Feedback replies for chapter seven. Sorry for making everyone wait so long. I've had a sicky-poo couple of weeks.

Jeanne,
You know…? I always love seeing the things that make you say: “Aww”
Quote:
Okay, proper proper feedback now, not just, me re-telling you everything that happened and saying aww

but I enjoyed that so much!
Okay, so there were a lot of things you thought were cute…but I can see Logan and her inability to entertain a functional memory for dates and events (getting Spencer from school) was not one of them?

That was pretty irresponsible of her. I can’t see Tara putting up with much more of Logan’s behavior…in fact I feel an ultimatum coming on…either Logan gets her act together or she stays the heck away. Hehe ultimatums are fun.
Thank you, sweetie. I always love reading what you have to say.

Incredible! Leave it to Anya to throw a wrench in the works, though.
Tara lying awake that night, wondering if she should call or not...perfect!
And Willow with Spencer kinda makes my heart melt.
Thank you! I’m glad you’re liking the story, and Spencer.

Arwen,Thank you!

I like how slowly they're moving toward the inevitable. This isn't two hormonal teenagers jumping into something too quickly. It's two adults with histories and insecurities and priorities, and they're being careful to take their time. Excellent update.
Exactly. Thank you for reading.

AlysonGoddess,Thank you so much for the feedback. I’m so glad you’re still enjoying the story! And yeah, Anya really needs to keep that mouth closed sometimes.

CandleshoeQuote:
made me cheer out loud. I had hoped that Tara's night-time frustration might lead to smut, but you very delicately removed my mind from the gutter and gave me what I really needed!
Cheering outloud is always a welcome event. Please feel free to do it often.

Seriously though, I love the fact that Tara was lying awake deliberating 'the call' How many times has that happened to us all?!
I know it has happened to me many times. Thanks for leaving feedback!

GayNowQuote:
I'm glad Tara took the leap of faith and called Willow. We're not going to get to the next update just to find out that it was a dream, are we? Cuz that would be cruel and unusual punishment.
Nope….I think that would be considered cruel and unusual punishment. Hehe

The Rose24Quote:
Re: Anya. Is Willow a player?
How funny. I actually had that written on the rough draft version of the update, but I deleted it because I didn’t think Tara would ever actually say that.
********************************************************************
Ces,Thank you so much for your very detailed feedback. Heehee And I like the way you snuck that little bit about Logan in there at the end. I thought you were actually going to make it through to the end without mentioning (she who shall not be named?

)
I think you’re right about Willow. She definitely deserves to have a little fun after all the “slaving” she’s done. *smile*

Irene73Quote:
OMG Emms, that's what my son calls Melanie (my daughter - his big sister). When he was younger, he couldn't pronounce her name. What a lovely coincidence!!
Hehe, that is a coincidence. Angelina calls me Nauny, because when she was first learning to say my name I tried everything to get her to call me Auntie (because I thought it would be funny to be called Auntie Em)

but it never took and I ended up being Nauny.

You’re welcome for the shiver. I’m glad I could be of service. Hehe. Thank you for reading and leaving feedback!

Sally,Quote:
Yay, a date! Good for Tara for calling. It being 12:30am is all the more endearing, no matter if Willow was asleep or not. I love the pacing of this story. LOVE IT. I am always so happy when you update it, Emmy, and with the week I had, I needed to read something sweet and lovely.
Aww Sally that’s so sweet! You being one of my favorite authors makes what you said mean that much more. Thank you.
Quote:
Speaking of lovely, it's lovely that Willow has such a caring instinct about her that she puts a blanket on Spencer when he's asleep on the floor. It made me remember the previous chapter about Logan and how she manipulated Tara, and how if it were Logan in this situation a caring gesture might be calculated to impress Tara, but Willow does it because she cares about Spencer without any thought of impressing Tara. (Lesbians, dude, there were no pronouns that would have worked in that sentence, heh.)
You are exactly right. It just goes to show how two people can see something in completely the opposite way.
Quote:
I'm also glad that Tara won't take a job with Willow - that would really change the flavor and setting of this story, I think, and I love how it is.
I couldn’t agree more. Thank you.

Quote:
Emms, if I chained you to your desk would you write nothing but You Make Me Smile for days on end like the Kathy Bates character in Misery? (Just kidding, of course, no need to call the FBI.)
Well…you don’t have to chain me to my desk…but it might help. Hehehe. Perhaps I will write nothing but YMMS and dedicate every update to you.

Oh and, the song makes a lot of sense. I can see Tara singing that one, too. Thank you, sweetie.

