~Chapter 4~

Anya rushed in and looked over the test, seeing the positive sign. "Am I right? I’m right...right?"
Tara wrapped her arm around Willow’s waist and pulled her closer so that their bodies were pressed tightly together.
"Am I?" Anya asked, getting a little impatient.
"Yes Anya, you’re right..." Willow raised an eyebrow. "But how did you know?"
"I’m lucky," Anya shrugged her shoulders and a big smile appeared on her face. "So? Aren’t you happy?"
Tara smiled softly. "Of course we are happy, just a little in shock...as to how and why this happened."
"Yea," Willow’s eyebrows furrowed and panic rose in her voice. "What if it’s not ours? I mean, what if...what if it’s an evil spawn?"
Tara chuckled and kissed Willow on the forehead. "You’re starting to sound like Anya."
Willow gasped. "What?"
Anya nodded. "Yup, hate to say it, but I said those exact same words to Xander."
"Well...you’re...were, a demon, you have a right to think that," Willow frowned and buried her face in Tara’s neck.
"Can you explain to us how and why?" Tara asked the ex-demon.
Anya nodded and stood there quietly, she jumped a bit when she noticed two sets of eyes on her, waiting. "Oh! You mean now?"
"Yes, now." Willow brought her lips into a tight line, her grip on Tara loosened a bit.
"It’s all got to do with the ring," the other blonde started. "Tara was right a couple months ago, about it giving off energy...as to why it glows."
"The ring did this?" Green eyes went wide.
"No, well yes, argh," Anya slapped her forehead with frustration. "Telling Faith and Buffy this was no problem," she grumbled.
"Faith a-and Buffy know?" Tara’s eyes went wide as well.
Anya bit her lip and scrunched up her face, wincing a bit. "Well...I-"
"Just explain please," Willow whispered, her stomach was starting to do flip flops again, and her head began to swirl.
"The rings glows because Tara’s energy is mingling with yours," Anya began. "Which is why the ring glows, and which is why you can feel it burn. This baby was created by pure love and energy, why question it?"
"Because An, it just isn’t a proper...it’s not how babies are conceived," Willow said. "I like to understand what’s going on, especially if I’m the one pregnant," she said quietly.
"The rings glows while we’re making love, because the energy I’m radiating is going into Willow?" Tara asked.
"Yes," Anya rubbed her eyes and brushed her hair back a bit before letting out a frustrated sigh. "You two are very powerful witches...separately, now imagine what you can do when you’re together...and add the ring. See, Tara, since you’re wearing the ring, all that energy you are conjuring goes into Willow, and like she said, the ring is enchanted."
"So if I were wearing the ring, Tara would be pregnant?" Willow asked.
"I think that’s how it works," Anya smiled and placed her hands on Willow’s shoulders. "Now we can talk about pregnancy!"
Willow groaned and banged her head on Tara’s shoulder. "Not now though."
Tara’s hand cupped Willow’s face and looked deeply into her eyes. "Are you not happy?" she whispered. "I mean, about this?"
Willow’s eyes widened and she moved so Anya’s hands dropped from her shoulders. "No baby, I’m very happy," she took Tara’s other hand and placed it on her stomach. "We’re having a baby, you and me, a baby, we’re going to have a little family, I mean we have that, but we’re going to have a little addition. We made this Tara, we made life...with our love."
Tara closed her eyes and smiled tenderly, tears spilling slowly from them. "Ours," she whispered.
"Yes baby, ours... I am very happy," Willow leaned in and slowly kissed away Tara’s tears, murmuring gentle words to reassure her wife that she was indeed very excited and happy about their new discovery.
Anya cleared her throat. "I guess I’ll be leaving you now."
Willow and Tara shared one last kiss and looked at the ex-demon. "We should talk more about this a little later, yea?" Tara asked.
"Yes, sure," Anya nodded and opened the washroom door. "Oh, when are you two going to tell Hadley?"
Willow looked wide eyed at Tara. "Um...when should we tell her?"
Tara bit her nails a bit, thinking of the most appropriate time to tell their little girl that they were going to have a baby. Of course, she also wanted things to be perfect when Hadley would be notified. "We should make an appointment first, see if everything is good," Tara smiled softly.
Willow nodded in agreement. Letting Hadley know everything, when they know the baby’s well inside her belly - that would be a better option.
~*~*~*~*~
Dawn sat excitedly on Tori’s new bed in her dorm room. "Wow," she looked around the single room. "This is so cool."
Tori finished placing a box of her CD’s and Videos down by her desk and flew onto the bed with Dawn landing beneath her. "Classes don’t start until Thursday, wanna spend the time with me here, until then?"
Dawn smiled and tangled her hands in Tori’s hair, bringing their lips together, sharing a loving kiss. "I don’t think my mom, or Buffy, will go for that," she pulled back, whispering.
