Aly's new film

Postby willowtaralover » Wed Aug 10, 2011 10:58 am

According to IMDB there's going to be an official fourth 'American Pie' film with the original cast, or most of them, signed up including Alyson. I've posted the IMDB link below where there's also a facebook page link.

There's a couple threads at Alyson Hannigan Appreciation Society forum, under the Movie Roles sub-forum, with links to several articles and interviews.

The Hollywood Reporter claims Aly will make "about $3 million" for American Reunion. On the low end, Tara Reid is supposedly making $250,000.

I find such articles unseemly. In this current enviroment, I hate to read a story like that- for one, that means Aly will make for 2 months work what it would currently take me 30 years to make. And she won't work as hard as I do. But hey, that's Hollywood- but I do feel that producers risk blow-back on article such as this since it shows how out of whack Hollywood salaries are with the rest of the world. And I am an Aly fan, don't get me wrong. :-)

Dana5140- I totally get what you're saying...I work like a dog and it's still tough making ends meet, but yeah that's Hollywood. For what Aly makes in a month on HIMYM...I could retire, lol. Anyway, I think what it really shows is the discrepancy between men and women. I understand that it's the boys that carry the movie, get more screen time yadda, yadda, but Aly is clearly the bigger star and should at least get equal pay. There will be people that go see the movie just for her. Plus, I'm sure they'll hype it during HIMYM and use her popularity to boost ticket sales.

What's really disgraceful is how little the cast of HIMYM makes...comparatively speaking. I read that they make about $120,000/episode where as Ashton Kutcher is making $720,000. I mean this guy isn't even famous for his work, he's famous for who he married. He also stumbled into a show heaped in controversy...he should be kissing Charlie Sheen's feet, lol.

Hi Dana and Finey :bigwave

Yes, that is Hollywood. Further more, it always was Hollywood.

Consider the great silent film star John Gilbert. In 1927, when most people were making do with salaries of .25 or .35 cents
an hour, MGM was paying Gilbert $10,000 a week!!!!!!!

I think we could all do pretty well on a salary of what in modern money would be the equivalent of a quarter of a million dollars a week.

Yeah, I don't bemona her the payday- good on her! But I do bemoan the need to publicize it in hard economic times. And truly, I don't care if they pay Sean William Scott and Jason BIggs more than they do Alyson Hannigan; no on forced Aly to sign on, and she will not really have to do much to get paid- though she will certainly do it well. I have relatives who work in Hollywood, and it just kills me to see how out of whack salaries are compared to the rest of the world. And now I sound like an old, and jealous, curmudgeon! :-) If I am honest, I just want someone to pay me 2 million bucks for a couple of months work, and if they do, I bet I will sit there and justify it and say I earned it and deserved it. LOL.

I have no issue at all with what any actor or actress makes, because that money comes directly from the value that they generate. I sit in the lowest income bracket for anything I have to fill up, short of "No Income".

I guess one could say that this is money that doesn't accrue to shareholders, many of which are retirement accounts. Still, acting is one in which the person matters a great deal, unlike many other jobs.