JustSkipItQuote:
A very cute update. Ok, they aren't kissing yet but they're definitely moving forward. Logan is an astounding schmuck! I really get kind of peeved at people who hurt kids in the process of their having their heads up somewhere it shouldn't be. Sounds like she "forgets" to pick up Spencer a lot. Arrggghhh. Willow covering Spencer up was very cute. They are progressing nicely and I'm really glad Tara called. Well done.
Thank you. Logan is a astounding schmuck?

I like that. You’re right, she is.

Amy,I’m so glad you’re still diggin’ the story. Thank you for leaving a few kind words.

Paul,Quote:
Sheesh! Y'know you're on a popular story when you blink, procrastinate a little, and next thing you know, you're lagging at the rear on the feedback front.
I must admit a shameful fact, Emms; I didn't immediately twig to the receptionist being Anya. Shame, shame, shame. But I gotta say, 'Gay of the Day'? Fantastic!

Quote:
Hmm, she tries to keep her away from the places that Anya is likely to encounter people? And yet, Anya's working at reception? somehow, I think that plan of Will's has hit a snag somewhere.
Well…there were extenuating circumstances…she’d given Phylis the day off, remember? Anya must have been the only one available to work the front desk. Hehe
Quote:
But boo-hiss for the fears Anya put in Tara's head. Is it just me, or was Anya talking out of her arse? I got the impression that Willow hadn't been much for relationships previously, even the strictly sexual one-night-stand types. Did I miss something?
Yeah. She’s totally had a lot of one-night-stand types. it’s relationships she hasn’t had any of.
Quote:
The 'oaf' scene was fun too, but the computer nerd in me must frown, I'm afraid. Was that computer's case opened up? Because otherwise, you won't see the motherboard. Not that it matters, I'm just being pedantic
Well that little flub is mostly because I don’t know anything about technology. But in my defense…I was kinda shooting for the figurative use of the word “motherboard”

Quote:
Ack! Logan! You right pillock! How could you forget to pick up your own kid! She's really not doing herself any favors, is she? If she keeps this sorta crap up, Spencer might grow up hating her.
Hehe. I couldn’t agree more.
Quote:
The scene of Spencer sleeping in his contorted position on the floor, and Willow draping the blanket over him was so very well realized, Emms. I really like these small touches you add that bring your stories to glorious Technicolor life.
Thank you.

Quote:
Finally ... yay! Tara bit the bullet and they're officially going on a date! I'd leap out of my seat and dance excitedly, but my precious dignity won't allow it. Oh, all right, I'm just afraid I'd trip and impale myself on one of my replica swords.
Hehe. We can’t have you impaling yourself. Thanks for the feedback, Paul!
**************************************************************
sacinemaThank you so much for leaving feedback. I’m glad you’re liking the story.
Quote:
This story is so cute, everybody is so cute - except Logan. You can't do things like she did to a Kid without serious consequences in the end. Once she dissappointed him enough he might refuse to see her ever again. If that's what she want's she might get it sooner than she expects it.
Yeah, Logan’s a pretty effective antagonist.
Chris suggested earlier that she should be beaten with a rubber chicken. I agree with him. Hehehe
**************************************************************
wattyQuote:
For a moment I thought, is Tara so insecure that she believes Anya word for word and think that Willow has her pick of girlfriends? The instant association to Logan is alarming, though not surprising since a) Logan is Tara's most recent frame of reference when it comes to relationships and b) she has to think about Spencer's welfare first and foremost.
I definitely agree that it wasn’t surprising. Especially if Logan has been Tara’s
only frame of reference. I can see Tara having questions though…which will probably come up in the immediate future. I don’t see it being a big roadblock to their relationship though…and it helps that they have been nothing but honest with each other.
Quote:
How sweet of Willow, to take Tara to Spencer's school when Logan dropped the ball; and of course Tara was able to witness how Willow cared for Spencer ... should be clear in her mind that Willow is not Logan version 2.
Oh I’m sure she realizes that.
Quote:
Lovely of Tara to call Willow up in the middle of the night. Isn't it funny how if it's someone you don't like calling you up at that hour you'd snip at them, but if it's the woman of your dreams you don't care what time it is? Very nice.
Hehe. Very true, Watty…very true.

Willow WatcherYay for dates! And yay for you! Thank you for reading and leaving feedback!

Irene,Quote:
Hey, with all these wonderful fics you got going, a girl can easily forget whether or not she has left fb. Especially when you've been an updating maniac...(I wonder what will happen next in Niobe's Silence ).
I can see how that can happen, sweetie…but do we have to talk about Niobe’s Silence? That story has been plaguing me for months and months…I seem to have hit a roadblock with it. Grrr.