Tori groaned and let her weight rest comfortably on Dawn. "I guess that means you have to go home tonight, huh?"
"Yea, mom is home for a while now, so it looks like it’ll just be her and me in that lonely house..." Dawn let the sentence disappear, her eyes and lips were pouting.
"Baby, you know I’d love to spend my time with you at your place, but part of the deal of me getting the single and moving is...is that I actually have to be here."
Dawn sighed and licked her lips when Tori’s lips fell underneath her chin, kissing her skin softly.
"I can make it up to you though," Tori whispered.
Dawn grinned and pulled Tori’s long hair back so she could see her beautiful hazel eyes. "Kiss me," she requested softly.
Lifting herself up on her elbows, Tori searched her girlfriend’s eyes before lowering her head and capturing the taller brunette’s lips in a sweet moan.
Dawn closed her eyes and held Tori tightly against her as they kissed and explored each others mouths.
Tori’s hand travelled up and down Dawn’s arm, making her shiver at each passing contact. Their bodies started to crave what they’d wanted for so long. A small vibration on the desk broke the couple apart.
"You’re phone is vibrating," Dawn sighed. "You should get it."
Tori sat up and tucked her hair behind her ears, smiling lightly, she leaned down and kissed Dawn quickly once more before hopping up off the bed and reaching for her cell. "Hello?"
"Hey Tor, what are you up too?"
"Hey Tara, Dawn and I are just finishing up around here, what’s up?" Tori sat at the edge of her desk and looked over at her girlfriend.
"Nothing, can’t a sister check in with her younger sister?" Tara’s voice sounded with a hint of laughter.
"Sure she can," Tori smiled.
"Plus, I need a favour... Willow and I have something to do tomorrow, we were wondering if you could Hadley-sit."
"Sure Tara, no problem," Tori licked her lips. "What time do you need me there?"
"Around ten in the morning? And if you want, you can take Hadley shopping for school supplies..."
Tori smirked and moved over to the bed with Dawn. "Do you think you and Willow will be that long?"
"Never know, I’ll let you know what’s up later. Thanks Tor."
"Hey no problem, really. I’ll drag Dawn with us tomorrow, I’ll see you around nine, I’ll bring breakfast." Tori spoke and finished up her conversation with her sister before throwing her phone on the end of the bed.
"What did Tara want?" Dawn asked, laying back down on Tori’s single bed.
"Hadley-sit tomorrow," Tort stretched out along side her girlfriend. "Wanna join?"
Dawn nodded and smiled, leaning forward and pressing her lips to Tori’s soft skin on her neck. "Where were we?" she murmured, wrapping an arm around her girlfriend’s waist and pulling her on top of herself.
"We are in my dorm room...all alone," Tori whispered, kissing Dawn with soft gentle pecks. "Whatever shall we do?"
"Mmm," Dawn purred and cupped the other girl’s face in her hands. "I can think of a few things..."
"Tori?" A bang came from outside the door.
Tori screamed into the crook of Dawn’s neck. "Can’t we get a freaking break? All I wanna do is make out with my girlfriend, is that too much??" she sat up and walked towards the door. "What?"
"Whoa, so this is the frustrated Tori we’ve all never seen before," Faith smirked and peered in to see Dawn laying on the bed.
"Faith, what are you doing here?" Tori asked, blushing slightly.
"Thought you’d like a hand with getting things settled in, but looks like you’re doing just fine," Faith chuckled.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about," Tori turned her head away and looked at Dawn, rolling her eyes a bit.
"It’s okay Hazel, I can always leave you two..." Faith walked inside and sat on the edge of the bed. "Of course, B will be up in about fifteen minutes...and somehow I don’t think that’ll even start the satisfaction with you two."
"You can say that again," Dawn sat up and stretched, she caught Faith’s gaze on her. "What? We can’t even have a make out session with someone interrupting us."
"She’s right, Tara just called right before you came," Tori closed her door and walked over to Dawn, sitting behind her. "Why’s Buffy on her way over?"
"I told her to meet me here," Faith shrugged and popped her gum that she was chewing.
"Why?" Dawn asked, laying back in Tori’s embrace.
"Because as older sisters, we want to ruin your life," the dark slayer laughed. "Sheesh, lighten up, we’re about to head out on our first sweep and we came by to see if you wanted to be walked home."
Dawn nodded. "Sure, may as well go home and face mom right?"
"I can drive you home later," Tori frowned as Dawn stood up and found her bag. "Dawn?"
Dawn turned around and smiled. "I know baby, but if we’re Hadley-sitting tomorrow, I think we should get all the rest we can get."
"Oh...okay, you’re right," Tori kissed Dawn softly.
