Okay, back to the important things in this life. Willow and Tara kissing. I am curious to know what people's favourite WT kiss is. I could put it in a poll, but I also like to know the *why* and maybe discuss the techniques employed by the gorgeous and talented actresses Amber Benson and Alyson Hannigan.



In order of appearance:



The Comfort Kiss (S5E16): The first onscreen WT kiss, a kiss of comfort, but also verrrry sexy, and hey: spitstring.



The Good Morning Kiss (S6E1): The first kiss on UPN, very coupley, very casual, very sweet.



The Turn Me On Kiss (S6E6): Too bad the episode title did not translate itself into an uncensored lesbian gay type love fest, but this episode did give us the first on screen public kiss.



The Make Up/Out Kiss (S6E18): Tara in leather. 12.4 seconds and you know it did not end there.



The After Sex Kiss (S6E19): Tara with the just been fucked hair, Willow growling and being all freckly and that Tara tongue that slips in by accident.



The other After Sex Kiss (S6E19): The second public onscreen kiss, the first in front of some scoobies. They had sex all evening/night and morning and they are still horny, bless em.



The Yes Ma'am Kiss (S6E19): Full body chest to chest, belly to belly kiss. Brief, but extra sweet due to the aforementioned full on body contact.



There. Feel free to discuss every aspect of these kisses but you only get to pick one to take with you to that famous desert island (no, not the one from the chat thread, but the one you normally get to bring three things to, well this time, you only get to bring one WT kiss, because I am a bastard that way.)



Oh the TR near kiss gets a more than honorary mention for being the hottest non kiss ever, beating every actual (non WT) lip lock I ever did see.

The make-up kiss was the sexiest kiss for me, because there was so much urgency there and they're so into it and grr grr inhaling each other. Plus leather Tara all leaning into and over Willow is very *whew* (len fans himself)



However, nothing in the universe is as sexy, overall, as the Yes Maam scene. Tara looks yummy, Willow is naughty, the jeans tug, Tara heading into Williw pelvis first, the full body contact. (len fans himself some more. drinks some water. shifts in his seat a bit.*ahem*)



The kiss itself loses a weee bit, because it's a bit far away and there's some hair obscurage. but overall...yum. Nothing better.

I feel that was the real ending of ME rapresentation of W/T love, with some smoochies in seeing red added like a side-sell gift.

Then it's another story.

Garfield, you task master you! Choose ONE kiss as you're favourite. Well obviously I had to go away and re-watch them a bunch of times. Let me tell you that was hard. Then of course once I'd narrowed down my list I had to re-watch again to check which one I thought was my favourite. I'm doing some serious work here.



Anyway I seem to be going away from the concensus here. My favourite kiss remains to be the kiss from The Body. Probably for similar reasons if I'd picked the kiss from Entropy. (What, this isn't cheating. I'm not trying to pick two I'm just comparing.) The kiss was just needed, on a gut level.



The reason the kiss from the body is my fave is that for me that kiss represents the W/T relationship so well. Look all the way back to NMR and the scene in Tara's dorm room when Willow's not sure who to choose. Even though her heart's breaking Tara has a physical need to support Willow. You see it when Willow starts to crack and Tara moves towards her. Physically she needs to be near her, needs to comfort her. And Willow needs this from Tara as is demonstrated when she lunges into a hug with Tara.



I get that same initial feeling that made me fall for the couple in the first place. They are meant to be together. And while they are talking and miscommunicating their bodies just know, hey that's what I want.



Wow, can I ramble. So back to the kissing. Tara kisses Will because she needs to. She needs to calm and comfort her lover, at a time when her heart is also in need. Willow comes first. And Willow needs Tara, that's what is going to get Willow through this. Nothing else, just her love for Tara.



So it's my favourite so there. Man, this is supposed to be a fun, frivolous thread and I just had to go and bring in the serious. Sorry, I just had something I wanted to say. But now you can all tell me to and get back to the scheduled fun.

Regarding complete sexiness onscreen, and actual kissage merit - I'm going to go with the First After Sex Kiss. Tara with the JBF hair, Willow all snuggled into her crotch, the laziness of the kiss, the sensuality, the nonverbal communication being passed and received between them...It was amazing and sexy and beautiful and I loved it. To me, it was the best actual kiss. The position they were in...the lighting in the scene...it was earthy and real and I could practically smell their musk.

However, the Yes Maam Kiss is a totally different story. It was naughty - the jeans tug, the drawl, the power play, the wickedness. RRRRRRRooowwwwlllll! The settup, action and dialogue was much better, but the kiss itself was not as good as the FASK (First After Sex Kiss). Can we have two categories? If we're having the best kiss oscars, we need more categories than just the best kiss!!! Who made up these dumb rules, anyways? This can be the best lead-up to a kiss, and the FASK can be the best actual kiss.