Quote:
Anya needs to shut her pie hole! I don't care if Willow is in the running for 'Lesbian Pimp of the Year', it is not Any'a responsibility to divulge any information about Willow to anyone. What Anya needs is for someone to give her a swift kick in the ....okay, I'm done ranting, so how was your weekend Emms?
I think Anya better mind her P’s and Q’s and learn to keep her mouth shut or else an angry Irene might stomp down there in a huff and shut it for her. Hehe am I right?

Quote:
Logan, Logan...what are we going to do with Logan Emms? I cannot believe she forgot to pick-up her son from school! That just shows how immature and irresponsible she is. I felt embarresed for Tara. Why? Because now Willow knows what kind of person Tara used to date. On the plus side, Tara dumped Logan, giving Willow and inkling as to the reason for said breakup.
I don’t see Willow jumping on the judgment train where Tara is concerned. She seems to understand that people make mistakes and I’m sure she can see that Logan’s behavior is no reflection on Tara.
Quote:
So this is a real date, right? You're not going to come up with...'And Willow woke up from her dream'...in the next update, right? You love us Emms, and we love-th you-eth. The date will happen and smoochies will ensue, that's your next update outline.
Hehe. I’m not
that evil…well…perhaps.
Thanks Irene, you are such a dear. *hugs*

AND COULD SPENCER BE ANY CUTER?!?!? Could your fictional little boy be my actual son, um later in life, when I'm not in high school?
I think I can arrange that ….but if I tell you how, I’ll have to kill you. Hehe. I’m sure you’ll end up with a kid something like Spencer… you know,
post high school.

ArtemisQuote:
Aaaaand, grudging sympathy for Logan goes out the door. Sure, she's had a rough ride, and it's tricky to own up when you've got yourself to blame for a lot of it - that's a scary thing to do, to look at your screwed-up life and admit 'Yup, that's my fault'. And I still believe her insistence to herself that she does love Spencer - but that love isn't translating into actions, and until that happens, well Logan m'dear, you deserve to be soundly whacked with a rubber chicken.
A whacking with a rubber chicken is the best punishment I’ve heard yet! I think being struck across the buttocks a couple times with a rubber chicken is just what are dearly misguided Logan needs in order to put her priorities in order. Yes dear, dear Logan…It would be
1. Avoid engaging in activities that will end in a beating with rubber chicken.
2. Take care of Spencer.
3. Keep mouth shut for the rest of life.
There….that should do it.
Quote:
At least Spencer doesn't seem crushed by Logan failing to appear - it's sad that it's probably because he knows not to get his hopes up, but given that the world is imperfect, sometimes it's helpful to be able to shrug off disappointments like that, and just take good surprises when they come. Like Willow-time, which he seems to have taken a liking to - and Willow herself is getting on well with him too, in spite of what must be a bit of anxiety at 'dealing with son of woman I have hots for'. That's a high stress situation for her, even though nothing crisis-like is happening. Putting the blanket over him was so sweet though, and something I'm sure won't be lost on Tara.
I have found that children tend to dismiss disappointment fairly easily. Especially if they are not particularly insecure. And I’m sure it helped soften the blow when he saw Willow.
Quote:
Trust Anya to throw a giant-robot-sized spanner into the works... I wonder that Willow's first reaction on seeing that Tara had been talking to her wasn't to check what Anya had said about her in detail, and confirm-or-deny where necessary.
I don’t know…wouldn’t that come off as a little paranoid? Like she had something to hide? I think it might have put an even larger RED FLAG into Tara’s mind if Willow saw that she was talking to Anya and suddenly was worried about what Tara had been told.
Thanks for the feedback Chris!

Hi Ms. Emms! I reeeeeeaallly like this story...it seems nice and light...but does mix in some heavier dramatic elements too. It hits just the right note.
Thank you. I was hoping it would be a good mixture of sweet and not so sweet. Like a really good glass of lemonaide.
Quote:
I love how you've captured Spencer as the quintessential little kid--so wrapped up in the now and not really aware of all the other things going on...going from "Willow, I didn't know you would be here!" to "Look at what I did Mommy" is spot on. Hope to read more soon!
I’m glad you like Spencer.

Katie
Did I ever mention to you exactly how much I appreciate your enthusiasm? Well, I do. You are great!
I’m glad you liked the update. It took me awhile to write because I kept going over whether or not I should have Anya in there. I didn’t want her to ruin the “feel” of the story…but that line about “gay of the day” kept going around in my mind and I knew no one would be able to pull it off, but her.
And I’m happy that you like the progression of the Willow/Tara/Spencer relationship. I’ve tried to keep it moving at a steady pace.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback, and everything else.
