflate my balloon. Bleh, by the time I watched an episode they would have been taken apart scene by scene and look by look and touch by touch already :happy (when it came to WT and other signs of gayness I mean, I am sure there are many Xander/Anya scenes left that can be analyzed. :punch ).

Anyway, when I think back on it, WAY is one of my all time favourite episodes, WT-wise (the only wise left, heh). Every little scene in every episode they have together means something special, but this episode has so many memorable moments and it is one of the last I watched utterly unspoiled which in this case I am very grateful for. The Flaming O Spell is one of the best surprises I've gotten and one of the sexiest scenes I've ever seen on tv. :heart

Yes indeed, everytime I was watch it has me all a Fluster. It so sensual and so perfect to the whole W/T relationship on screen, leaving your imagination to work wonders with what happens off screen.

Hee, which was easy, seeing as what one might imagine happening off screen had just happened on screen. :p

Just wanted to add that the only other scenes I could even consider as a rival to the Flaming O Spell as sexiest scene ever would be WT scenes as well.

I have been reminiscing a bit about Hush, about Willow and Tara in Hush that is. I don't remember exactly how long it's been since I first saw it (I know it was before I became a WT fan and a member of this board). I've said this before but I do remember not liking Tara when I first saw this episode. This really had nothing to do with Tara herself. Willow was my favourite character and I enjoyed her growing magical abilities. I resented it that she needed a total stranger to move that damned machine. I interpreted it as Tara being a more powerful witch and I didn't like it. I was jealous for Willow's sake. Dork. It blinded me to the amazing chemistry between them in that scene. It blinded me to Tara's previous bravery in going over to Willow's room alone when those murdering freaks were about, and I must have been comatose when they were giggling at each other like love struck teenagers to not see the immediate mutual affection that was present.

I've never commented on Willow's bravery though. Willow opened her door not knowing whether whoever or whatever was on the other side of the door was going to rip her heart out. She did it anyway and the person on the other side of the door did capture her heart, but in a good way, heh.

It may not have been the intend for them to fall in love when Tara was introduced, but more often than not things happen that we have no control over, even in fiction apparently, like the wonderful acting abilities of Amber and Aly and the chemistry they share making words and directions on paper come to live in a totally different than expected. Willow and Tara are really meant to be and I'll never get tired of looking at them or talking about them (even if it is to say the same things I have said before, heh heh) and that is not what I ever could have imagined when I first watched Hush.

I only watched "Hush" after seeing some of the later episodes and was amazed at how strong the connection is between W & T so early on. It's a fantastic episode, too, independently of the W/T stuff.

I have to say, Season 4 was my favourite Season of Buffy. I know a lot of people don't agree, but I just enjoyed the interaction between Willow & Tara as they got to know each other. "Hush" and "Restless" were great eps for the W/T content, and overall. Season 6 - well, let's not go there. I quite liked Season 5, but I wish they'd developed Tara more. They didn't really know what to do with her for the last few eps and I think that influenced the mindsucking as much as wanting Willow to use dark majicks, or setting up the final battle with Glory, etc.