"Oh, and Hazel, you may want to watch how you answer the door next time," Faith twirled a stake in her hand and continued to chew her gum.
~*~*~*~*~
Willow sat back in her chair and ran her fingers through her hair. She was working on some last minute summer courses and she wanted to get them done before college started up again. Her mind was in overdrive though, and she couldn’t concentrate. All she could think of was the baby. Smiling, she placed her hand over her belly and rubbed it softly. "We’re going to take such good care of you," she whispered, pulling her shirt up a bit to show some skin. "And I know you don’t have ears yet to hear me, you can still feel our love for you."
Tara stopped in the hallway, in front of their bedroom door, when she heard Willow’s soft voice. She leaned against the doorframe and a smile curled upon her lips as she watched her wife whisper to her belly - their baby.
"And mama can teach you how to be nice to the horses, cause mommy is still getting used of them," Willow continued. "And your sister Hadley, she can tell you why some Goldfish crackers don’t have smiles or eyes."
"I bet she’s smiling...her soul," Tara whispered, walking slowly inside the room.
Willow looked up, slightly startled by her wife’s entrance. She blushed and pulled her shirt back down over her tummy. "Hey you," she held out her hand and pulled Tara on her lap.
"You’re amazing, you know that?" Tara smiled and kissed the corners of Willow’s mouth. Pulling back, she lifted her wife’s top up and lightly traced a heart on the soft skin. "She’s going to be so beautiful."
"How do we know she’s a girl?" Willow raised an eyebrow, a quirky grin gracing her face.
"Mmm, okay, our baby will be beautiful," Tara whispered, still placing kisses along her wife’s face. "How’s that?"
"As long as the baby’s healthy, I don’t care," Willow smiled and looked down to see Tara’s left hand, simply still and touching her stomach, then she looked up and searched sapphire blues. "Did you want to sing to the baby?"
Tara blushed and put her head down a bit. "I don’t-"
"Your voice is absolutely amazing baby, please?" Willow smiled softly and kissed her softly.
Licking her lips, Tara got up off of Willow’s lap and held out her hand, pulling the redhead off her chair and leading her to the bed. "Okay, I will sing a song, you choose which one," Tara whispered, guiding Willow’s sweater off her body, laying her back on the bed.
Walking to the door, Tara shut it and stripped her own clothes, and got changed into her silky night gown as Willow watched her every movement.
"Sing the one you sing with Hadley," Willow smiled and sighed when Tara’s slid in beside her.
"Okay," Tara leaned over Willow and kissed her long and slow. "I love you."
Willow’s green eyes became a darker shade as she felt every sense alive. "Oh God Tar, I love you too."
"Good," the blonde leaned in again and explored her lover’s mouth thoroughly, letting her tongue tease Willow’s silky walls and tongue.
Gasping, Willow pulled back from her wife and ran her fingers through blonde silky hair. "Goddess, I think I can understand how baby was conceived."
"Really?" Tara whispered, smirking uncontrollably. "I think I know how too."
"Tara," Willow smiled coyly. "I meant-"
Tara kissed Willow again. "I know what you meant, sweetie."
"I feel you inside of me, always, and now I know why," Willow whispered in awe.
Tara moved down Willow’s body and began to pepper kisses along her flat stomach. "Hey sweet baby," she whispered to the belly. "Mama here," she giggled and felt Willow run her fingers through her hair, looking up through long lashes, she saw Willow look back at her with the most loving look. "Mommy wants me to sing you a song, and I think you’ll love this song. Your soul can dance to it."
Willow felt tears roll down her cheeks as she felt her whole body explode with love for this woman. It always seemed to surprise her, how overwhelming it was so have so much love for one person. Tara was her life. Tara was her world. There was not one thing she would not do for her wife. She heard the lyrics of the song echo through her ears as Tara’s head rested on her stomach.
I give you my destiny. I’m giving you all of me. I want your symphony, Singing in all that I am At the top of my lungs, I’m giving it back
Tara closed her eyes and whispered the rest of the song to their unborn baby, falling into a light sleep while her wife’s hands played with her hair and hummed softly along with her.
Outside their bedroom door, Hadley had her ear pressed as she smiled when her parents singing voices echoed through her little mind. Her tiny hand was planted against the door as if she were trying to reach inside, she smiled and closed her eyes.
Backing away from the bedroom door, Hadley walked back to her bedroom and tucked herself in her Auntie’s bed. "Night mama, night mommy, night Brady, night Aunt Buffy, night Aunt Faith..." she went on through her whole family. Finally, she prayed to the Goddess again for her one and last dream - baby brother or sister.
"Oh! And please keep Aunt Tori company and safe," she whispered to the night sky before closing her eyes and snuggling into Tori’s blankets.
