Just when you think Amber Benson can't get more awesome, she get's awesome-er!

In her blog, as well as twitter, she say's she'll be signing and selling "Checkpoint Tara" dolls to raise money for the Los Angeles foodbanks. They are $100 a piece.

I just wanted to repost her efforts because I think what she's doing is wonderful and if this helps getting more people to buy Tara and essentially helping hundreds of hungry people then all the better!

I so want that signed Tara doll!....i'm off to look for all the spare change in my house!

Oh, I wish I had money to help Amber feed the poor... The thing is that I have no cent left.

Amber is so amazing, being worried with the poor and so. That's another reason for being her fan: she isn't worried only about her own life, she care about the world.
And that Tara doll is so cute... I want one!!

Triangle Tara thanked me personally today by arriving on my doorstep all boxed up and both signed and personalized by her physical projection into the real world whom we all know and love by the name of Amber.
Amber also wrote me a note wishing me good luck on my novel which I am finishing the last chapter on and which she is both my muse and the model for my chanteuse heroine.
That, in this regeneration, is what the holidays are all about; helping those less fortunate than myself and being grateful for what I do have which allows me to help those who need the neccesities which we take for granted.

Sometimes, well, there are only so many terms in the English language, you end up using a word or phrase ebcause it fits.
And, let's be honest, the jokes you tell and the restaurants you like and et cetera aren't born in anybody.

Pretty nice, as always. I do have one minor disagreement; it is not too bad here in the midwest if you are gay. Well, I should say here in Iowa, where gays can actually marry. I work with two folk who are both married, one a woman married in CA to her partnet and moved here, and the second a man who married his partner, and no one thinks twice about it. Actuallky, we just don't even think about it at all; just a couple of more couples who got married. :-)

One of the things I admire most about Amber is her complete honesty and complete lack of spreading the bullshit.
She speaks her mind and tells it straight up directly making the conscious choice to be to thine own self be true.
Amber and a professional photographer doing the whole hair and make-up thing is wow, just wow.
Having just finished my own novel, I know exactly about characters not doing what you want them to do in how their story ends up.
Yay for a fourth novel in the Death's daughter trilogy, though.
Douglas Adams would have heartily approved.

Greetings!

Despite my reservations about feeding slavish devotion to the cult of celebrity... I noticed a few items of interest on the now-public Con schedule that I thought I should share:

1. Amber Benson will be on a writing panel (something about borrowing existing world mythology for your own worlds) on Thurs 10:30-11:30 in 24ABC.

2. Anthony Stewart Head will be on a panel (re: something called Merlin) on Sunday 11:45-12:45 in 6BCF.

3. There is a legal/sanctioned OMWF singalong in Ballroom 20 on Sun 4-5pm (very end of the Con).

I imagine that there is a reasonable chance that one or both of the celebrity-types mentioned may show up at #3. This is not insider info- just conjecture... Amber is early in the Con, so she may well have gone back up north by then.

Comic Con has been sold out for months... but just so you know, people return their badges for refunds and they get officially resold. At today's staff mtg they told us that there were Sunday badges for sale on the Con site this afternoon.

*Oh, and the ones that go on eBay (ie, scalped)? They get canceled- you could end up waiting in that big ol' line, get to the end, and get a "sorry, no good". Don't risk it. We've caught a bunch of um already.

FYI for Anthony Head, Merlin is an original show on the Scy/Fy channel based, you guessed it, on the King Arthur/Merlin legend/myth but with Merlin as the main character. Anthony plays Uther Pendragon Arthur's father.

Not a bad show either.

So, Boston Comic Con might be over, but I wanted to let people know that Amber is coming back for Wizard World New England Convention which is going to be in Boston October 15-17 at Hynes Convention Center.

Anyone potentially interested in going? There's a whole flock of Buffy cast members going! Amber Benson, Nick Brendon, Charisma Carpenter, Clare Kramer, Mercedes McNab, and James Marsters will all be there! =D I was definitely sold after Amber and James, but the others are a really nice plus too.

There's an Among the Ghosts signing in San Diego September 19th at Mysterious Galaxy.

Also, according to Christopher Golden, "there will be a signing with Amber Benson, Tom Sniegoski and I will be signing at Dark Delicacies in Burbank, CA on Thursday, 9/30, at 7pm." I can't find a mention of this on the Dark Delicacies site yet, nor has Amber tweeted about it yet.
