hey all,

my brother and i went over to dark delicacies today to get a few things signed by amber and one other author (there were 4 there in total). it was really crowded and loud! the line for amber was really long - i felt kinda sorry for all the other writers there. amber was really nice to everyone and she took pictures with whoever wanted and signed anything and everything people put in front of her. people had books, cd's, posters, graphic novels, dvd's, action figures, just everything - and she signed it all. she took the time to talk to everyone and personalize all the autographs.

i have to mention this, because both my brother and i commented on it. amber seemed so relaxed and happy today. you know, we were at paleyfest, and she seemed (although gracious and stuff) just not entirely into it, kind of uncomfortable. well, she and charisma carpenter both. maybe that's because she got interrupted so much everytime she tried to speak, who knows? but today, she was smiling and laughing and super nice to everyone. maybe part of that is cause she wasn't in a "stage-y" set-up and this was about just her work, just her fans? i don't know.

anyway, i was able to snap a few pics - sorry, my brother and i were in them - and i'll post them on photobucket later. i couldn't get any single shots, there were always people crowding around her!

well, that's the scoop from sunny and warm southern california.

Hey, I was there, too! I wish I had known, we could've said a friendly hello.

Anyhow, yes, I agree with you; she looked totally relaxed and adorable in her soft, worn-in jeans and New Balance sneaks. She signed my OMWF poster and said she was a sci-fi nerd. It took her a second to remember me (she said I was dressed so girlie - hee), but seriously... totally unbelievable that she knew my name and commented on the musical birthday gift I got her a few months ago. She really is something special, and will always make my heart go pitter pat.

Every time I show up to something Buffy-like and see the throes of people there (there was a 12 year old kid there who knew like, quotes), I can't help but say to myself, "Never underestimate the power of the Slayer..."

that would have been nice to meet you! ok, i have to ask... i saw a young woman unroll a OMWF poster and amber said "why don't i sign on aly" or something pretty close to that... was that you? or were you the young woman who came in pretty late and had the poster signed? just curious....

i was there early, like at 5:00. and i actually got down on one knee in front of amber. that was me; suave and gentlemanly.

I'm in complete agreement. One of the things that really made me a fan of Amber, after the initial "OMG isn't "Tara" cute, I want one of those" phase.. ..it was finding out what a down to earth person Amber herself is. Her love of her work, her appreciation of her fans and the fact she has the guts to follow her own path with her work in so many different areas and genres and hasn't sold herself out to Hollywood ideals. And that's all without even mentioning how hot she is!! Hey....what's not to love?!?
